Good times, good times
The power of laughter, good friends, mixed with a smattering of good food:
Visited with a great, eclectic group of friends last night - first time hubby and I have been in same room with ALL of them in a long time.
The occasion was a friend's daughter's graduation. But she and all of her teen friends disappeared to visit together - only periodically showing back up to gather more food. ;)
In their absence the "adults" became like teens themselves - laughing and having a great time. I appreciate being invited and I appreciate having gone.
Congrats to H on her graduation and thanks to Ms. B for inviting us. We had a GREAT time!
Eclectic time, that is - or maybe electric - or something like that. ;)

Sharing a Blessing
While I can do many things in the blogging world . . . this setup does not always agree with me - there is a blessing I would like to share with you, but I cannot figure out how to add the youtube video here. Maybe it is because it is a youtube video??? Probably. So - I will post a link for you to go over and look at yourselves. Please do so - it has been a blessing to me and I think it will be to you as well.
Okay, my friends . . . have a wonderful week!

Waiting
Some days it seems like the whole day is in WAIT mode. Today is one of those days. I've kept busy with laundry and some cleaning - not too much cleaning - don't want to get TOO crazy after all.
Woke up EARLY - before the alarm which was actually set for 0:darkthirty anyway. So, it was wait for the alarm to wake hubby - so he could get on the road for anchortown and a meeting.
back to bed for a short time - waiting (yet again) for the real alarm to go off.
apparently I was waiting for a call from Lessa - and glad that her call came in to tell me she had arrived at her layover spot for her return home.
more waiting - for the post office to open so I could get a couple of packages into the mail - prizes for a little contest I held over at Knitting Passion.
More waiting as I transferred laundry from washer to dryer, went to the cluster box to pick up mail, checked on Lessa's kids (to make sure they were doing their chores).
Waiting, waiting, waiting. Nah, not really. It's just a state of what is next? what should I be doing?
Actually, the biggest wait is right now. Hubby is supposed to be done with his meeting. He and his friend and Lessa SHOULD be on the road home by now. But they haven't called to let me know - so I have no clue when to expect them. No clue as to whether or not we (the grands and I) should go ahead and have dinner or WAIT for them to arrive home to share dinner.
It's all wait and see. Wait and see.
What a blessing it is for me to know that my Lord and Savior didn't wait for me to ASK Him to die for me. He didn't wait for me to shed His blood - for ME! His Father didn't wait for me to be good enough to deserve His gift.
He game Himself for me - no questions - no wait - I didn't have to pull a number like they make me do at the dmv office.
He gave Himself for me freely and with great LOVE.
What a blessing!

Knitting!!
Category: Friends
Knitting and friends go together very well.
Sometimes I get into a knitting "mojo" - a groove, if you will. I have many leftover balls of yarn from past projects and sometimes they just call out to me to be used.
That's why some of the knitting and crochet charity projects are so great. They sometimes offer a way to use up the leftovers in order to make someone happy.
One such project is making granny squares for afghans for children who are very ill. One of my daughters sent me the link to This Eclectic Life and I have highlighted it a couple of times at my knitting blog, Knitting Passion.
So, if for some reason you are reading this AND you knit or crochet, go on over to Knitting Passionand check in from time to time on the latest project I'm working on or the latest charity I'm contributing to - I hope you'll join me.
And - feel free to pass it on - and leave a comment.
Thanks, everyone!

GOOD Friday
Heard part of a song on my way to work this morning that made laugh out loud - the sentiment, I'm sure, was honest and true, but it just cracked me up. I've no clue who was singing - or the name of the song - it was on the Christian radio station about 7:45 Alaska morning time. The phrase? Talking about the crucifixion - after 3 days . . . you can't keep a good Man down. And my laughter? Not so much at the sentiment - because it is true - He (my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ) arose on the third day - but more because my reaction was so much like my Grandma Abbott would have had - did have whenever my sister and I would rave about the (at that time) new group, the Beatles. She would roll her eyes and bemoan the insensitivities of youth these days. Yes, I admit, my first thought was on the irreverence - or perceived irreverence of the phrase. But you know what? I'm ever so glad that the devil could NOT keep THE Good Man down! It is a GOOD Friday, indeed.
