Available now as free downloads are the Depeche Mode tribute albums "MODEified by 7" and "MODEified by 7 Again". Powered by fans worldwide these tribute albums have offered more than one pearl per release since the series was started back in 1995. The MODEified series started as a compilation series of Depeche Mode songs that were covered by people on the Depeche Mode mailinglist BONG. The main force behind the project is Rob Augino. On the curent releases you will also find contributions by such more known artists as James D. Stark, The Echoing Green, Lakeside X, Blind Before Dawn or Terminal Bliss.

M7 is LIVE!!! Download it NOW!!!

Hello all!
FINALLY! M7 is online! Go to the new address at www.MODEified.com and download them today!!!
Convenient zip files of all tracks are available if you'd like to download each disc in one click!
We had a few hiccups getting the domain redirected to the new server, but all is well and running perfectly!!!
Please, do NOT use the commline.com address anymore. Currently it still loads the M7 page, but no live links. Brian is going to put a page up soon there to redirect people to the new simpler domain.
The artwork will be up there so you can print out your own inserts ASAP. Please check back for that. Lastly, Rafi has been working on a new forum for discussion of the new project! That's coming soon, he claims he's got some cool stuff up his sleeve.... wait to see on that one!
Lastly, I want to take this last chance to give a serious THANK YOU to Brian for all his support over the years of the BONG mailing list and of course giving a home to the MODEified Web Pages from inception to now!!! He was and continues to be a fellow founder of our community and the MODEified projects.

M7 ONLINE RELEASE TOMORROW!!!!!!

The day has finally arrived everyone!!!!
After so much hard work and patience from everyone here in the Depeche Mode community, our long labor of love is complete. All orders have been shipped and it is time to unveil the tunes and artwork to the rest of the world now!
Friday, August 8th will mark the release of MODEified by 7 & MODEified by 7 Again!!!
At some point in the day, the site www.MODEified.com will point to the new server. Click on the M7 page and the links for the songs will be LIVE! There will be links too added so that you can download each disc's songs in one shot for those who want them all in one download.
All links to any MODEified address from www.commline.com will no longer take you to the MODEified site. Please update your links to use www.MODEified.com . Thanks.
This is it folks! Once the album is released, please take time to listen to the discs and post your positive comments and constructive feedback! Feel free to send full REVIEWS to me here or at NCRobino@aol.com and I will post them to the blog and on BONG.
The final version of the M7 site will come once I've returned from Australia (leaving on the 13th and won't be back till September 1st!). The final version will look like the other edition's sites, which will include bio's, graphics and links for all the bands, liner notes...etc. That update will bring the project to an official close.
Please spread the word that the project is releasing tomorrow everyone!

M7 SHIPS! All Single Orders are Out The Door!!

Hey guys!
Despite a weekend full of busy plans, when the covers arrived Friday I was compelled to fold fold fold them and get some of the M7 orders out! I spent Friday night into the weee hours packing up all single disc orders! That means, if you ordered only 1 disc... your order shipped on Saturday morning July 26th!
It's TRUE!!!
This was the best way to get MODEified by 7 to as many people as fast as possible. Multiple copy orders require a padded envelope and more complex packing than the single orders. I plan to tackle these orders packaging and insert folding tonight! I am going to the Cubs game today here in Chicago, so we'll see how I fare once I get home. I'll of course post as soon as the final orders are shipped! Hang in there guys!
Once you get your M7 copy, please post comments to this site, message me here or email me FULL reviews for posting to NCRobino@aol.com and most importantly, let everyone know what you think and give the artists the praise they deserve! Spread the word around, this is one of the best DM Tribute's ever put together!

M7 - Printing Error Delays Shipping

Hey guys,
I wanted to drop a quick note and let you know... I got the covers last week all fine and dandy.. only to open them up and see... near perfection. The foldout portion of the sleeves were printed upside down on the inside. There was an original batch of correctly printed ones that were lost in the mail, this was the second batch.
The original shipment arrived back to the printshop, so I sent a prepaid FedEx slip to have those shipped again via FedEx instead of the USPS this time and get them this week.
If all goes well, I hope too get these and ship on next Monday.
Here's hoping! Sorry for the delay, but even though its cool to have variants.... when they all are variants, it just means they were done wrong!

MODEified by 7 HUGE UPDATE!!! Website MOVES!

Hey guys!
Well, the good news is that I had extra time this week to get the discs done. The bad news is that the time off work came because I was bedridden sick with strep throat. It's true, I don't know why in some people strep causes a sore throat and for me, it's as bad as the flu.
Needless to say, I haven't left the house since Sunday. I was however able to get all of the discs burnt for shipping! Corrugated shipping sleeves arrived last week! Jewel cases arrived two weeks ago! We are all set! I am even going to start addressing the boxes today for shipping so that when I get to the PO Box for the inserts next all I have to do is throw the inserts in the cases and ship away!
I've officially put all of M7 on my iPod and I can honestly say, it rocks in the car, it rocks on my headphones and it kicks on my home stereo fo' sho'! I am SOOOO EXCITED to FINALLY be so close to shipping these bad boys and getting some feedback from everyone on the look and sound of what I believe to be one of the best DM Tribute albums EVER MADE!
Given the July 4th holiday here in the States this weekend, I hope to have these all shipped immediately after.
My co-producer, Rafi Kharman, has been working hard on the website side of things too! Together we've come up with a new permanent home for the MODEified projects. It's no secret that the MODEified projects have become very popular and well known over the years. This popularity has caused a significant drain on the commline.com server that houses the BONG Mailing List and the MODEified pages. This drain has come in the form of space, traffic and most importantly .. charges for through the roof downloads of the previous 6 editions of MODEified lately. It was no longer fair for us to burden Brian, the commline owner, with the bandwith and financial needs of MODEified.
Therefore, Rafi and I have invested our time and money into creating www.MODEified.com , the new official home for MODEified. The transition in theory will mostly go unnoticed by the user. Same pages, same ease of downloads, etc. Just a different, simpler and more logical url address. Of course, the old address will point you to the pages on the new server too, just in case some people don't get the news.
The official move will not happen until the official online release of M7. This is quite deliberate and we've worked feverishly to ensure the new release is done on the new server so that it can handle the traffic with ease and everyone can get their M7 fix easy and free as it has always intended to be!!! Many thanks to Rafi for all his help!
Cheers to everyone! Many of you are already asking about an M8!!! It's crazy! Some other guy contacted me for advice about starting a punk version of a fan DM Tribute! The interest for DM fan based tributes seems to be at an all time high, and WE are the pioneers folks! Something to be proud of! That said, please.... hold the M8 talk till I get this one out :-)! It will come in due time:-)
When the first lucky few of you get your discs, you OWE us all some reviews! Discs will arrive in mailboxes BEFORE the online release as it is tradition. Post comments, post reviews to bong and send them directly to me at NCRobino@aol.com so that I can post them. The artists really and truly put a shitload of work into their songs and they deserve to get some praise and feedback on their masterpieces!
I know this was a long one, but we've got a lot going on in the world of MODEified lately and little time to share it all! I will update again come M7's ship date!

Insert Mystery Solved! Copying Half Done! Update Address!
Hey guys!
GREAT NEWS! Well, good news. The original covers that were printed were disposed of. It's true. After the shipping debacle, they were returned to the print shop and thrown away on accident. While tragic in itself, a new batch at no cost to us has already been printed and shipped. It should arrive, god willing, today or tomorrow. The auto folder had broken at the shop and to avoid further delay, Micah went ahead and shipped them unfolded. So, I will be manually folding all of these bad boys.
In other good news, I am at the end of the copying process of Disc 1!!! I can soon begin making the copies of Disc 2 and simultaneously start packaging them for shipment assuming arrival of the inserts sticks. I have most of today to continue copying... but them I fly through Friday and with a weekend full of activity and house guests, it's looking like I'll continue the process next week and hopefully ship by the end of the week.
Once discs have shipped, I'll work with Rafi to get the songs posted onto the site! Don't forget, www.MODEified.com is the new URL!!! While the commline address still currently works, it will redirect you to the new URL soon.
Lastly, if you ordered M7 (you still can too!) in the last year and have moved since your order was placed, now is your chance to update your shipping address with me for M7. Please email me at NCRobino@aol.com and let me know of any address updates. We don't want to waste any time or money shipping to old addresses.

Copying Begins! Covers Not Arrived. Shipping Soon!

Hello everyone!
Great news! The Master ARRIVED!!!! The double disc sets are copying as we speak. I have several computers making copies from the master disc that arrived just a few days ago! I am so glad this has arrived as I wanted to get started ..ing right away as this takes a bit of time depending on when I am home to sit here and copy disc upon disc.
I've got about 160 discs to copy total, so my work is cut out for me... but it is definitely doable if I can just get an average of 10 discs a day done, then of course the tedious process of packaging must be done too, I should be shipping in 2-3 weeks!!!!
Of course, this is all dependent upon the arrival of the covers. The professionally printed cover inserts were done weeks ago, shipped once and returned to the shipper and then shipped again. They still have not yet arrived. I check my box daily in hopes of their arrival. God willing, they'll be here in a matter of days. Micah who handled the printing and shipping is looking into things on his end. I will report back as soon as they arrive.
Lastly, this means the final step in the M7 process is almost here! The songs to be posted! Reviews and praise for our artists to be shared! It's truly the best part of it all, to sit back and enjoy the rewards of EVERYONE'S hard work!!!! So, be ready to listen and give a breakdown of your thoughts on the project soon! Until then, hang in there everyone! The end is near!

Insert Covers Found!

Well, after some drama and Micah risking his job for the project (that's dedication people!!!), all is well with the world!
Micah, our cover printer and longtime MODEified contributor, is re-shipping the covers to us now after locating the once lost collection of inserts.
The master disc shipped yesterday! Everything should be to me this week and I will begin the copying process immediately!!!
The end is near! The songs are almost up!
One final note, www.MODEified.com has now been registered and if you can't remember the site www.commline.com/MODEified , you can always just go to the simple www.MODEified.com and be directed to the site that way.
