I love it when...
Current mood: hmm...
you have friends and they get boyfriends and they become surgically attached to one another and you never ever see them. I love, love, LOVE it.
REALLY I DO. So much that I am going to do just that when my next boyfriend comes along. We might even superglue ourselves together and start talking the same.
So I told you what I love, now one thing I don't love is how you can never tell the tone someone is using on the internet. Example: I can say "Oh, that is great!" and mean "wow, that really is great!" or the same sentence could mean, "Oh, that's just great." (As in something I would say if I dropped my freshly cooked dinner on the floor).
With that said, go back and reread this blog in case it was misinterpreted the first time.

totally could have won this...
I thought about entering this contest but i didn't for 2 reasons. number 1 being that i didn't want to give nbc the complete rights to my most favorite picture ever and 2, i'm not with the person anymore that i am kissing in the photo so winning a trip for two to hawaii may have been a little awkward. but i still like my pic better than any of the finalists chosen. coulda won...
...and i've always wanted to go to hawaii. oh well.

an American Tsunami
As I read stories on the internet and watch the news it becomes more apparent to me that hurricane Katrina is our tsunami. When something this terrible happens to another country, we are out there with supplies and aid along with many other countries. Will they come to our rescue?
The images in New Orleans and Mississippi remind me of Scott Mutter's Escalator photo. Where he overlapped negatives to make things seem slightly out of the ordinary, I see trucks driving through waves next to mailboxes and dead dolphins floating by and it's hard to believe that something so unusual could be real. Complete chaos and insanity are unraveling down there at this very moment. Levees breaking, people looting, rapes, murders. Panic would be an expected reaction in this type of situation. I too would probably be taking food out of stores to feed my family, but why in the world take a tv when it is already soaked anyway? One person was taking a tv out of a store and the water was rushing by so fast that the second he stepped out onto the street the tv was swept away. Umm...serves him right.
I understand the desperation and frustration of the people, but I am angered to hear that people are shooting at the helicopters that are aiding in the rescue efforts. This appalls me. No matter how deperate you are, shooting at the people that are trying to save you does nothing-except halt the rescue efforts.

love or lust?
so yeah, i don't blog on here much but guess what world...tonight i am going to do some blogging. the main reason for this entry is just to say how tired i am of people and their meaningly relationships. The majority of this world is so stuck on finding somebody that will make them happy for the time being whether it be through sexual means or just innocent cuddly relationships they have to feel like somebody cares about them that they lose themselves in the process. Some people never find themselves because they have relationships just for the sake of having them starting at age 12.
Sometimes I just wish that I was young when my grandmother was young, a time when sex wasn't so prevalent in society. When internet dating didn't exist. When a boy pursued a girl because he wanted to know her as a person. When people married for love and not for lust. Those are the people that are still married today and have been for 40+ years.
I think the only way to have a relationship like this is to take out the physical aspects of it. And no, I am not talking about kissing...you know what I am taking about. Then, and only then, can a relationship be based purely on attraction to one's personality and not lust for that person. Call me old fashioned, call me lame, I don't really care. But in the end, I'll have a happy marriage that was worth the wait (and you will be bored with your sex lives).
