Wow!  It's only 9am, and I already have more birthday wishes here than I can ever hope to respond to!  lol  So let me go ahead and say 'Thanks!' right here to all of you wonderful well-wishing friends out there, for having me in your thoughts on this day.  :)

I don't know how happy I should be that I'm moving into my mid-thirties!  lol  But these days one can be happy to have simply made it another year.  Now I wonder what will happen THIS year??

For those of you keeping score, the Angelical Language project chugs onward.  I'm working on the final revisions now, and have until this November to submit the final result.  :)  From there it's on to production!

Thanks again to everyone!  I'll try to stop by a bit more often....  lol

Happy New Year and New Stuff!

Greetings, faithful bloggers!

I know it's been a long time - due to various circumstances, I took a vacation from writing for most of the past year.  Never fear! - work was still being done.  I had some essays in progress that had to be tweaked and published, permissions for the new book (The Angelical Language) were sent out, etc.  (I even had a public appearance that I failed to mention here!)  You just didn't see me here on the blogs, and I didn't start any brand new projects.  ;)

The good news is that I DO have some new stuff to share with you here in the new year.  :)  Remember those Dee essays I promised so long ago? - I've got two of them ready for you!  Plus I have another Solomonic essay that I don't believe I've posted here yet.  I've even got a new essay on the Qabalah!  So, without further delay!:

The two essays about Dee have been published by an incredible magazine called "Hermetic Virtues Magazine" (http://www.hermeticvirtues.org/)  This high-end publication sports contributions from folks like Chic Cicero, Nick Farrell and yours truly!  ;)  I highly recommend you go check out their site and subscribe to the magazine!  :):):)

-Pronouncing Dee's Angelical
(Based upon my study of Dee's records, I have created this essay explaining how to pronounce the Angelical words. I explain the methods Dee used to record his own phonetic notations, and then I provide an entirely new phonetic key intended for modern students. All of the rules for Angelical pronunciation are explained, and the essay ends with excerpts from An Angelical Psalter- showing the first two Angelical Callings/Keys written in English, Angelical and my new phonetic key.)

-The Angelical Alphabet
(Updated Version! Originally written for Tree of Lights Magazine, but the magazine never came to be. It was then published online in Paradigm Shift Magazine, but the online version suffered formatting errors. Now, the essay has been completely updated, corrected and vastly expanded. It explains the importance of the Angelical Language and how to use the Angelical Characters with Agrippa's occult philosophy.)

My Solomonic essay, in case you haven't seen it yet, was published by both Hermetic Virtues Magazine and an awesome Pagan publication called "PaganPages.org" (http://paganpages.org/).  Highly recommended!  You can read my essay here:

-Grimoire Shamanism
(A major premise of my Secrets of the Magickal Grimoires is that the Solomonic texts draw much from tribal shamanic practices and worldview. This essay focuses upon that premise, and provides a great introduction to the book. It also includes two anecdotes about modern Solomonic shamans at work.)

And, finally, my latest contribution to the Western Hermetic Qabalah was published by another incredible scholarly magazine called the "Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition" (www.jwmt.org)  Check them out!  You can read my essay here:

-The Decad of Creation: Sacred Geometry upon the Tree of Life
This essay is an example of Ma'aseh Berishith - a meditation upon the Work of Creation outlined in the Book of Genesis. Drawing from Pythagorean philosophy and the Sepher Yetzirah, I discuss the Sacred Geometry of the Tree of Life and its relationship to the ten instances of "God said..." in the first chapter of Genesis.

That should get our new year started off great!  :)  I'm still waiting on those permissions for the book, so I'll keep you updated!   :):)

The Angelical Language of Dr. John Dee!!

Greetings, Readers!

Great news!  I've just heard from Llewellyn, and we've got a green-light for my latest project:

The Angelical Language Vols. I and II: The History, Mythology and an Encyclopedic Lexicon of the Tongue of Angels

This is all about the so-called "Enochian" Language recorded by Dr. John Dee and Sir Edward Kelley.  It also includes chapters on the Qabalistic 50 Gates of Binah, the various Books of Enoch, the Book of Soyga and Dee's own Holy Book of Loagaeth.  The main focus, however, is upon the Angelical Language itself- including what we find in Loagaeth, the 48 Callings and throughout Dee's journals.  The Lexicon alone is several times the size of Laycock's Enochian Dictionary- without including words from later sources like Crowley or the Golden Dawn!  :)

I've also added two addendums:  One explains how to use the Angelical Alphabet in Agrippa-style Angelic and Talismanic work.  The other focuses upon the English poetry of the 48 Callings.  I will likely release both of these as stand-alone essays.

On that same note, I will be working on the release of several Dee- and Enochian-oriented essays over the next weeks and months.  I promised these earlier this year, and I was simply waiting on positive word from Llewellyn.  :)

I have also created a 14-lesson Course in the Tongue of Angels which will teach you everything from the basic principles of the language all the way to translating English text into Angelical.  (or vice-versa)  The course already exists - but its status is unknown.  Llewellyn expressed an interest in it, so I'll have to wait and see if they want to use it before I release it on my own.  ;)

Like my Solomonic Group and Secrets..., this new Group is intended as a companion for The Angelical Language....  I've got all sorts of great links, files and photos there, and some of the top minds in the study of Angelical Linguistics are already members.  It's the perfect place to come and learn more, ask questions, meet like-minded seekers, etc.

As for the book - I've got to get the images together, and we will likely be creating a new Angelical Font (to avoid copyright issues).  Then the finished project goes to Llewellyn, and you'll see it on the shelves within a year or two.  :):):)
