I’m Actually At A Loss For Words...
Current mood: enraged
I can honestly say that I've never in my life been so enraged and saddened at the same time. I saw a video online of a US Solider Throwing a puppy OFF A CLIFF and then LAUGHING about it. The sick fuck deserves to be pushed off a cliff!
I can't even wrap my head around the fact that there are people in this world who think mistreating an animal is amusing or entertaining in any way shape or form.
I really can't even begin to describe how deeply saddened at the fact that a dog probably died for no reason other than to serve as 30 seconds of amusement for a cruel and heartless person. I hope the cries of that puppy haunt him for the rest of his life. The poor dog did NOTHING to him and he found it funny to throw it off a cliff. Am I the only person who sees' this is as a sick and twisted moment in the course of the human race?
Please repost this!
A disturbing video making its way to millions of people online and in the news shows a soldier tossing what appears to be a yelping puppy end-over-end off a cliff in Iraq.

She’s Too Big, Now She’s Too Thin...

Tonight I got an email from an anonymous being, which contained photos of me that were taken off of my private account. The photos are from my Sophomore Year of High School.
Let me start by sharing the email with you (mind you now, this email also included the 4 photos which you'll see later in the blog...;
wow i was looking through your profile your really obsessed with thin right honey dont you remember these daysmy point exactly i dont mean to affend but youve took it way to far carissa you make it seem as if the only way people should look is thin? thin is not in so dont apply to it really im sure you would understand right just look back remember how you felt and how would you feel to go to someones profile and be the way you were back then and read thin is in? haha thought so rightt!
I apologize for the bad grammar and spelling- apparently they flunked English class.
I'd like to take this opportunity to clear a few things up;
In my Sophomore year of high school, I was more than 80 pounds overweight. I was made fun of for many years, everything from being 'moo'd' at, to having food thrown at me during Lunch. As I looked through magazines, and watched the E! channel- flipped through the Victoria's Secret catalogs, hell, even passing girls in the halls at school and local mall who were much thinner than myself, I never once envied them, or felt anger towards them. I never hated them, and I never tried to make them feel bad... I admired them with every fiber of my being... I wanted to be like them. So the Summer before my Junior year- I started to work. I changed my eating habits, and I worked out every night, and slowly the pounds began to come off. I worked hard. I became a Vegetarian, I regularly saw a nutritionist, in addition to following the rules set by my general practitioner, and I started to get healthier and stronger with each passing day.
I ran 5 miles a day- I did Yoga and Pilates. I did Striptease Aerobics with Carmen Electra and Michael Carson. Tae Bo With Billy Blanks, And Sculpted my body with Gilad. ...just to name a few.
I'm now happy to report, that I have never felt better, or stronger in my entire life. I have since made the full transition to Veganism this past year. Now I can eat as much as I want- because lets face it- I didn't gain 80 pounds too much because I hated food. I continue to exercise daily, as it has truly become not only a daily ritual, but a way of life. It makes me feel better, it maintains my weight and keeps my endorphins flowing at a healthy and happy rate.
And please bear in mind that I am not preaching to ANYONE to look or be like me. I think everyone needs to be happy with themselves and stop looking to others as their mood barometer. The problem was, I wasn't happy with myself as someone who was 80lbs overweight- But I'm in love with myself now. (And Thin IS IN... for me) Ironically the same people who once said I was too fat, are now saying I'm too thin. This doesn't matter to me though- I'm happy with myself, and I didn't get healthy to please anyone other than myself.
The sad part of this situation, is that this person tried to hurt me, by sending me photos of myself which I POSTED TO BEGIN WITH. If I had been ashamed of them, they would have gone through the paper shredder years ago. I wouldn't have put them on the internet if I didn't want people to see them. The only reason they were on my PRIVATE account was because I have been helping people get healthy and I wanted to show them that I once was in the same situation as they are in now, and that I can feel what they feel, and I know what they're going through. Most importantly, that if I can do it, THEY CAN TOO.
I am in no way ashamed of these photos- I'm damn proud of myself and how far I have come in my life. The people who have tried to hurt me by picking at my weight since elementary school have not hurt me- they've empowered me. By them consistently ridiculing me- it simply made me more and more determined to better myself in every way that I possibly could. To the guy who told me I would always be a cow- I'd like to thank him from the deepest depths of my heart- he gave me the power to run that extra mile, and do that extra sit-up.
So basically all that is left now- is the pictures! And here they are;
So, thats what I looked like 3 years ago. I've learned alot about Holistic Nutrition, and basic overall fitness and well-being. I've learned you REALLY are what you eat.
Most of all, though, I've learned that no matter where I go, or what I do in my life- there will ALWAYS be small-minded people who will try to hurt me in any way they possibly can.
....I feel sorry for them.

Hey Guys!
I hope everyone is having a very happy holiday season so far!
As we were all raised to believe, the Holidays are about Giving... so this Holiday, why not Give to those who really need it.

Mercy Corps is worldwide, helping countries all around the globe. But they are also giving much needed aid to the Gulf Coast. I visited the Gulf Coast for the first time when I was in 5th grade, and it captured my heart. From Biloxi Mississippi, down to the French Quarter in New Orleans, Louisiana... they all are still some of my favorite places to go... but they're still hurting, guys.
It's been more than 2 years since Katrina blasted the Gulf... do you know that some Firehouses still don't have everything they need to run? Some people have yet to step foot back in their homes. Put yourself there... 2 and a half years have passed and you're STILL not able to go home.
This year- give some help to those who are without. Mercy Corps is working with local organizations, businesses and residents to launch innovative rebuilding programs that will ensure that ongoing needs are met and communities become the agents of their own change. Your purchase of a Katrina Rebuilding Kit helps fund innovative, locally generated rebuilding programs in the Gulf region that create jobs while protecting the environment and preserving the area's unique culture and heritage.
Mercy Corps "Mercy Kits" are the best gifts anyone could give this holiday- and you can find out, and send one of the many there are to choose from by visiting the following link;

Through a Rapist's Eyes
This is important information for females of ALL ages. When this was sent to me, I was told to forward it to my women friends, but I forwarded it to everyone in my address book, including men who can share with the women in their lives.
A group of rapists and date rapists in prison were interviewed on what they look for in a potential victim and here are some interesting facts:
1) The first thing men look for in a potential victim is hairstyle. They are most likely to go after a woman with a ponytail, bun, braid or other hairstyle that can easily be grabbed . They are also likely to go after a woman with long hair. Women with short hair are not common targets.
2) The second thing men look for is clothing. They will look for women who's clothing is easy to remove quickly. Many of them carry scissors around specifically to cut clothing.
3) They also look for women on their cell phone, searching through their purse, or < B> doing other activities while walking because they are off-guard and can be easily overpowered.
4) Men are most likely to attack & rape in the early morning, between 5:00a.m. and 8:30a.m.
5) The number one place women are abducted from/attacked is grocery store parking lots. Number two: is office parking lots/garages. Number three: is public restrooms.
6) The thing about these men is that they are looking to grab a woman and quickly move her to another location where they don't have to worry about getting caught.
7) Only 2% said they carried weapons because rape carries a 3-5 year sentence but rape with a weapon is 15-20 years.
8) If you put up any kind of a fight at all, they get discouraged because it only takes a minute or two for them to realize that going after you isn't worth it because it will be time-consuming.
9) These men said they would not pick on women who have umbrellas , or other similar objects that can be used from a distance, in their hands. Keys are not a deterrent because you have to get really close to the attacker to use them as a weapon. So, the idea is to convince these guys you're not worth it.
10) Several defense mechanisms he taught us are: If someone is following behind you on a street or in a garage or with you in an elevator or stairwell, look them in the face and ask them a question , like what time is it, or make general small talk: 'I can't believe it is so cold out here,' 'we're in for a bad winter.' Now you've seen their face and could identify them in a line-up; you lose appeal as a target.
11) If someone is coming toward you , hold out your hands in front of you and yell STOP or STAY BACK ! Most of the rapists this man talked to said they'd leave a woman alone if she yelled or showed that she would not be afraid to fight back . Again, they are looking for an EASY target.
12) If you carry pepper spray (this instructor was a huge advocate of it and carries it with him wherever he goes) , yell I HAVE PEPPER SPRAY and holding it out will be a deterrent.
13) If someone grabs you , you can't beat them with strength but you can by outsmarting them If you are grabbed around the waist from behind, pinch the attacker either under the arm (between the elbow and armpit) OR in the upper inner thigh VERY VERY HARD . One woman in a class this guy taught told him she used the underarm pinch on a guy who was trying to date rape her and was so upset she broke through the skin and tore out muscle strands - the guy needed stitches. Try pinching yourself in those places as hard as you can stand it - it hurts.
14) After the initial hit, always GO for the GROIN . I know from a particularly unfortunate experience that if you slap a guy's parts it is extremely painful . You might think that you'll anger the guy and make him want to hurt you more, but the thing these rapists told our instructor is that they want a woman who will not cause a lot of trouble. Start causing trouble and he's out of there.
15) When the guy puts his hands up to you , grab his first two fingers and bend them back as far as possible with as much pressure pushing down on them as possible . The instructor did it to me without using much pressure, and I ended up on my knees and both knuckles cracked audibly.
16) Of course the things we always hear still apply. Always be aware of your surroundings , take someone with you if you can and if you see any odd behavior, don't dismiss it, go with your instincts!!!
You may feel a little silly at the time, but you'd feel much worse if the guy really was trouble.
1 . Tip from Tae Kwon Do : The elbow is the strongest point on your body. If you are close enough to use it, do!
2. Learned this from a tourist guide in New Orleans . If a robber asks for your wallet and/or purse, DO NOT HAND IT TO HIM . Toss it away from you...chances are that he is more interested in your wallet and/or purse than you, and he will go for the wallet/purse. RUN LIKE MAD IN THE OTHER DIRECTION!
3. If you are ever thrown into the trunk of a car, kick out the back tail lights and stick your arm out the hole and start waving like crazy. The driver won't see you, but everybody else will. This has saved lives.
4. Women have a tendency to get into their cars after shopping, eating, working, etc., and just sit (doing their checkbook, or making a list, etc.) DON'T DO THIS! The predator will be watching you, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to get in on the passenger side, put a gun to your head, and tell you where to go. AS SOON AS YOU GET INTO YOUR CAR, LOCK THE DOORS AND LEAVE.
5. If someone is in the car with a gun to your head DO NOT DRIVE OFF, repeat: DO NOT DRIVE OFF! Instead gun the engine and speed into anything, wrecking the car. Your Air Bag will save you. If the person is in the back seat they will get the worst of it. As soon as the car crashes bail out and run. It is better than having them find your body in a remote location.
A few notes about getting into your car in a parking lot or parking garage:
A.) Be aware: look around you, look into your car, at the passenger side floor, and in the back seat.
B.) If you are parked next to a big van, enter your car from the passenger door. Most serial killers attack their victims by pulling them into their vans while the women are attempting to get into their cars.
C.) Look at the car parked on the driver's side of your vehicle, and the passenger side. If a male is sitting alone in the seat nearest your car, you may want to walk back into the mall, or work, and get a guard/policeman to walk you back out.
IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO BE SAFE THAN SORRY. (And better paranoid than dead.)
6. ALWAYS take the elevator instead of the stairs. (Stairwells are horrible places to be alone and the perfect crime spot. This is especially true at NIGHT!)
7. If the predator has a gun and you are not under his control, ALWAYS RUN! The predator will only hit you (a running target) 4 in 100 times. And even then, it most likely WILL NOT be a vital organ. RUN, preferably in a zigzag pattern!
8. As women, we are always trying to be sympathetic: STOP! It may get you raped or killed. Ted Bundy, the serial killer, was a good-looking, well-educated man, who ALWAYS played on the sympathies of unsuspecting women. He walked with a cane, or a limp, and often asked 'for help' into his vehicle or with his vehic le, which is when he abducted his next victim.
9. Another Safety Point: Someone just told me that her friend heard a crying baby on her porch the night before last, and she called the police because it was late and she thought it was weird. The police told her 'Whatever you do, DO NOT open the door. The lady then said that it sounded like the baby had crawled near a window, and she was worried that it would crawl to the street and get run over. The policeman said, 'We already have a unit on the way, whatever you do, DO NOT open the door.' He told her that they think a serial killer has a baby's cry recorded and uses it to coax women out of their homes thinking that someone dropped off a baby. He said they have not verified it , but have had several calls by women saying that they hear baby's cries outside their doors when they're home alone at night.
Please pass this on and DO NOT open the door for a crying baby ----This should be taken seriously because the Crying Baby theory was mentioned on America's Most Wanted this past Saturday when they profiled the serial killer in Louisiana.
I would just like to say that I am overly pleased to annouce that a predominant knockoff handbag/jewelry vendor in my area has been shut down!! :D
Security agents that represented both Louis Vuitton and Rolex sent undercover buyers into the flea market this past weekend. The buyers proceeded to purchase items and then went on to alert the police.
The two owners of the knockoff stand were arrested and BOXES of knockoff merchandise was seized by the police.
See? It just goes to show you- if you take on the cause and pick up the phone, the design houses WILL take action!! Granted it may take some time- but its better to get the ball rolling than to just sit there and stare at it.
One down- MANY MORE TO GO!!!!

Maybe its because I grew up on 8 acres of land and saw Deer running around my property since I was a little girl. Maybe its because I realized how horrible the meat industry really is. Maybe its because yesterday a baby black bear sauntered through my backyard. Maybe its because I'm a vegetarian now. Maybe its' because I'm working hard to lead a cruelty-free lifestyle now. (Yes, I've packed away the infamous rabbit boots.) Maybe its because I hate hunters. Maybe its' because I realized that animals deserve, just as human beings do, to live a cruelty-free life.
But this...
This brought tears to my eyes.
" (Please repost!)
On August 26, 2007, a PETA investigator filmed the slaughter of deer at Musicon, Inc., a deer farm and venison sales company in Goshen, New York. Watch the video below and imagine the fear that these animals feel when being tortured and slaughtered. We need your help to stop this cruelty right away! You can actually see deer being pulled around by the ears, suffering as the door is slammed on their head, and slowly bleeding to death. Honestly, it's sickening.
Act now by sending a letter to the owner of Musicon Farm, where this video was taken, and demand that he immediately enact welfare changes! Better yet, tell him to shut down this operation all together!
And maybe its because this is going on 30 miles from where I grew up.
Just yesterday I was 3 young baby deer prancing around my pond. Those videos enraged me.
Send a letter to the owner- That treatment needs to stop.
To anyone who knew me two years ago, I had the attitude of "Fuck off" towards PETA. While I still don't agree with many of their somewhat extreme tactics- I do agree with many of their facts. I'm not a Peta recrute. I'm a believer in living a better life. Spare any negative emails/comments.
People change- so act your age and not your shoe size. <3
Yes yes yes, I know how many seasons ago this was. Doesn't change the fact that I'm still after it.
If anyone should see this in any boutique; You know who to call. haha <3
(Same goes for any pieces of the "Galliano Gazette" line, as well!)
Yeah, I know- Not a really informative post, haha. I just felt like Blogging about fashion. =]
Now, I know I always said I couldn't really stand Chanel bags. In all reality, I'm not a fan. But I'll make an exception for this one;
Dude, I can't find that thing ANYWHERE! I'm beginning to think it's not even slated for release in the US.
OH! And by the way;
That bag retails for more than $2000. People need to just put down their knockoffs' already. If you paid between $1000-$2000; you more than likely bought it at one of the few outlet stores Chanel operates. (Lucky for me, I'm only 30 minutes from one! lol) If you paid LESS THAN THAT OR BOUGHT IT ANYWHERE ELSE OTHER THAN A CHANEL BOUTIQUE, AUTHORIZED ONLINE RETAILER, OR A CHANEL OUTLET STORE, IT IS MORE THAN LIKELY A FAKE.
It's hysterical to see people walking around with these knockoffs they pick up at a flea-bag flea market and they're trying to pass them off as authentic. I wish they realized; no one buys it.
This always makes me happy; http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6030048/
Tiffany&Co. Jewelery is still fighting Ebay about how much fake T&Co jewelry they're selling. I think it was in '04 when they first filed the suit; they secretly bought 200 pieces of "Tiffany" jewelry off of Ebay and it was fake. Makes me sick.
It was like yesterday, when I was in my local mall; I saw this club-style clothing store, so I figured I'd check it out; I walked right out when I saw they were selling these Black enamel cuff bracelets for like $25 with the Chanel logo on them in cheap rhinestones.
As you know, I hate knockoffs' with a passion equal to nothing this earth has ever seen. I thought this was an interesting read;

Faking it How to spot a fake by Alice Temple
Just how do you tell a fake Louis Vuitton or Gucci bag from the real deal? Find out how to take home the genuine article every time with this indispensable guide to spotting the fakes.
Handbag wars With the advent of the Internet the crims are raking in the dirty dollars. Ebay is a breeding ground for fake designer merchandise and while there are websites selling the genuine article, there are just as many passing off counterfeit goods as the real thing. The problem is taken seriously by those at the top. Rumour has it that security staff at Louis Vuitton will even confiscate guests' handbags at their fashion shows if they are suspected fakes (oh the shame)! So, what are the signs to look out for?
The design Do your research. Every celeb worth their close-up carries a status bag - the pages of Heat, Vogue and Harper's Bazaar are full of them. Check sites like www.vogue.com or the designers' own sites (www.gucci.com, www.vuitton.com, www.dior.com) to see the styles and details of authentic merchandise clearly. Never seen a Murakami visor? That's because they don't exist outside of Canal Street.
The fabric When paying big bucks for a designer bag you're definitely paying for the name, but also the craftsmanship. The reason a real Hermès Kelly bag costs an arm and a leg is because they're hand made. You won't see shoddy workmanship on a legitimate bag - puckered leather and wonky stitching are sure signs of a fake. Only accept an article in pristine condition; if you're questioning the quality it's likely to be suspect.
Puckered leather and wonky stitching are sure signs of a fake
The details Don't overlook the smaller features. The zips, handles, buckles and other trimmings are often what lets down a fake. Hermès bags should have an 'Hermès Paris' stamp, while genuine Louis Vuitton leather goods say 'Louis Vuitton Paris, Made In France'. However, the fakers are cannier than ever and are wise to the fact that savvy shoppers seek the 'LV' stamp on zips and press studs. In this case, look even closer. Monograms should be clearly printed, not smudged - and stitches should be tiny and discreet, not clumsy and gaudy.
The nod of approval There are some websites authorised to sell designer labels. Amongst the three most popular are www.yoox.com, www.eluxury.com and www.net-a-porter.com - all legitimate designer etailers (eluxury.com is run by LVMH which owns Dior and Vuitton). Natalie Massenet from Net-a-porter.com that sells bags by Marc Jacobs, Chloé and Moschino advises, 'Consumers should look to shop on websites that are recommended by the brands themselves or by a trusted source such as high-end fashion magazines. www.jimmychoo.com for example links to Net-a-porter.com. If in doubt about the authenticity of the goods available online you should always review the Terms and Conditions of the website, which should explain the provenance of the goods.' It's also worth checking the returns policy. All sites are bound by law to offer a refund service. If it doesn't, alarm bells should ring.
The extras When buying from auction sites like www.ebay.com look for extras like branded dustbags, boxes (designers love packaging) and identity cards. But be alert. However much you follow these rules the fakers are always one step ahead. In many cases they can fake the packaging and ID cards as well as the handbags, so don't let your guard down. The bottom line is: if you have any doubts, don't buy.

BUYER BEWARE Spotting a knockoff is more difficult than you might think. Arm yourself with these key information points to avoid purchasing a fake.
Location, Location, Location First and foremost, purchasing luxury goods at a brand's boutique, Web site or authorized dealer is your best bet to insure buying a genuine product. Items at flea markets, home parties, from street vendors or unauthorized Web sites are likely to be fake.
The Price is Right Quality and exclusivity account for the high price of luxury goods. So, if the price seems to good to be true, it probably is.
Construction Sites Craftsmanship is a main point of distinction with luxury goods. Sloppy stitches in less visible areas – such as the underside of a product or inside pockets – is likely the result of counterfeit production.
Package Deal Luxury retailers meticulously package their products, including tissue paper, authenticity cards, product care information, and superior quality boxes and shopping bags. If you see a plastic wrap covering or a flimsy dust bag, it's probably a fake. For example, counterfeit manufacturers will often wrap the handles of handbags in plastic.
Spellcheck Counterfeiters will often misspell designer names. Check for letters that are swapped or a letter that is capitalized that shouldn't be, and vice versa.
Check the Hardware With most luxury accessories, you will find the logo on all the metal pieces, such as zippers, latches, snaps and buckles.
Read the Label In a genuine article of luxury clothing, most often the label is stitched in, whereas counterfeit clothes are likely to have a less expensive hangtag. Also check the country of origin on the label.
Timely Tips Makers of fake watches may not replicate unusual features, such as a helium relief valve. If the feature is available, often times it does not function.
Head over to Louis Vuitton.com and see this for yourself; (http://www.louisvuitton.com/info/fake/fake-00489.htm)
» Counterfeiting information » Louis Vuitton replica » Fake Louis Vuitton
Fake Louis Vuitton - Counterfeiting is a serious crime. The law punishes counterfeiters and those who purchase counterfeit goods (with fines and legal actions). Counterfeiting is often associated with money laundering and exploitation of child labor. Genuine Louis Vuitton products are only sold via the exclusive distribution network of Louis Vuitton stores and the internet on www.louisvuitton.com. Louis Vuitton has adopted a zero tolerance policy against counterfeiting. In 2004, the brands firm stance led to over 13,000 legal actions, more than 6,000 raids, over 947 arrests and the seizure of fake printing cylinders. Always leading the avant-garde of fashion without compromising traditional craftsmanship, Louis Vuitton is now active in other creative spheres: ready-to-wear,...
Good god I wish we could arrest people in the US for wearing fakes! It's got nothing to do with whether you're rich or poor, if you "have it" or you don't... It's about RESPECT.
Please, head over to www.fakesareneverinfashion.com and join the fight.
