Mission to Kenya Requests 100 Crosses
Current mood: cheerful

What a wonderful work! Missionary John Oboyo Njoni from Kenya has requested we send 100 crosses to him just as soon as we get them completed. His mission is called Christian Hope and he also has a website which is http://www.freewebs.com/chccentre.

Right now his mission is in need of clothing for 3-13 year olds and anything else they can get.

It's so good to be able to use our God-given skills to promote His word!

We've now got 72 women on our list of crochet partners within 1 week of launching.

I've also started a Yahoo! Group which is CrossesForChrist. It keeps everyone informed of what's happening and you can post there as well.

We could use this site too for a bulletin and when friends start gathering - that's exactly what we'll do.

You'll be able to receive information on Crosses for Christ in many locations (MySpace and Yahoo! Groups are the main sources, but we also post at Missionary Resources - missionaryresources.org)

Let's get cracking on those crosses! WE've got a great work ahead of us but by working together we can accomplish much.

If everyone just made 3-5 each, can you believe how many crosses we could make? That's a bunch!

Today is a glorious day so Praise God for all His wisdom and the beauty that surrounds us in our daily walk with Him.

Yours in Christ,

April

Crosses for Christ Reaching the World
Current mood: excited
Category: Religion and Philosophy

WOW! One week has passed and 65 women are now crocheting for Crosses for Christ.

In addition to our crocheting partners, we've also gotten more requests which we will continue to manage.

What is really interesting is the enthusiasm and the swift nature of God when we do His calling.

Today, I'm sending out the first crosses to a woman and her son in Chicago. They are going through some trying times and need a bit of support for their faith. It is so exciting to be blessed by sharing with others.

So many times we don't share our "crafting" talents because we don't know what we can do. By becoming a crochet partner with Crosses for Christ, people from all over the world are able to donate their skill, time and God-given talent to brighten another's day and spread the love of Jesus.

Hope is what these people need and we can provide missionaries and individuals throughout the world with a wonderful message. God loves them and we care.

Joining together to further God's work is our priviledge and we do it gladly.

Praise God for the ability we can share with the world.

Sincerely,

April

WE'RE GROWING!
Current mood: ecstatic
Category: Religion and Philosophy

God works in mysterious ways!

We've all heard that a million times but it's really true. Recently ( and when I say recently I mean 4 days ago!), I started crocheting crosses for missionaries in the field.

It's a big job which God placed on my heart and He has developed it in just a short time into a network of women wanting to help missionarys around the world.

Four days ago, it was just me, WE'VE GROWN TO 42 WOMEN wanting to share their time and talent with people in different countries and provide missionaries with crocheted cross bookmarks. Wow - how quickly God works when He wants to get something done!

So what are we doing? Well - we've now got a project which we need to supply 200 crosses to a missionary going to Liberia. He will be visiting an orphanage and two villages. Then we've got 200 to crochet for a leprosy hospital in Havannah, Cuba and another 300 which will be going to the Phillipines. Shortly after that we'll be working on a project for India for women ministering to other women in the Red Light District there.

How can you help?

There are many things to do but one way is to email me and I'll send you a free pattern for a cross if you're a crocheter. Another way is to spread the word to all churches and organizations who are helping to send the message of Jesus throughout the world.

Next, we need supply support! That's right! Money isn't everything but supplies are needed. I will be creating a list of supplies which will be needed to fulfill the work of sending the crosses overseas.

We are currently using an organization in Kansas City, MO to send out crosses to certain locations. However, what is happening is we are getting requests which are not part of the distribution center and are having to process these ourselves. In doing so, we need your help with postage, paper, space, etc.

This is how we work. People make the crosses and send them to us, then we attach a scripture to them. Next we send them to the designated location, either the distribution center or directly to the missionary.

As you can see, it's a big job so ANY AND ALL SERVICES you can help with are appreciated.

Thanks again for your support and interest in Crosses For Christ and may God Bless You in all your endeavors!
