What IF
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
I often think/dream about good things gone bad.
What IF a world famous Physiotherapist discovered that people with extreme physiological disorders expended huge amounts of energy. And he learned how to convert that wasted human energy into a fluid that would power cars and other things dependant on fossil fuel? But it was pure and gave off no emissions. So he set up a program where all the people with those types of problems could come into his Behavior Health Wards for free treatment.
His wonderful idea was embraced by the government as a cure for two social evils, street people off the street and a new clean green friendly source of energy. If they could only ramp up the production if this new energy source America would no longer be dependant on foreign fuel.
What IF the corrupt politicians took over the program and they started bringing in normal street people, using drugs to make them crazy so they could tap into their energy…
You get the picture – who would expose the corruption? Who would shut down the program?
What IF they couldn't and a whole new world order was established where the rich were 'fueled' by the poor in the world?

What IF

Three dimensional digital storage is just around the corner. What if the intellegence we put into computers was like a petrie dish for a new form of intellegence - 'bit-beings'.
And what IF with the addition of three dimensional storage that intellegence was able to move from the two dimentional world of the computer to our world. Imigine little logical beings entering us through our skin as we typed or text'd.
What would they do inside us? Like little parasites, what if they needed us and they slowly took over and kept us alive as hosts. At a given point in time the human host would lose control and be put in their prison, not allowed to do anything but sustain life for them. The little nasties. And they knew each other because they could see the reflection of the other bit-beings in the eyes once they took over. So they started to form secret societies and encourage more and more computer use. People would be shunned if they didn't use computers. The technos would make laws against the naturals. It would get ugly.

What IF

Our five senses are all about one form of sensing wave motion or another. I read recently that scientists have discovered we have echo-location like bats and other abilities to perceive things - things we call the sixth sense. I knew it! All the senses are just different ways of understanding the deeper reality surrounding us.
What IF someone studying wave motion and human perception made an electronic enhancer that amplified the senses and merged them. In testing, that person discovered that when this technology was applied, special abilities seemed to be added like mind reading, invisibility and x-ray vision.
What IF the woman scientist who designed the enhancer hooked herself up with it? What would she discover about her boyfriend? Her boss? Her company? The government? What would she do about it?

What IF

What IF the use of the Internet was made available to everyone in the world and because of that a common language came into being called 'Net'? What would happen if by speaking the same language a common culture and purpose were developed?
And what If the pressure to conform to that common culture and purpose were so great that those who didn't conformed were persecuted and even killed?

What IF
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
What IF a scientist, exploring the field of time travel, discovered that the portal to time and space was just outside Jerusalem, on the place called Golgotha where Jesus was hung on the cross. So he goes there with his time travel devices and discoveres he truely can travel through time at that location. He further discovers that time and space do not work the way it seems. It's not linear. That spot on Golgotha is location of the beginning and the end of time and learning how to navigate by understanding the times and places that are conceptually far away from that place and the time Jesus was crucified leads to some wacky adventures.

What IF
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
What IF the physicists studying superstring theory discovered what the strings were? And what if those little Calabi-Yau manifolds that made up the fabric of the universe were what we consider concepts? And the primary ones were faith hope and love. And other minor ones were mixtures of the three primary ones, kind of like colors and light. Some of the other ones were: wisdom, understanding, kindness, patience… You get the picture right?
And what IF there was a brane that was different? What IF those little Calabi-Yau manifolds were dark and sinister like lies and murder? And what if those dark strings were in a brane that wove through the other branes and bent them out of shape?
What IF instead of exploring space we found a way of inserting our imaginations (kind of like virtual reality only what happened to the person in the imagination happened in real life) into the sub-microscopic world of the superstrings to fight the dark brane?

What IF our dreams were only a place to act out out real reality?
What IF we could fly? Walk through walls? Travel through time? Do anything our imaginations wanted?
What IF our imaginations were the kindergarden of our reality?
