I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! There were far too many people for me to thank everyone individually. So I am doing it here. I am sorry that I don't have time to keep up with everyone, but I definitely appreciate hearing from you all.
My birthday went pretty well. I got hassled from work for about 3 hours and had to work on fixing Myspace :( See the dedication I put in for all of you!! hehe
After that was all finished, Sanaz and I went to a Moroccan restaurant called Dar Maghreb with some of our friends. I hadn't been to this place in years, but the food is amazing. Morrocan food is like nothing else I've ever eaten. And I love exotic food. They tend to combine flavors that I've never seen combined in other cuisine. It's really good stuff. The atmosphere of the place is really great too. Small tables surrounded with plush couches to eat at. And a little belly dancing never hurts :) Sanaz even has some pix of me dancing with the belly dancer girl, but I assure you that I remained extremely death metal throughout! haha. Didn't smile once ;) I think we all had a really good time.
This coming weekend Sanaz and I are going to spend 4 days out in Palm Springs (Desert Hot Springs anyway) at a resort/spa. That's the big birthday plan. Didn't go this past weekend because the weather wasn't as good. I'm pretty excited. I could really use a break from work and life in general. So we are going take a few days to just soak up the sun, launch in natural mineral spring jacuzzis, and get massages and such. It will be an entirely new experience for me, never done anything like this before. But I will stay morbid as fuck through all of it! The place we are going is called Sagewater Spa. I think we will have a great time. Come back fresh and reinvigourated. It should be cool.
Well thanks again to everyone who said hello for my b-day :)
Tomorrow my little girl is turning 2 years old :) I am flying out to the Boston area for the weekend to be with her on her birthday. I am really excited. I don't get to see my daughter nearly as much as I would like to. It's very difficult because she lives with her mother on the opposite side of the country as I do. I try to see her as much as possible though. Even though we aren't together any more, her mother and I are friends, and we are on great terms. She is a good mother, and she does everything she can to help me see my daughter. She's a good friend, and I am very lucky for that. On top of the great distance, I work a lot of hours as some of you know. So I get very little time to actually fly out there. I haven't missed one of Minnie's birthdays yet. I feel that it is important. I can't be with her as much as I would like, but I want to make it a point to be around for meaningful occasions. Like I said I am really excited; I think I went overboard buying toys for her as a result hehe. I got her all sorts of books. They have these really kewl sparkly board books that I keep buying for her. They have thick cardboard pages so kids can't tear them, and these ones have really kewl sparkly pages to catch the children's eyes. I'm trying to get her to enjoy books. She's a really smart little girl. She already knows the entire alphabet and can count past 20 :) I also bought her this power wheels scooter/bike thing. I really think she will like it. It's like a little riding scooter, but it actually has a motor in it so she can drive it around! It's pretty slick. I think it's important to give her kewl fun toys as well as the educational ones. I want to steer her towards learning, but life is about balance. So I want her to be balanced as well. I bought her a bunch of other stuff too. But I sort of feel like I am rambling now. I just don't tend to get all that excited about much, but I am excited about this. So I enjoy "talking" about it. Anyway, Happy Birthday to my little girl and I can't wait to see her tomorrow!
