Ethics..?

    I had a very interesting conversation with a friend of mine of ethics. He was a ardent follower of Cyrenaic hedonism, all desire and present pleasures should be the primary focus, before they are lost forever. A form of Carpe Diem, Sieze the day style of life.
 
      I countered with my thoughts more geared toward Epicurus, who considred cyrenaic hedonism extreme, that indiscriminate and partial, detrimental indulgence can result in negtive consequences.

 For example, excessive indulgence in anything, food, money, sex, can dull pleasure and can lead to ruin and pain. Having a balance is the way I live my lifestyle, but in this "information age", with everything fast paced, maybe the present desires must be indeed indulged, yet with caution.  


  But also, as things are expected to become faster, more improved and stable, we are invariably locked in definitions and patterns and these locks are just as detrimential, as humans are creatures of habit, locking and limiting ourselves in a "prison" of locks and such.

 With these ancient minds still influencing us, what would be the intuitive process making one wonder? Ethics encompasses "correct" conduct and a good life, but should correct moral conduct while limitng pleasure be a goal, or a life worth living or life that is satisfying as possible?

I'm pondering my thoughts. This world is a strange one non?

You only have a few times in your life to see a crossroad. What is "wrong" per say? You can't really make a wrong choice in this world. No one is truly good or bad, nor can anyone ever draw the line between good and bad, right or wrong just and unjust. You can't truly make a wrong choice. That's a true gift in this world, to make your own choice and live by your own ideals.
