Jammin’ at the Railhead

Friday night we walked out under the lights at the famous Railhead Saloon down in Lawton, Ok. If you have not ever been there, you certainly need to make the trip. Kay is a wonderful hostess, and the club itself is pretty top class. If you remember the Basement down in Dallas during the heyday of the 80's and 90's, you get my idea - except a bit smaller...

For only our second show, we are getting better ! Believe it or not, I actually walked off stage in a decent mood this time.. The set went well, and with Tommy and Roy both having a history with Lawton, a lot of their friends came out and made it a great evening.

Kim took some pics, and we finally got some good shots of Tommy ! Also, great news - the mix station was set up with a recorder and the entire set was filmed to DVD by Dragon Productions. As I receive a copy I'll let you...

We're back down in Lawton next week for Railfest 2008 Metal Festival at the Railhead, and would love to have you down there...

Big Papa’s show...

We're not virgins anymore !

Massive thanks to all who came out to the show Friday night at Big Papa's. Especially thanks to Seed of Doubt and to SPUNN for letting us tag along.

Joe - couldn't have done it without you ! Thanks for throwing us to the wolves, and even more for all the promotion.

To Brandi for popping all the flashbulbs, I can't wait to see all the pics ! You're the best babe !

For our first show it wasn't that bad. Of course to us on stage all we hear are the mistakes, so I was a bit down after the performance - but everyone was great and seemed to enjoy the set. Your experience is the ultimate, so if you tell me it sounded great and you liked it...well, then I guess it was a badass jam after all !

Josh and Carl, thanks for picking me up - and Kim, thanks for being there and sharing the moment...

To each and every one who came, thanks - if you can't make it down to Lawton next weekend, we'll be back in Okc at Bora, Bora with "Soul Craft Black" on August 30th.

Echofist sessions-

Guten tag alles meine freunden !

The day has come... after busting our asses for the last few months we finally have seven songs and almost an hour worth of material to play for you.

We have been talking with Dave at Greenhouse Studio, who did an amazing job recording our friends "Seed of Doubt" about doing some sessions next month. The plan is around the middle of July to go in and lay down five tracks and get those fully produced and up on the page as soon as we can. Then write a few more tunes and maybe go back in and record the next five to complete the goal of releasing a full length 10 song cd.

Once the sessions are done in July, we absolutely will be looking at booking some live dates in August and the remainder of the fall. Lots of options on the table throughout Oklahoma, and of course many possibilities in the region - be patient and we'll be there soon !

If you haven't stopped by the band page, come and check it out - Tommy has finally got a page up, and Roy, Joeix, and I check ours pretty regurlarly and try to return every message we receive.

Echofist progress...

Guten Tag Alles !

It has been a very procductive last few weeks. We have been tweaking the all the songs and the arrangments and Joeix has fined tuned all the melodies. Also, Tommy finally has gotten around to posting up a myspace page, so hit him up and leave a comment.

Of course, Roy has thrown some quality music on the table which Tommy and I have have built and evolved and we put the final touches on it Saturday. As of now here is where we stand -

6. Wo Ist Gott (half German, half English)

7. Requiem Suite

Muscially, the songs are done and we just polishing the changes. Joeix and I still need to finalize the lyrics, but the the structures are there and completed.

Haven't settled on whether to accept the offers to do a live show in July, there are some things we would like to do live that require at lot of attention and well, right now the music needs to come first. Live dates are on the backburner at the moment. Right now, our focus is getting the tracks laid down and recorded and posted up here on the page ASAP so you all can get a feel and a taste for what we are trying to achieve.

I know we are taking a very different path than most bands, but all I ask is that you stick with us and be patient. I promise you - you will not be disappointed.

echofist update

update 6/1/2008

First and foremost, a big "vielen Danke" to all those who sent me birthday wishes over the weekend, and especially to my sis for the awesome Betty Boop cake !

The weekends have turned into very long but productive sessions and we are making tremendous progress. There are six songs that have been fully arranged, and now we are just going over the pieces and getting them tightened and tweaking all the many nuances.

Here is what we have so far....

1. Parallel Visions - done

2. Instinct - done

3. Checkmate - just a bit of tweaking on a few parts

4. Walk the Line - again, just a few transistions that need to be smoothed out, but pretty much done

5. Arabian Night(mares) - done, and a bad-ass jam !

6. Wo ist Gott - musically it's arranged, now it's just a matter of joeix and i sitting down and working on the lyrics (i've got him singing in german on this one !)

Now that we have these six just about in hand, we'll let Roy run loose again and let him throw out on the table all those amazing ideas he's been archiving for the last few weeks... although joeix did bust us cheating the other day and we have at least three or four more partials that could easily turn into songs 7,8,and 9.

We may try to sneak into the studio in the next few weeks to get a basic version of "Parallel" and maybe "Walk the Line" to post up on the page for you all to listen to...but if it doesn't line up don't worry, we may have some live dates ready for mid July...?

Also - our very best friends "Seed of Doubt" will be appearing live at City Nights in Oklahoma City on June 13 with Rikets and a few other bands. This is going to be a kick-ass show and one you won't want to miss !  Tickets are available, just contact "Seed of Doubt"  through their page (on my friend's list) or send me a message and I will get ahold of Josh and the guys for you - which by the way you might be hearing them on the radio very soon....

Also 2 - i recently re-did my personal page to showcase many of the bands i've quickly been becoming friends with back over in Germany and a few from the Russian Federation. listen to some of the ones i have posted on the playlist....

My dad out in the Valley of the Sun has finally set up a page, which will make it a lot easier to stay in touch - I'm so happy !

If you have any computer problems hit him up - the guy is a damn freak of nature with the things.

hell yes my cheeky monkeys !

What a weekend......

Hooked up with the mad cowboy friday night and went over the tracks, and well of course Roy dropped a badass little jam on us and we just added one helluva new piece. Spent the night with some friends, and a little beer and worked on the chemistry and honestly we are jelling at a pace that is ridiculous.

Back at the house, and of course the rum was flowing....

Saturday, included a much needed excursion to Guitar Center, and after some very tasty blackened chicken we were back at work at the room. Well....as usual, we all plugged in and dammit if Roy didn't drop another jucy nugget and let me tell ya, you're going to love the hell out of this one !

Spent the entire day working and polishing the material...yes we are now at SIX tracks, just a few more and we will be hitting a stage very soon. Studio time is still pending, but trust me - the tracks will be up here on the page VERY SOON !!! and I know you won't be disappointed.

Believe me - Tommy, Joeix, Roy and I are busting our ass and there is a chemistry and bond here that is unbelievable and that brotherhood is bleeding...no hemoraging into the music. As we sat at the house enjoying the fruits of the sugar cane and listening to the playback, I am so proud of the material we are putting together.

Honestly - there is nothing around like what you're about to hear. Keep the faith, and thanks to all of you behind the scenes helping us put this together.
