Abigail’s Ghost to play Prog Day 2008

Abigail's Ghost will be gracing the stage at the 14th annual Progday August 30th @ about 3:15 PM. Progday 2008 is to be held August 30th and 31st at Storybook Farm near Chapel Hill, NC and will feature 9 different bands over the two-day festival. Update on the progress of new AG album

Yesterday, I finished recording all of my bass tracks for the forthcoming Abigail's Ghost album. Today we'll be tracking some rhythm guitars and possibly some of the solos. We should be wrapped up with the recording sometime next month and hopefully have it mixed by November.

New Studio Album Update

John has just finished recording the basic drum tracks for the forthcoming Abigail's Ghost studio album. In the past 3 days we managed to finish 11 songs worth of drums which may or may not all appear on the new album. The remainder of the new material will be recorded within the next few months and we'll hopefully have some sound clips on the AG page by late this year or early next year. Keep an eye out.

ABIGAIL’S GHOST ANNOUNCED FOR ROSFEST 2009!

RoSfest is pleased to announce Louisiana-based group Abigail's Ghost as our second band on Saturday morning. Founded by Joshua Theriot (vocals, guitar) and Kenneth Wilson (bass, backing vocals), who had been classmates in high school, and continued through college at Berkelee College of Music in Boston, they recruited Brett Guillory (keyboards), John Patrick (drums) and Randy LeBoeuf (guitars) to round-out the lineup. Abigail's Ghost released their debut album "Selling Insincerity" in March, 2007, and has received rave reviews for their modern blend of melodic rock and prog. Though the band hails from the Houma/New Orleans area and a few of the members have musical backgrounds in Cajun French and New Orleans style jamming, their sound has most often been compared to the grunge bands of the 90's and so-called "Krautrock" of the European music scene circa the 1980's. The band is working on a follow up album to be released in spring, 2009, just in time for RoSfest! Abigail’s Ghost Update: New Studio Album

As of late, the members of Abigail's Ghost have been feverishly writing music for their next studio album, due for an early 2009 release. While track numbers and titles are mostly tentative at this point, we do know that the writing this time around will be more focused on dark themes and presentations, much as it was toward the end of the SI cycle. As details become available about the new record, they will be posted in the News section of AG.com.
