Creative advice...

The best creative advice I've ever recieved was not listening to what a stranger or friend thinks I should or shouldn't do...but to what my bloody gut says! If someone feels the need to give a creative critique, I've already affected and accomplished the reaction I need to stir a provocative thought. Creative advice is always subjective. If you are a hater or lover, I'm a success.

Love, does it exist?

So, you say you are in love. Do you really think you are? Do you think it is a built up phenomenon or is it a scientific fact? What do you think? I got in a discussion with someone that considered themselves "spiritual" although, they don't believe that love exists. I feel that in order to be "spiritual", love is a big part of it. I'm not talking about a hallmark holiday card or a "roses and diamonds" kind of love. I'm talking about the real thing. Love: unconditional, occassionally unriquited, nurturing, heart pumping, temperature rising, desire, passionate...you know what I'm getting at. I believe that without love, nothing would survive. Ok, maybe the sun and moon might, or the other glorious planets floating through space...even our galaxy. But would Earth? Would we survive without love? I can't see the possibilites in that.  I can't see the survival ratio without it.

Love comes in many forms. For example, if you don't nurture a plant, it will die. If you don't nurture a child, he/she will die. If you don't desire someone, where does sex come in? Sure, maybe it was a drunken stupor. Honestly, what becomes of the child? Sure, life comes after death, but if you don't give life some tender care, death will end it all and fail to give life.

I can't help but look at animals. Yes, some species kill their mates. Some stay for the duration of their lives. Regardless, what creature just accepts that another creature of their kind is there? What creature procreates to survive, just because another of there kind is available. Most or even maybe all creatures, have to have a little of love in order to procreate. Yes, I know, animals don't use the word "love" but they do act and react similiar to humans. Yes, we might have a word for it, but so does any other emotion we have. Why do we call anger "anger". Does that truly exist? Why is it we create if "love" doesn't exist? Just watch "March of the Penguins". The love might not be forever, but it's there and they fight for their partner.

If you googled horoscope readings what are the most common questions? The things that human nature needs most: Love, Money, Career, Health. All of these are a means to a full and prosperous life. You can say that these are all in existance because they are man made things, but every human desires these things. We need these things. Take out money and your career and I guarantee that love and health, regardless of your current situation, are two things that have always been at the root of your existence and have always somehow in some way meant more then money or a career. If not, then I guarantee it has at some point, if not sometime in the future. If love didn't exist, why do we spend our lives looking for it?

You may say that you are happy in your life. Is there any love in why you are happy?

Love is a word. Love is also an emotion, that we as people chose one word to describe it. It may be a man made word. I can't fathom it being a man made universal emotion, and I can't imagine it not existing. I can't imagine a spirituality without it, nor can I imagine this Earth surviving with no such thing.

Give me your thoughts?

Rain, rain...stay another day...

There must be somebody out there who is actually listening to my wishes. Of course, not all of them have been granted yet, but I do appreciate the little ones that are. That's right folks, this is my lucky day! The 70's porn "sepia" colored skies of Los Angeles are a glorious shade of gray! For all of my friends that live in the Northwest or in cloudy Europe, this might not be good news for you...but for me, it means that I am for once in an excellent mood. Ok, I guess I'm usually in a decent mood but rainy days inspire me. It's days like these that make me wish there was more than 24 hours in a day. It's days like these that make me want to skip work and do creative things. It makes me feel romantic. (Stop it, you frackin' saps) I don't mean wining and dining by candle light with a loved one. I mean true romance...the kind you have for yourself. Such as wining and dining alone. Eating comfort foods that I make for myself, running outside in the rain, reading, sewing, painting, looking through old pictures...loving myself. (Geez, ya perverts!) You can love yourself without touching yourself, and still feel orgasmic! Ok, maybe I'm the pervert for assuming you would think that. Regardless, dark and rainy days are a turn on!

The joke...

What  would happen if I decided not to get excited about anything? What would happen if I shut off all emotions and it's attachments, would I feel happier? What would happen if I lied like everyone else does? Would I be happier? I would like to believe that most people's answers would be, "No." I would love to believe that that is the case...but honestly, Mr. Honesty, you are a liar.

there are no boundaries...

between heaven and hell, nor the male or female gender. it's whether or not you have the strength to pass through those boundaries and admire, discover, and appreciate what they have to offer.

how the earth stands still

today feels like a silent fog. not one single sound has creeped out of a single natural element. words spoken are not greeted with a warm return. all i hear is the sound of the fan, mechanically spinning. metal whisping warm air against my skin as it raises the little folicals of blond hair on my arms so my body will cool down. some would call this pleasant, others terrifying. silence.

Did you see it?

All the changes, the transformations happening right before your eyes? Not all of it is positive. It may be for some, but not everyone. Did you see it? Politics, people, the environment (natural and immediate)? If you haven't, you need to step out of that bubble of yours before the bubble becomes a cage.

The time I stopped breathing

Red intoxication.  My mind lost it's thought just by the simple reflection in a mirror.  My body crumbled.
