You know, I once thought that perhaps as i get older, the short jokes would fade
and I might have "more standing" in life. 

This illusion was shattered at the weekend when I went to stay with my good friends Jay (Switz Toni) and Anne-Marie.

Here's how it went.  Staying at their house in Wales, there was a knock at the door.
Presently it was obvious that no-one else was about to answer it, so I went over to open the door.

Now at this point I'll point out that although I may be diminutive in stature, I am 31 years old.

On opening the door, I found a kindly looking old lady, who took one look at me and said............
"Oh Hello, IS YOUR MUM IN?"   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For fuck's sake.

Clark mobile

Yesterday I picked up the 3rd generation clark mobile and my, it's looking lovely.    I picked up some old, unlabelled tapes while i was round my Dad's showing it off.

Imagine my delight this morning as I inserted one of the tapes and found myself treated to the dulcet tones of Tony Wright, whispering "Alice, what's the matter...Alice, what's the matter..."  followed by the rest of the legendary album "How to make friends and influence people"...
