AFTERLIFE.TV'S BELIEFS

afterlife.tv is built on a core set of beliefs that we call our Essential Beliefs. These are the beliefs in which we have unity and on which we base our fundamental decisions.

.: In Essential Beliefs - we have unity
(Ephesians 4:4-6)
There is one Body and one Spirit...there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of us all..

.: In Non-Essential Beliefs - we have liberty
(Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22)
Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters...Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls...So then each of us will give an account of himself to God...So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.

.: In All our Beliefs - we show charity
(I Corinthians 13:2)
If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

THE ESSENTIALS WE BELIEVE:

About God:
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and are one God.
(Genesis 1:1,26,27 , 3:22 ; Psalm 90:2 ; Matthew 28:19 ; 1 Peter 1:2 ; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

About Jesus Christ:
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King.
(Matthew 1:22,23 ; Isaiah 9:6 ; John 1:1-5 , 14:10-30 ; Hebrews 4:14-15 ; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 ; Romans 1:3-4 ; Acts 1:9-11 ; 1 Timothy 6:14-15 ; Titus 2:13)

About the Holy Spirit:
The Holy Spirit is coequal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. He gives every believer spiritual gifts when they are saved. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily.
(Acts 1:8 ; 2 Corinthians 3:17 ; John 16:7-13 , 14:16-17 ; Galatians 5:25 ; 1 Corinthians 2:12 , 3:16 ; Ephesians 1:13 , 5:18)

About the Bible:
The Bible is God's Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs about living. Because it is inspired by God, it is truth without error.
(2 Timothy 3:16 , 1:13 ; 2 Peter 1:20-21 ; Psalm 119:105 , 160 , 12:6 ; Proverbs 30:5)

About Human Beings:
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God's creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called "sin". Sin separates us from God and causes many problems in our life.
(Genesis 1:27 ; Psalm 8:3-6 ; Isaiah 53:6a ; Romans 3:23 ; Isaiah 59:1-2)

About Salvation:
Salvation is God's free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin's penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.
(Romans 6:23 ; Ephesians 2:8-9 ; John 14:6 , 1:2 ; Titus 3:5 ; Galatians 3:26 ; Romans 5:1 , 10:9-10)

About Eternity:
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with Him is eternal life in Heaven. Heaven and hell are real places of eternal existence.
(John 3:16 , 14:17 ; Romans 6:23 , 8:17-18 ; Revelation 20:15 ; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9)

BRAND NEW FROM AFTERLIFE.TV ONLINE...

CLICK HERE TO JOIN OUR BRAND NEW SOCIAL NETWORKING SITE FOR CHRISTIANS

At the end of World War II, Robert Woodruff declared, "In my generation it is my desire that everyone in the world have a taste of Coca Cola." Talk about vision!

Today Coca Cola is sold from the deserts of Africa to the interior of China. Why? Because Woodruff motivated his colleagues to reach their generation around the world for Coke.

How big is your vision? Have you ever dreamed about what God could do through you to help win the world in our generation to Jesus Christ? After all, as Oswald Smith said, the only generation that can reach this generation is our generation.

Even though the Lord limited His own public ministry to the Palestine area, He came and lived and died for the whole world. After His resurrection He commissioned His disciples to "make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19, italics added). He sent them as His ambassadors first to Jerusalem, then to all Judea and Samaria, and ultimately to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). Those first-century Christians were hesitant to dream about how God would fulfill Christ's last commands. The apostle Paul challenged their complacency by devoting his life after his conversion to traveling and proclaiming Christ.

Paul explained his vision for evangelism in Romans 15. First, he could report, "From Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ" (Romans 15:19). Even his enemies admitted that Paul had saturated entire provinces with the gospel (Acts 19:26) and had turned the world upside down (Acts 17:6). Paul was not content to saturate one small area with the gospel at the expense of the rest of the world.

He had a strategy for reaching the entire Roman Empire. "But now that there is no more place for me to work in these regions [Jerusalem to Illyricum], and since I have been longing for many years to see you, I plan to do so when I go to Spain" (Romans 15:23-24). Paul went on to explain his itinerary. In his mind he visualized every major city he would stop at on his way to Rome.

He longed to win the people of this influential capital city to Christ just as I long to see key cities around the world hear the voice of God. But beyond Rome, Paul ultimately wanted to reach the entire known world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Like Paul, as God's ambassadors our vision should be "to win as many people as possible to Jesus Christ throughout the world." That is my vision and reason for existence. Following the example of Paul, we actively and aggressively seek to evangelize the masses from city to city using every means possible (THINK INTERNET EVANGELISM)

Evangelism is not an option in the Christian life. Paul admitted, "When I preach the gospel, I cannot boast, for I am compelled to preach. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!" (1 Corinthians 9:16). Whether by preaching or praying, traveling around the globe, speaking to those next door or interacting online, we should all have a part in winning the world to Jesus Christ.

I believe that if we utilize the technology given us we can reach this generation for Christ in our lifetime. Never before have we been able to connect with over 70,000,000 people from the convenience of our computer! You can actually be a missionary without ever leaving your house!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT... Can you imagine a community of literally millions of believers who get together online in a myspace like community to connect with other followers of Christ...to pray for prayer requests from around the world, to post your prayer requests and get prayer 24 hours a day 7 days a week...to give clothes you've outgrown to other Christians in need through our classifieds, to post job opportunities for Christians, to basically....be the church described in ACTS where everyone came together and no one had a need...

TAKE IT A STEP FURTHER... Imagine millions of believers who post their testimony of how God changed their lives for unbelievers to read...talk about a powerful witness! Talk about letting our light shine....talk about reaching the world for Christ!

HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED.... I've been working hard night and day and a few minutes ago finally finished our concept MYSPACE site for Christians! I'd like everyone to go sign up (its free) and post your testimony....Then put a link in the about you section of your current myspace.com page telling people that if they want to know more about you to click on the link...

Imagine the possibilities... while you are sleeping tonight, someone could be reading about the life changing encounter you had with God and could be making the same decision! Our site is brand new (just launched it a few minutes ago) but I believe in faith that if you will join, and email everyone you know to join, and ask them to email everyone they know....in a very short period of time we can be making a global impact.

Please check it out, and give me any suggestions you might have as well as any bugs you find. Please email them to info@afterlife.tv Lastly, it is free to sign up and get your testimony online, but if you love what we are doing and enjoy the site consider upgrading to our premium features (a small tithe to help us further the gospel)!

LASTLY Be in prayer as we envision in the very near future an actual online internet campus where people who are curious about God can come into our "virtual" meeting grounds (complete with live chats) and experience God!

Blessings,

Joe Wood

P.S. God is Good - ALL THE TIME!
