This place is amazing.  I’ve been checking it out for a while.  The first time I went there was for a journalism class I had two years ago dealing with religion and the press, I think... it was a great class and I learned alot about "hidden" spiritual and religious pockets here in Columbia.  Anyway... the first time I went, there was this woman who gave a great overview about the place and the philosophies of Hinduism (or Sanatama Dharma) and it blew me away.

So I knew I was going to come back to the place.  I went back a year later with a friend of mine and had a great time.  But it’s on another side of town than where I’m at so it kind of took me a while to get back.

So a few weeks ago, I started going again.  It’s pretty cool.. some of the priests do not know alot of english but they are nice.  I had a deep talk with a Brahmin priest there this Sunday.  It blows my mind, honestly.  I feel like I’ve been searching for a place like this for a while and didn’t know it or even expect it.  I was getting more interested in Hinduism and other branches of indian mysticism from alot of friends and yogis I have talked to and it was just kind of increasing more and more.  Plus, I was having a few deep dreams of going to hindu temples and meeting hindu yogis.  There is so much I want to type and yet at the same time, I cannot put it in words... I get kind of blissed out when I think of this place and anything in connection to it.  I’m just humbled... and want to explode at the same time...

Brian on Religion, Love, and Truth

I respect all religions and the choices that human beings make personally in their lives to connect to God and themselves.  For me, however, I learned very early that religion is not for me and that I am more free connecting to the divine through love, pure and simple.

  I am mainly into pagan religions, ancient practices from Kemetic (Egyptian) and Vedic (Hinduism) interpretations, Celtic and African religions like Wiccan, Yoruban and tribal traditions, etc.  I love Eastern philosophies from Taoism, Buddhism, and Shintoism as well.  I love Nature and I love the Universe, the Cosmos, pure and absolute love, and my inner self which a reflection of all creation, love, peace, wisdom, hope, and eternity.  I love infinite connection, and I think even some Judeo-Christian stuff is great like Psalms and Proverbs, which has alot of wisdom, and the Koran has some cool stuff in it too (I like how it refers to God as the Infinite, Compassionate etc.)  There are some things I don't like about religions too but I take what works for me and I live my life, do what I do as an individual, and connect with others through love.

Science can be cool, but is constantly evolving and unsure of itself... haha.

I personally do not see myself ever subscribing to a religion, and that is fine for now, because time changes and I do not set anything in stone.  I know that sometimes people can have racist, homophobic, sexist, and discriminating philosophies that they believe are convictions to their faiths, and I can only hope that one day, that changes, and that people open up to the truth that we are all one love, one god, one hope, one future.

That future is now.  That love is now... that hope is now... eternity is all around us.  We must be the love that we see for this Universe...

It's okay to go through negativity.  The Universe shifts constantly.  Women have periods for a reason- to release energy.  We all need to release energy, biologically, spiritually, as much as we need to recieve it.  Be open to the Universe, love, be true.  No matter what religion, race, sex, or whatever, know that you are the Universe and that you are a reflection of Nature that is around you and that honestly could shift in the blink of an eye.

No matter what others say, how others judge you, how the world around you acts and reacts, you must stay true to yourself.  You must love yourself even when you feel that your love is being rejected and misunderstood.  You must love because love is the source of who you are, and be because there is no other way but to be.  When we allow ourselves to be who we are and feel all that we are without constraint, we can free ourselves of these worldly chains we have created for ourself.  Life is beautiful, experience is beautiful, and human beings are beautiful.  Be free, be free, be free, even when no one else understands your vibe or who you are.  Things will change, things will flow, constant and forever.  It is our choice as to how we handle the tides.

Everyday, every moment, someone is judging someone.  Someone is putting someone else down.  But whenever we do this, we only limit ourselves.  We become lost in maya, or illusion, and we cannot escape ourself without facing ourself.  It always comes back to the source, for we never have left each other, and we never will.  Love as it is the law of everything.  These things I say have been said in many different ways by many different people and many different traditions and yet it remains the same for all. 

Ego is only a bag to carry on our shoulders but it is not who we truly are.  It is only a bag of lessons.  How we live life and identify ourselves as people are only clothes to wear but they are not the naked truth.  The naked truth has and always will be love.  And love will never become tired and can only be cliche in the mind.  It is beyond cliche, beyond illusion, beyond lies, beyond the mind and the world of thoughts and illusions, it is pure and real, love and reasoning, love, be love!!!!  Truth, be truth!!!  Free, be free!!!!

We are all free when we allow ourselves to look beyond the barrier and within the self... let us remember, let us remember, let us be, let us be, be free, be free, be free.....

Healing Ourselves Through Energy

I personally believe that we can educate ourselves more on healing through energy as well as natural substances, herbal medicines, and by basically developing more of an intuitive knowledge of who we are as individuals and what our bodies need.  Now I'm not saying avoid medical assistance at all, especially if you are in crucial pain, because it can be very helpful, but I do think looking at different sides of healing can give us more of an personal perspective.

Our bodies have energy centers and points that, if we understood them better, could really help us in healing and clearing out whatever we don't need on an energetic level.  Some people call these centers chakras.  There are many systems on how many chakras are in the body, but a popular one recognizes 7 along the spine from the center of the body (base chakra) to the head (crown).  There are also energy centers in your hands and feet, and some would even say in your joints like knees and elbows.

The chakras along the spine are known to radiate different colors.  They line in a way like a rainbow with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet (ROYGBIV).  Sometimes in pictures of the spinal chakras you will see the crown depicted as white.

Every now and then if I have a headache I like to breathe in and out deeply, focusing on the spot where I feel the pain in my head and imagine energy, usually as a clear light, going to the spot and cleansing it.  That also works for any other spot in the body.  I do it until I feel comfortable and there really isn't any set time for how long you should heal an area.

Mainly the power lies in visualization and trust.  You are basically using your mind's eye to scan your body for any energy that does need to be there.  Then, you are allowing higher energies to cleanse these places.  Now, I personally wouldn't recommend throwing all other practical ways of healing out the window, but I believe using energetic healing, especially alongside different practices, can speed up the healing process.

Learning alot about different colors, meridian points, and energy centers in the body can be pretty helpful.  I would be writing a novel if I spent any more time on this lol... but these are things I like to search in google from time to time.  There are so many sites to look at:

"chakra opening" (be careful, opening the chakras definately helps break blocks on energy centers but it can make you more sensitive to outside energies.  Alongside with looking up ways to open the chakras, look up things on "energy shields" or "energy protection")

How To Do Readings- Anyone Can Do It

How To Do Readings

1.  Clear your mind

2.  Focus the way you wish to.  For me, I like to do prayer and meditative breathing, asking my guides to assist me as I clear my lungs and focus on my mind becoming clear.  If you are agnostic, athiest, a hardcore materialist, or whatever, you don't have to look to a specific being or anything, just visualize your mind becoming clear and open.

3.  Trust yourself.  This is the most important thing.  Have a foundation of trust in yourself.

4.  Allow the messages to come to you.  They will be natural.   You will hear, see, feel or even smell and taste things that just naturally come to you.  Go with what you get.  If you second guess it, your thoughts are coming in and you are blocking your intuition.  When you read, it is important to "overcome the ego", meaning it is important to be selfless when you read in order to allow the energy to flow on its own.

5.  Say what you feel.  Say what is coming through to the person you are reading.

The more you trust yourself and the more you allow things to flow, the better the reading will be.

I saw Slyvia Browne yesterday

It was awesome.  I can't explain how happy I was to be there.  She came to Charlotte and me and my friends Justin and Kenny had to go.  Justin gave Slyvia and this other psychic lady some poetry from his book Miracles and Birdbaths.  She was just real and down to earth, really connected and had great energy.  Her love was just all around her, grounded and genuine.  Her advice and readings were straight forward and lacked ego or hatred, in my opinion.

She's going to have a book soon called Secret Societies, I'm really interested in what she is going to say in it.
