Dark rooms
I looked at the clock, twelve-thirty. An hour and a half left and I could shut this bar down. A woman sat down in front of me,
"What'll it be?" I yelled over the music.
"Bloody Mary," she grinned, "very bloody."
I smiled and shook my head, "Louisa you know this isn't that kind of bar."
I handed her the drink, "I know, " she said, "but it's more fun than a bunch of mortals sitting around waiting on me to suck their neck."
She looked across the room and a young woman smiled at her, "That the lucky lady?" I asked.
She looked back at me, "For tonight."
I shook my head and watched her walk over with the drink.
I walked to the end of the bar and took a few more drink orders. As I mixed them Tina came up to me,
"I have got to get out of here, I can't stand all the blood suckers in here, when they ht on you you never know if they want in your pants or on your neck."
I laughed, "Don't let t get to you Tina," I turned and looked at her, her long blonde hair tucked neatly back, her big blue eyes full of confusion, "just do like me, smile, nod, and then move on to the next customer."
"It's easy for you!" she pouted, "they know you, they all think I'm some dumb flunkie waiting to get that big kiss."
I laughed harder, "Tina, just ignore it, it's all I can tell you."
I turned around and headed to the end of the bar my hands full of drinks. From the corner of my eyes I saw a man sitting at the counter, "I'll be right with yah hun."
He nodded. I dropped the drinks off and collected the money.
"Michelle, " One of the men said, "Why don't you ever go home with anybody?"
I smiled at him, "Don't you know I'm a lezzy?"
He and his buddies laughed, "Bullshit Michelle, they don't make dykes like you."
"Yeah," another man said, "You got front, back, and side to side."
I laughed and leaned over the counter, "You want to know the real reason guys?"
They all leaned in towards me, "Yeah, what is it, we'll do it."
I leaned in a little closer, so close I could smell the cigarettes burning in the ashtray,
"Because my momma taught me never to go hme with strangers, and you all are definitely strange." I leaned back quickly and the men groaned,
"C'mon Michelle!" I turned away from their complaints and walked over to the man on the barstool.
Before I could say anything he looked up and caught my eyes. His dark brown eyes burnt into mine, for a moment I was lost and happy, then I realized his little trick. I leaned against the counter so he could hear me without everyone knowing it,
"I don't play those little vampire mind tricks sweetie, do it again and you're out of here."
He grinned, "Sorry, didn't mean to offend you."
"It's alright, " I said, "most the women in here love it I know, but I'm not them."
His grin widened a little and I smiled, "What a pretty smile." He said.
I rolled my eyes and laughed, "What do you want to drinkā¦."
"Raymond." He said
"Well Raymond, I'm Michelle, and what do you want to drink."
"You."
"Oh God," I said, "This isn't that kind of bar sweetie, those are just a few blocks over."
He smiled at me, exposing fang but brightening his face up so that his dark brown eyes gleamed. "Fine, I'll wait," He said.
"Wait for what?" I asked.
"Wait for you to come around."
I shook my head, "I'm not into the whole sleeping with dead guys, or even live guys really."
He laughed and ran his hand through long auburn hair I hadn't noticed before.
"You are a stubborn woman aren't you?"
"How do you think I've stayed here this long."
He shook his head, "This is my first time ehre, how ong have you worked here?"
"Four years." I said, "Now if you'll exscuse me I do have other people who like to drink alcohol."
"Alright, alright, " he said, "I'll be ehre, waiting."

Bars prt 1
It started out harmless, all this. Just a dance, between two people who had known each other for years. Two people with everything in common including having signifigant others. I had come out of the pool room from frustration. My friend was back there and as usual she was not paying any heed to anyone but her boyfreind. We had all grown tired of it a long time ago. So when I looked across the pool room and saw my boyfreind Derek playing pool with another girl and those two I felt that little ball of anger jump in my stomach. I was going out to the bar. I walked out to the one room bar and into blaring karaoke and loud talking. The smell of beer was stronger up here and the light was dim to non existant.I looked around for anyone I knew when I spotted my cousin. He was sitting at a table with a bunch of guys and I felt a little bit of nerves crawl up my back. took that first fateful step towards that table that started the series of events I would spend the next few years remebering, all because i was pissed. He saw me and smiled, "Rachel!Long time no see cuz!" I smiled big and wrapped my arms around him, "Hey Kyle, i know tell me about it." He pulled a chair up from the other table, "Sit down, have a drink," He looked at mme a little closer, "Are you old enough to have a drink?" I laughed, "Not yet cuz, gimme a few years." I sat down and they all kept talking. I listened to some fo the singers up at the little T.V. screen. Kyle loked at me and then looked at the person singing. She was trying hard but some people had just never heard of a key. "Hey cuz you outta get up there and sing, show these people up." "No," I said turning my head back, "They don't wanna hear me sing." "Aren't you rachel Mathers?" I heard from the end of the table. I looked up and saw the face of Randy Johnson smiling at me, "Yeah," I said. "Well," he said, "then I'm pretty sure all these people woud love to hear you sing." I crossed my arms and cocked my head, "And how would you knw Randy? You aint heard me sing." His grin widened, "You don't remeber that summer with Mike? e all went out to some rodeo and he had you sing, I aint never forgot that." I blushed when i laughed, Randy was a tall scrawny country boy.I'd heard plenty of stories about him, none of them good, but every girl loves a bad boy. Kyle leaned back and got the attention of the DJ "You got any Loretta Lynn?" The DJ nodded his head, "Alright well sign her up, her names Rachel, she knows every Loretta song out there."He looked at me and looked back at Kyle, "Is she old enough t be in here?" "Yes dammit! Just put her name in." The DJ shrugged and went over to the stereo.I looked at Kyle and he miled, "Thee ya go cuz, now you can show 'em all how grat we are!" Everyone at the table laughed. Randy leaned over, "Everyone already knows how greta you are at drinkin beer." Kyle just laughed, Randy looked at me, you're really his cousin?" I nodded, "Have been all my life." "You're a smartass you knwo it?" "I've been told a time or two." He smiled at me and I grinned back, Kyle leaned over the table, "Randy what're ou lookin at my cousin like that fer?" Randy laughed, "Cause she's givin me shit." Kyle leaned back, "ou better watch out, Randy likes them fiesty ones." "Ahhh, I said, i can see that from the hickey on his neck." He moved his hand up to his nck, "Yeah,' He said "My girlfreind got a little frisky before she left." I laughed, "Well at least you're gettin' some." He shook his head, "Not too much." "Eh Randy don't be complainin' bout that little lady." I scooted over just in time for another person to sit next to me. He wastall and stocky with dark red hair and a big smile. I could smell beer on him like a perfume and when he looked at me his eyes lit p. "Well hello there, and who is this?" H elooked at Randy, "I can tell you my own damn name." I said. He turned back to me, "Alright, what is your name?" "Rachel." i said. Kyle put his arm around me, "This is my cousin. DOn't ou be ooglin' her Charlie." Charlie laughed, "Woudl do that?" "Yes." Randy said. "Shut your trap JOhnson." We all laughed and I heard the DJ call my name. I looked over at Kyle, "Shit I'm bervouse." I laughed. "You sing?" Asked Charlie. "Oh does she. Randy nodded. I stood up and walked around the tables tot he microphone. "hat am singin'? i whispered. He looked at the disc, "Fist City", you know it?" "Yeah." i said and turned towards the little screen. I took a deep breath and looked around the little barroom, no ne was payning much attention, it made things easier on me. That was until saw Derek standing int he doorway. H e waved and smiled, I frowned and the song started. I sang each note right on and never missed a beat. When i was done everyone in the bar applauded, what was my name? Hw old was I? i was great! I laughed and smiled and thanked people as I headed back to my seat. Kyle patted me on the back and shouted, "I taught her everythign she knows!" Everyone laughed. The Dj called the next persona up, the man got up to the mike and coughed, "I don't knwo if I even want to follow that." He said. THe rom laughed again and his music started. Charlie leaned over an dpout his arm around me, "You are great, where did you leanr to sing like that?" I smiled and opened my mouth to answer when Dereks ehad popped up from bhind Carlies, "Derek!" i said. Charlie took his arm back and sat back, "What are you doing?" I asked. " I cam eup here to hear you sing baby, you did a great job." He leane din and kissed me, I nticed that hi eyes swept the tale and all eight of the guys I was sitting with. "Are you gonna come back tthe pool room now?" "Yeah, " I said, gimme a minute and I'll be back there. He cast another nervouse glance, "Alright." He stood up and walked back. I looked around the table at Charlie and Randy, they were both grinning. "I take it that's your boyfreind?" Carlie said. "Yeah, " I said. Kyle looked after him, Derek was meduim height and built. He had long black hair tied back into a ponytail, but instead of giving off that biker vibe, he had stoner written all over him. "Rachel, what are you doin' with a hippie?" I laughed, "Opposites attract." Randy leaned in, "Is that guy reallly your boyfreind?" I nodded, "Is that so hard to beleive?" "Well, lookin' at you an dlookin' at him, yes." I shook my had, "He's a nice guy." Randy took another drink of his beer, "If you say so honey." I shook my head and sat back, the guy singing was done and they called a group of girls up. They all stood around the microphone laughing. the music started, it was an old country song. Some people got up to dance and I watched them. I felt a tug on my sleeve, I looked over at Randy, he smling at me, "You wanna dance?" "Huh?" He held his hand out, "I didn't stutter." I looked around and smiled, i felt a blush heat up my face. "Hell yes I wanna dance." He wtood up and i followed him. He cam around and took my hand. We walke dover to a tiny clear spot next to some slot machines. "Do you know how to dance? he asked. "Eh, sort of." I laughed, "Me too," He laughed, "let's see what we can do." He pulled me to him and took one f my hands, wrapping his other arm around my waist. He started and I followed, when he twirled me around I ealry lost it. This cowboy was sweeping me off my feet. When the song finished i sat down and he kicked Charlie out of his seat next to me. "Have fun?" Kyle asked. I smild and laughed, Randy rubbed my ack, "You tahc your cousin how to dance too?" Kyle shook his head, "Don't even think about bonin' my cousin Randy." Charlie laughed, "H won't, he's got a girlfreind." I smiled and looked at Randy, "And I've got a boyfreind." He smiled down at me and smiled at him , our eyes locked. "Yeah I know." He said. "And it sucks."

Blurp
I sat on our bed,the red silk sheets covering me. He stood in the doorway looking atme with darl blue eyes. The moonlight surrounded him making his face dissapear in shadows. "Don't look at me like that." he said turning his face away. I pulled the sheets closer around me and scooted to the end of the bed, "How do you wantmetolook at you?" He ran a hand through his short black hair, "Hatered would be better than what I see in those green eyes." I scoffed and shook my head, "Oh but I do hate you,I hate you more than naything walking on this planet." He looked back at me, his eyes letting me know he got the comment. "You knew going into this what I was,who I was, what do you want from me?" I layed back on the bed, this fight, one we had had hundereds of times, was finally starting to wear on me. "I want to be with you Raymond, I want us to be us. I don't care what people say, words are words, " I sat up and looked at him," but what I feel for you is somethign I've been missing a long time." He cast a nervouse glance out the door towards the horizon, "Michelle, " he sighed,"You know I want you, you know every part of me knows we were meant to be together, but what kind of life would we live? We couldn't have children, I know you want childeren, I couldn't support you, our lives would be so seperate it would eventually tear us apart." I stood up holding the sheets around me. The fact that the silk was warm brought back a sudden rush of feelings from that evenings, of the use we had gotten out of them. "I can't keep doing this. I amgoing to grow old some day and you won't want me. Then I'll be alone and heart broken, driven mad byt he fact that the oneman I wanted-" "You have your pick of men!" "I don't want them Raymond! Dammit I want you! Why can't you see that?" He moved towards me with supernatural speed and swept me into his arms. his face inches from mine, I could see the tips of his fangs, "Then leave me Michelle. Walk away from me because you know I would let you. You know I would never come back." I triedto fight his grip, i tried to fight the tears. I had been trying to fight the fact that he could never feel for me what I felt for him. "I'm just a goodtime, areplacable good time huh?" He smiled then, his beautiful lips parting to make his face glow down at me. "Michele you are one of a kind. Losing you would be like losing a part of myself I never knew I had until I found you." He sighed and sat me down, "But I can not expect you to change everything about who and hwt you are simply because i love you." The air in the room grew thick. I looked at him and his eyes avoided mine. "I know Raymond," I said, "But I would.." He laughed and shrugged his shoulders, I waited another moment and felt the anger growing again in the pitof my stomach, "Don't fill ym head with thesesilly things, these meaningless words, and then lautyh about it. I mean to be realistic about it I would probably grow to hate you so muich for making me give upp my life in the light, and eventually we would leave each other, but what I want noow is standing here and it will not listen to me. Will notacknowledge me. And if I walk out that door you'll let me. You would go down to your coffin and fall asleep for a hundered years and forget about me, or write poems about me on tavern wals, ro whatever poetic things your kind does. And meanwhile I would be miserable wishing for you." "I am sorry Michelle. " I dropped the sheets and felt a cold slapof air from the door. Raymond closed it as I pulled my jeans and hoodie on. "Don't worry,"I said,"I'll do my best to quit you." I said as I brushed past him. He touched my arm as past by, "And I'll do my bestto love you."

Falling cards prt 2
Thirteen years later I stood in front of my training school. My mother dropped me off with a kiss and drove away. I stood there looking at the plain building in front of me. Grey walls, double doors, and a small sign out front, District 212 Server Training School. I gripped my uniform apron in my hand and started the long walk to the doors. I stopped and turned when i heard van doors closing and girls yelling. "Good luck dears, have fun!" A woman called. Three girls ran around the front and yelled back their good-byes. One girl was tall and brunette, her apron already tied around waist and a gold star pinned to it, She was in her second year. The next girl was shorter with cropped dark hair. She was round with a big smile on her face as she tied her apron on, two stars decorated her apron, she was in her last year. Finally a tall blonde stopped and turned, "Mom wait!" She ran to the leaving van, "Mom my apron!" The van squeeled to a halt and the girl ran over to the door and jumped in. When she came back she was panting with her apron in her hands, "Way to start your training Lisa, leaving your apron." The girls all laughed and I smiled, one of thm caught my eye and I quikly turned back to the doors and started walking. "Hey," The tall girl called, "Are you new here?" I stopped and turned, "Yes." I said. She smiled, looked at her sisters and ran up to me, "Me too, My name's Lisa, fourth generatioin server. What's your name?" I smiled, "Christy, first generation server." "Well Christy, good to meet ya." I took her hand, "Good to meet you too Lisa."

Falling cards prt 1
Imagine a worl where everything is decided for you from the day you were born. A world where how you were born, and what gifts you had decided where you went to school, what job you had, and how high you can climb on that job ladder. That's the world I come from, and this is my story. I was born on a nondescript day in May. My mother was a nurse, my father a doctor. Everyone figuerd I would come out with healing hands or at least psychic knowhow. My mother was in labor for fourteen hours, my father stood next to her holding her hand, reassuring her. Finally they heard the magic saying, "I see the head! A few more good pushes!" My mother pushed my father smiled. "A little more.!" A came out and took my first breath of air screaming. "It's a girl!" My mothers head fell back onto her pillow and tears fell fromt he corners of her eyes. My father squeezed her hand and walked over to see his new baby girl. They looked down at me and for the first minute just took me in. "Her hands," my father said, "does she have the hands?" He took my tiny little hands in his own looking for the slight glow that accompanied healing hands. His face fell slightly, "No hands." My mother sat up in the bed, "Let me hold my baby." My father shot her a look as the doctor washed me off. That's when he saw it, saw my marking, "Dr. Locus," he said. My father walked over to the little sink. The doctor nodded toward my little legs. My father looked at the doctor and reached down to my legs. He ran his hands around them, noticed how strong they were for a newborn, he ran his hands down and cupped my tiny feet and found the callousses already forming. "My God what is this?" he almsot yelled. "My baby," My mother cried, "Let me see my baby!" "Shutup Gloria!" My mother began to cry, "Is something wrong?" My father looked back at the doctor, "Her tounge, check her tounge." The doctor caught my jaw and held it open looking for the silver spoon or ball. He shook his head. My father threw up his arms, "What kind of joke is this?" With that he stormed out of the delivery room. My mother reached out for him as he passed by, he shrugged her off with a yell. She fell back and continued her crying, "Can I please see my baby now?" The doctor wrapped me up and smiled a sad smile at my mother. "Here you are Mrs. Locus, a baby girl." My mother held me tight in her arms and kissed my forehead. I quieted. "What's her name?" The doctor asked. My mother was lost for a moment and then looked up, "Christina Mayrose." The doctor smiled, then announced, "Today, the fifth of May, two thousand and fourty-six, at seven twenty-six PM, Dr. John Locus and Mrs. Gloria Locus have given birth to Christina Mayrose Locus, future waitress." My mother looked up at him with huge eyes, "Future what?" The doctor looked down at her, "Future waitress ma'am."

Man Eater
The lights flahsed around me as I let the music pull me towards it. Sweat poured down my body making my long black hair stick to me as I spun. Men everywhere were staring, watching me, wanting me. I smiled at my girlfreinds as we continued to dance and sing with the booming music. Then it happenned. Almost as if on cue, someone knew we were having to much fun. It seemed as if the music itself got quieter when the door opened and she walked in. Of course, it did. "Shit." said my freind. I ran my hand through my tangled wet hair and cursed between pants. She walked in like a train, sexuality radiated from her very being. I knew her for what she was, a siren, but the men in here didn't, and it's hard to get some booty when your competition happenns to be a supernatural goddess of sex. She walked straight through the middle of the club making the jaws drop. It wasn't the first time I'd seen her here. Her long blonde hair fell to her waist like gold, icy blue eyes sent their gaze over me and I felt it in the most intimate places. "Let's get out of here." My freind said. I looked at her with a grin, "C'mon she can't control all the guys in here." Mauri frowned at me, "I just want to ahve soem stress free fun tonight." I shook my head, "Once she's done with her little stunt we can get back to having fun. Just let her have her fun for a minute." Mauri sighed and took a step back. I fanned myself and watche dher get a drink. Immediantly three men offered out cash to pay for it. I smiled, c'mon girlie get bored with it. After a few moments her enchantment on the music lifted and the bass was slamming through my body again. Mauri smiled at me as we began to dance again. I felt it hit me like a thousand butterflies on the back of my neck. She had turned her gaze to me. I didn't turn around, I kenw what she could do. I danced closer to Mauri and Kat, hoping to get off her radar. Her footsteps were like cracks of a whip, everyone got out of the way as she made her way toward me. Mauri looked at me with panic on her face. I bit my lip. Falling under the spell of a Siren was not on my to do lidt tonight. The music blasted louder as she got closer, it was almost painful. I looked around us and saw everyones attewntion focused on her. I knew she had to be right behind me. I was horribly aroused and the need to turn around was almost impossible to resist. Finally she reached out and touched me, that's whe I lost it. It was like someone had touched me everywhere I loved and she turned those beautiful eyes to me. She pulled me into a kiss and I felt myself losing control. My hands wandered her body and she kissed my neck and chest. People stopped and stared, men and women. I knew I was dry humping another woman in front of them but no part of me cared. She pulled my hair and held my head back. I moaned as she kissed my neck and down between my breasts. I grabbed her hair and pulled her up to face me. I kissed her on the mouth hard and deep using my tonge and hands. Our hands roamed each others bodies and out lips explored each other until I felt was about to orgasm. Finally she reached down between my legs and touched me. I lost it. Right there in front of a crowd of easily four hundered peopel I screamed and orgasmed right there. I felt myself drench my panties and felt her own release at bringing me pleasure. We looked at each other. I kenw my face was flushed, hers was too. Sweat was shining on her face. She leaned over and kissed me one more time. I kissed her back and when she let go of me I fell to the floor. I watched the long swingin blonde hair wakl out the door. Marui sat down next to me with a grin on her face, "That was hot."

Woods
It started as most of our weeknights started, boring and slow. Michael, Amber, and I sat on the front porch waiting on Rob to come out of the house. I pushed the swing a little rocked back and forth, my patience growing mroe and mroe thin.
"I am so glad we drove out here so I could stare at the cars go by."
"His fault." I said as I lit up another ciggertte.
Amber and Mike looked at me, Mike grinned, "I'm sure he'd love that." I took a drag and grinned, "Rob always loves it when I smoke for him." We all laughed, I had start smoking a week after meeting Rob. He hated it but for me it was a release. At twenty there wasn't much else I coudl legally do.
I heard the screen door close and the three of us stood up as Rob walked around the corner. We'd been together almost three months but still sometimes the sight of him caught me of guard. Tall, broad shoulderd with short blonde hair and green eyes. he stood there loooking at us with flashlights in hands.
"You guys ready?"
I walked by him and punched him in the arm, Mike laughed, "She never let's you ahve a break does she?" Rob rubbed his arm, "I guess not."
We walked down the steps to my car, I pulled the keys out and once on the other side Amber stopped me, "Are we seriously going out to the woods at this time of night?" Her blue eyes were concerned, I smiled, "What's gonna happen? the boogeyman gonna get us?" Amber slapped my arm and we slid into the car.
Rob and I drove in silence while Mike and Amber laughed and rolled around in the back. That's the way it was, they were toucy feely, laughing, open about their affection. Rob was lucky if I'd give him a quick kiss in public. In our short time together it amazed me how different our relationship was form theirs, how we were mroe intimate than open.
I pulled down the gravel road and stopped at the clearing right outside the park. "Son of a bitch." Amber said from the back. I turned around, "What?" She smiled, "I forgot to grab my hoodie, I'm gonna freeze!" Mike sat up and slipped out of his jacket, "Here, you can wear this. Your smile keeps me warm." Amber grinned at him and took the jacket, I looked at Rob and we almost let the laughter explode.
Rob and I were first out of the car. In the cover of the darkness he walked over and kissed me. "I missed you." he whispered. "I know." I smiled. He kissed me again and Amber opened ehr door. Mike stood up on the other side and shined the flashlight on us. "Ooooh spooky." I rolled my eyes and took Robs hand as I headed for the trail.
"Where's it at?" Amber asked as we stared at what appeared to be overgrown terrain. "Right over here." I pulled Rob toward the small openeing. "Are you serious?" Amber asked. I turned around and looked at her, "There's not even a moon out tonight." she said. I lifted the flashlight in my ahnds, "That's why we have these." "This is kind of creepy." Mike said pulling Amber closer.
I stopped and looked around. it was early October and the weather was perfect, the dried leaves coverd the ground, clouds were shadowing the moon making it darker. A breeze blew threw the trees bring sounds and smells from deeper in the woods. I smiled, "It's perfect."
Rob tugged my hand and pulled me intot he trail still looking back at the other two. They followed slowly as we dove straight in.
We ran as fast and as far as we could, further up the trail away from Mike and Amber. Robs hand never left mine as we dodged tree roots and hit spider webs. A good fifty feet in we collapsed laughing. I fell on the ground with a thump and in a minute Rob was on top of me laughing and trying to catch his breath.
"Do you think they'll find us?" I laughed. "The trail only goes one way." He smiled. I grinned and kissed him, pulling him the rest of the way down. We laid there in the leaves and dirt for a moment and then the tickling began, me first then him as we rolled around bumping into trees and laughing.
It had been probably a half an hour when i finally realized Amber and Mike weren't walking happily down the trail, I sat up and looked around, "Shouldn't they be here by now?" Rob sat up and brushed the leaves from his hair, "They should ahve been here a while ago."
I got out my phone and flipped it open, "I'll text her." Rob stood up while I pushed the butons on my phone. When i closed it the woods seemed darker, and bigger. The breeze seemed to have picked up and my sweatshirt didn't seem like much protection.
Rob turned around and offered me a hand and pulled me up. I dusted off my backside and stared at my phone. "Where are they?" Rob started walking towards the beginning of the trail, "We'll go find them. They're probably sitting at the car pissed off."
I fell into step behind him and we walked for what seemd like an hour. Rob stopped, "I know we should be out by now." I looked around us, int he dakness it all looked the same. "I'm gona text her again." Rob came behind me and put his hands on my shoulders while I typed. I flipped the phone closed and he nuzzled my ear. 'You're so hot when you text." I laughed, "You think I'm hot when i do anything." He laughd into my neck, a breeze along my skin, "To true."
I turned around and threw my arms aroud his neck and kissed him. The wind picked up and i pushed myself closer to his body letting his hands have a little mroe freedom. My phone beeped and I jumped, "There they are." I flipped it open and looked, one new text message. "What's it say?" Rob asked. I looked at the screen again, "itt doesn't say anythingm, it's just a page." "She paged you?" I nodded, Amber and I texted like mad. Even sitting next to each other, a page wasn't her.
I looked at Rob and he shrugged, "Guess we'll just keep walking." He took my hand and we walked on. We walked on that trail until my feet hurt and I was sure my curfew was coming dangerously close. i opened my phone and tried to call Amber, then Mike, no answer.
"I'm starting t get a little creeped." I said. Rob looked around, "Me too. We should have been halfway home by now." I ran my hands through my hair and looked around. The woods were so full of tiny noises it was comforting, but the lack of light was beginning to get to me. Rob just put his hand on my shoulder, "Only one thing to do." he said "Keep walking." i frowned.
Another twnety minute passed before it all happenned. Roba nd I walked towards our fates and had no idea as I texted and called that eventually someone would get my texts.
We came upon a small opening int he trail and Rob looked at me, "Won't hurt to try. maybe it's a campground. Those are always close to exits." I shrugged and we walked in. Looking back now I guess I should have smelled or even heard soemthing odd. Somethig not right. it wasn't that the woods were quiet, it was that they were beginning to get deafening. I blamed it on nerves. The fact that I thought I was lost in the woods at night.
The first obvious sign was the glow coming from around the corner, but at the time, it seemed normal, our sanctuary. 'Awesome, "Rob said, "campers." "on a Tuesday night in october?" He looked back at me and shrugged.
We turned the corner and found the fire, it was blazing brightly. That's when the smell finally hit me. the smell of dead things. I woudl always say to people when they talked about somethign smelling like death that you can't just say that. Dead, rotting things only smell like one thing, and that is dead rotting things. So when the scent hit me full force I nearly gagged.
Doubled over and consumed by the smell i didn't see what Rob saw. When he tried to push me back I didn't move. I stood up with and looked ahead. I felt the bile coming up my throat and lost it. Above the fire were two dead and blackened corpses, from the waist down they were nothing, burned away. On the ground lay deer heads sitting on human corpses. Each of them staring at me.
Rob turned and looked at me, his normally tanned face lacking any color. "Run." he mouthed. "what?" i whispered. Yeah, it was stupid, but I was in tears and convulsions of vomit. He pushed me lighly and said it again, "Run baby, run." but the words just weren't making any sense. I looked at him as I doubled over and let my stomach contents hit the ground.
He pulled me up almost in slow motion. I felt cold and clammy, my teeth were rattling but for some reason i was strangely calm on the inside. It was like outside was a storm and i stood in a house, safe and away from it.
He started pushing me, turning me around, when we heard someone stomping through the woods and the muted screams of Mike and Amber. We stopped and turned around. Not thinking to hide or to run. We just watched.
A man came out of the woods, naked fromt he waist up. His hair fell in matted clumps down his back and dirt caked him. He stepped over the bodies and deer heads like they weren't there. He threw Mike down and wth a quick stomp ended his struggles. I watched in cold, dead horror as he took Amber and tied her to the tree.
She stood there naked and helpless as the man walked over to Mike and pulled his limp body up. I started walkin backwards, I opened my mouth to scream but Rob met my eys. Tears fell silently down his face as he begged me not to do it. please don't give us to this monster.
I watched as the man knelt down between Mikes legs and removed his gentalia. Mikes eyes flung open with a scream aroudn the gag. the man stood up with it in his hands. All of it, not just one part. Rob fell down and threw up right there. I felt the scream growing in my throat again. But I felt like I was watchign a movie. Like I was staring at somethign so distant it wasn't as if Ic ould walk out and possibly save my freinds.
Mike lay there screaming, Rob dry heaved in front of me, his stomach already out of anything to give. The man walked over to Amber and ran Mikes lost and bloody member across her face. "How many times did he touch you with this? how many times did he make you moan with pleasure, when it hsould have been pain!"
The man slapped her across the face and took his knife with a quick swipe and drove it into her stomach. Amber cried out and her head fell forward. "Bastard." i said under my breath. Slowly I felt the feeling creeping into my being. The man threw his prize down and looked at Mike laying unconcious on the ground.
Rob stood up and looked at me. His face red and swollen. "Run." he said again.
I looked back and saw the man on his knees in front of Amber, his face pressed into her crotch. Amber was crying and screaming, her hands struggling. "Bastard." i said again. I was starting to feel my consious knocking on my brain.
"Baby run." Rob pleaded.
Finally Amber managed to kick him onto the ground. He looked up at her and there is no oubt in my mind he smiled. He smiled before he rolled up and shoved the knife deep into her. he pulled it out and put it back in. "Is this what it felt like?" He screamed. Amber screamed and cried, kicking her legs and begging for death.
I felt it then. The adrenalin, the heat creeping into my body and into my lungs. Rob saw it too and tried to stop me. he tried to grab me as I plundged forward, giving no thought to whther I lived or died these horible deaths. I took a log from the fire as I marched across the clearing. Amber saw me and tried to reach for me, scream for me, anything. "Shutup." i yelled at her. The man turned aroud in time to see the flaming log hit his face. he went down but not without dragging the blade across my legs. I pulled the log up again and slammd it into himm, again, and again, and again. Each tmie i stepped closer. If only I had stood still.
he reached out finally and slit my akleis tendon, sending me tot he ground and my log rolling across the clearing. I looked up and met his eyes. His blue peircing eyes and he grinned at me. His face was a bloody mask, "Don't you knwo what pain does to me baby?"
I pulled myself with my arms, army crawling as fast as I could. I looked toward where I had been standing and saw Rob staring. I didn't expect him to help me and I didn't want to give him away. I heard the man stand up and walk behind me as I lay there. i heard Ambers screams. I felt him cut my pants off and slide my underwear off. I looked at Rob the whole time. I saw his eyes go from dead to slowly living. When the man spread my legs and began to lower himself down it was like a lightbulb flashed on in Robs mind. He came out, the unusd maglight in his hands and racked the man across the head.
He fell off me and Rob stomped until the only thing left was his neck. I heard his skull cracking, his screams. He slahed and slashed at Rob but nothing was stopping him. When his head was just a clump of meat and bone he kept stomping. I sat up and looked at AMber hanging limply from ehr bindings. Mike was dead, no doub about it. Amber had a chance.
I rolled over to my shredded pants and pulled out mycellphone. I dialed nine one one and told them about where we were. At least where we thought we were.
I laid back down, my body aching and the tears beginning to come again. Rob stopped stomping and the woods felt eerily quiet. "Come here baby." I said reaching my hand out. He looked at me with empty eyes. I kenw then that his sanity hadn't made it through the night. He sat down and pulled my face into his lap. He held me and stroked my hair until the police came.
THe next morning they found us. Amber was dead. Mike wa dead. They put me on a stretcher and took me to the hospital where I found I won't be able to walk again.
Rob they took to the PSB and booked him for murder. I've told them the story a hundrd timesbut they won't listen. I go see him at the jail and hold his hand and tell him it'll be alright. He looks at me with thoses still empty eyes. When they let us have congeigl visits all eh does is hold me. Sits me in his lap and breathes me in for an hhour. He touches me softly and looks at me over and over. making sure I'm okay.

Margaret
Oct. 9th
I saw the most beautiful man today. He was walking between classes with the sun in his eyes and the wind blowing his black hair. I almost melted right there. I don't know his name or anything about him but I know that I will marry him.
Oct. 10th
I sat on the same bench today hoping to catch a glimpse of my husband. I saw him once, he had a ciggerette in his mouth. After class I bought a pack of ciggerettes and a lighter. I hope he'll notice.
Oct 12th
He walked by me today and I caught his eye. It was amazing. He has brown eyes, so dark I think they're black. He wa slighting a ciggerette and I smiled and took a drag. Oh he loves me. I love him.
Oct. 13th
No sightings today, i sat on the bench for three hours, smoking ciggerettes and trying to appear sexy. Maybe he's sick. I know he probably missed seeing me.
Oct.16th
All weekend I shopped looking for clothes he would like. I bought some new jeans and shirts and some perfume. I bought some earrings that are big and silver, I hope maybe they'll catch his eye.
Oct. 17th
He talked to me today!!!!!!! He asked me, just like this, "Can I bum a smoke?" and I smiled so big, he'll probably think about my smile all day, 'Of course." Then I handed him a ciggeette. "Can I borrow a light too?" and then he SMILED!!!! I gave him my lighter and he lit up and gave it back, then he WINKED AT ME!!! "Thanks." It was a good day. Oh he noticed me. Oh I am so happy. He looked at me with thoses eyes and spoke to me with those lips.
Oct.19th
I saw him today. He was walking with some girl. She had long brown hair. Big green eyes. She smiled at me when they walked by. He said hi. I think I'll just rip out her pretty eyes.
Oct. 20th
She sat with me today. Like I want her near me. "Hi there, I'm Lucy." "Hi. I'm Margaret." I light up a ciggerette. She grimaces and then smiles at me, "A guy I'm talking to smokes those too." I smile at her, "THat's nice." Silence. "Why are you sitting here by yourself?" "I like silence." She looks at ehr hands. "Well I just thought I'd tell you my freind Ross thinks your cute. He wants to know what you're going to b for Halloween." I almost throw up on her. "I don't know." She smiles, "Well when you do, I'm sure he'd love to know." Then she leaves. I am so happy. I hope Ross is who I think it is.

Letter to my love (4)
Weeks have passed and I apologize again but this life I ahve chosen has taken me frm what I thought was importnt Last night I met a man and he calle dme beautiful. He touched my face and lips and said I was an angel. I smiled at him and thought of dying there with his hands on me. Woudl he find em ebautiful then? I ahve been thining about the geater scheme of things. Wondering what signifigance one mroe death woudl make. think little to none. I will put on the mask tonight for the fitst time in years. oh how I missed it. I played the piano a few nights ago and I remeberd what I felt like to have the music flow down my hands into my heart, into my life. It brought air to me, it reminded me why I do what I do. I know you love the music too. You must never forget it. Staring at the clock int he cafe. I probably look like a homeless person sitting here wet and soggy with dirt lilned paper and a pen I stole from a vendor. Men look at me when they walk in. I tire of their attentionis. My body and soul. I long for the intellegance of a woman. The intimancy of a freind. Home is hwere she is but here i will ahve to make due for home, and life, is nowhere I want to be.

Letter to my love (3)
It has beena few days since I wrote to you I aplogize.
I am inthe train station again looking at the people. None of themnotice me.
A man next to me is speaking on his phone, helooks over at my lett5er now and then.
I spoke with my darling last nightand told him of you. He smiled his black grin and told me I was lucky.
I have not thought of death for a day nowand I think it missed me for it came roaring back into my mind this morning. Covering thoughts of you with images of cold darkness.
I love thesound ofthe conductors yelling, it just makes me smile. Like the sky scrapers in New York and the feilds in Kansas.
Like the pond, the snow, like you.
I wish you would come see me again. Just once, even if just for a moment.
I must go now a man is coming to me, he is smiling. Nothing like you, but beautiful.
Again I will write you my love.
