Please be informed and make an educated decision.
Current mood: disappointed

If you are not aware of the controversy surrounding the books and the new movie The Golden Compass, I urge you to do your research before you allow your children to see this movie - or worse, to read the books.

You can google for info or use wikipedia.  You will be amazed at what you find out about these books and the intent behind the author who wrote them.

Finished "Harlequin"
Current mood: peaceful

I've waited this long to read this book because frankly, I've been turned off by all the sex in the previous books.  I'm glad to say that this book took Anita back to her roots a liitle.  The ardeur is not so prominant - so neither is the sex.

I really enjoyed it.

Finished my first Harry Potter fanfiction.
Current mood: creative

I am quuite pleased with myself.  It ended up being a total of 23,503 words.  I asked the 15 year old to read it and she laughed in all the right spots.  That is good enough for me.  I've already started on my second story.

The little blog icons are fixed....
Current mood: accomplished

So I decided to change my icon.  I've been stuck with the little hamster that looked constipated no matter the mood.  I think this one may be new..I don't remember it from before.

I am in a slightly better mood now that the appliance store took their head out of their ass and realized they needed to replace my 6 month old dryer.  2 weeks ago it decided to stop working and they told me I needed a new starter.  The starter is on back order and will not be available until October 19.  Today I had to go show my butt just a little - but it worked.  They will deliver a new dryer in the morning between 10 and 12.

I really enjoyed this book.  I'd originally bought it for my daughter, she loved it and said I needed to read it, I'm glad I did.

Now on the the sequel.

Finished "Dark Fever"
Current mood: creative

This was my first book by Karen Marie Moning and I really enjoyed it.  I can't wait until the next one comes out next month.

I'm still writing my Harry Potter fanfiction.  That is so much fun.

Finished "Dead Girls Are Easy"
Current mood: creative

I might withold comment on this book - it has the potential to be a good series - I feel like it got off to a rocky start.  The voodoo did it.  lol

So right now I'm not reading anything.  I'm too caught up in writing the fanfiction.  I'm having such a blast.  Who da thunk it?  I do have a creative bone in my body.  LOL

Finished "Don’t Talk Back To Your Vampire"
Current mood: creative

These books are funny.  This author has a great sense of humor and makes her characters easy to relate too.  (Well, aside from the whole vampire thing.  lol)  I can't wait for the next one, I believe it comes out next year.

On to a different topic.  My mother and step father have gone out of town for the long weekend and we were asked to dog sit.  Sophie is not your average dog - she is a she-poo (that is probably spelled wrong, but you get my meaning) and she thinks she's human.  I have never heard her make a noise.  Never, until the dropped her off yesterday and she realized they were leaving her.  When they walked out the door she went and sat in front of the door and whined.  She was heart broken.  Threw her off her food and everything.  She knows us, we see her all the time - but she misses Mama.  Finally my daughter sat in the floor with Sophie and got her to eat.  She seems better this morning.  I bet Mama doesn't leave her anymore when I tell her how Sophie re-acted.  lol

And on another front.  I've started writing a little.  I mean those of you in the book group know about the story Linda and I have going.  But this - well this is fanfiction.  One of my friends here in Myspace has introduced me to fanfiction, she is a huge Harry Potter fan.  (Bigger than me, if you can believe it.)  Well Cheryl told me about the writing that she has done at Fanfiction.net - I went there and read her stuff and it is good.  So I set up my own account and started typing away.  I think I'm up to chapter 8 now.  It is so much fun.  And because it's fanfiction - I get to use the charcters that are already established - but get them to do what I want them to do.  It is such a hoot.  I've only read one story of Cheryl's because I did not want to be influenced in my own writing.  So I've given Harry a brother - then I got reviews - I love it.

If anyone is interested in taking a look, let me know and I'll send you the address.

Finished "Immortals: The Gathering"
Current mood: cheerful

This one was so much better than the last one.  Lots of action.  I like for the action and the sex to be equal.  LOL

Now on to an author I've read before.  She is such a hoot.  Michele Bardsley.

Finished "Immortals The Awakening"
Current mood: thankful

I did not like this book.  If it takes me more than 2 days to read a book - it's bacause I don't find it interesting.  Not to spoil it for anyone else - I'll just say I like my female main character to have a little backbone and not fall into bed and forget everything she stands for.
