Dragon*Con 2008
Current mood: crappy

Over all I had a some what good time. I don't want to be negative, but a lot of unpleasant things happen to me this weekend. Of course, I still tried to make the best of things and had an alright time. Next year I won't plan as much and have a room with less people. It was so hard to do everything I wanted to and I didn't get to see and hang out with my friends nearly as much as I wanted.

On Thursday night (which actually ended up being Friday morning at 1:00 a.m.ish) my friends and I headed out to Atlanta. It was fun on the way up because we were so excited; however it was also frustrating because I was in the middle in the back seat of the car between two broad shouldered guys. I tried to sleep in the car, but it turned out to be almost impossible for me. At about 9 we ended up in Atlanta after two stops along the way.

Despite the lack of (if any at all) sleep, I tried to use the gym because I'm so friggin' OCD. After about 30 minutes I decided that I should just get ready for the day and change into costume. I wore Seong Mi-na. I kind of didn't want to wear it because the staff I made got split in the trunk of the car I rode up in (due to the hinges). I wasn't angry at the guy who packed the car (if I was to be upset with anyone it would have been myself for being so careless). I ended up being really glad that I wore it because I found BelleChere in her Ivy costume (which is MEGA AWESOME!). For those of you who don't know BelleChere, she's pure liquid gold. I also got to meet a bunch of other awesome people that day (like Shane and I got to see Alisa for more than 2 minutes xD).

Anyways, I'm getting tired so I'll just list of some things that stick out in my mind until I can finish this blog tomorrow

I wish that I didn't wear Molotov because I forgot my black tape and used the green that I brought for Poison Ivy (for "protection" haha). I thought that it would be fine because I didn't notice it. Well, after seeing some pictures with flash I really am upset with myself for not testing for errors in the costume -_-;.

I'm disappointed that I didn't get to see Adam Hughes (yes, I know that he wasn't going to be a convention guest artist. I just thought that he was going..?)

I did the masquerade with Joshua, Sarah (a friend of his), and Alisa. We won Best in Show (of course, most credit is due to Joshua). I'll post pictures from it and describe it later.

I had fun in the Dawn contest. BelleChere blew me away with her outfit. It was beautiful and amazing. The contest was also hilarious for me; Voltaire ended up carrying me across stage the second time around ( I was in a Dawn Water Nymph mermaid costume).

At one point on Friday (I was still in Seong Mi-na) I was walking back to my hotel room with some friends and this big buff black police man got my attention and stopped me. My heart jumped because I thought I was going to be busted for wearing the outfit, LMFAO. I was also confused because there were other people that had less on. Well, it turns out that he actually knew who I was dressed up as, asked for my picture, and told me how he would be at the convention if he didn't have to work. ROFL

My back hurts from sleeping on an uncomfortable air mattress and I'm sick from a combination from lack of sleep and going to bed with my hair wet last night and my hotel room mates having the air so low :(. I wish I brought a blanket and not a sheet. uuggh

With that being said, I'm not going to check for typos and errors until tomorrow. I need rest. ^_^;

My Dragon*Con Plans. It’s THIS weekend :D

Gosh, I'm so excited! I can't wait to see everyone :3.

These are my cosplay plans for Dragon*Con this weekend. So if anyone wants to meet up for a group or is just curious as to what I'll be wearing to spot me and say
"hello" (we can exchange cell phone numbers or something for those of you who want to meet up for group photos. Just message me).

Friday: Seong Mi-na all day with two wonderful ladies, Alisa and Bellechere, until the evening when I'll be wearing a Femm Cobra Trooper costume for Jamin's GI Joe group.

Saturday: Molotov Cocktease (I think... I mean... I'm not sure if I can walk around in public wearing it, rofl. I feel weird) and then my Dawn outfit for the contest :)

Sunday: Poison Ivy

I'm still not sure if I'll be wearing a costume on Monday.

Also, I'll be lending some parts of my Zatanna costume to Just, Kitty. If she doesn't wear it, I might bring it anyways because some friends wanted group photos. I just have no idea what day that was suppose to be lol.

Costume updates and info... Hey Dragon*Con is less than a month away!

Realizing just how close Dragon*Con really is, I decided to blog about my excitement for my planned costumes...

These are the costumes that I WILL have! Unless one abruptly bursts into fames or something. Idk

Yes, I really did make Molotov Cocktease. I'll have awesome pictures (going to shoot with John Sluder Photography) in that costume up some time before Dragon*Con. Strangely, I've had a few people ask if I'm going "all out" with that costume. Asking what that meant, I discovered early on that it means the infamous Molotov Cocktease from The Venture Brothers (GO TEAM VENTURE!) slight butt cleavage. Me, being the perfectionist I am (I don't mean that to come off...*ahem*, cocky in any way. LMFAO SORRY I had to go there), of course did make it as accurate as possible. So yes, I'll have that hilarious part of the costume down. No, I don't think it makes me a bad person :P. ROFL I figure that I might as well brace the moment for all of you, rather than have utter shock. I might as well inform, you know?

Poison Ivy. She was my favorite Batman villain as a child. Once I thought that I wouldn't be able to afford to make Seong Mi-na, I wanted to make a costume that wouldn't cost as much that I would also like to do. After finding green spandex at a GREAT price, I went for it. I'll have this costume finished in a few days. I'll just take some pictures in my back yard or something, haha.


Thanks to a marvelous friend (back from when I worked at "A Comic Shop"),Jon, I'll be able to make Seong Mi-na in time for Dragon*Con. ^_^ I'm really excited about that costume. I've been wanting to make it since Soul Caliber III came out (just like as Alisa said about her Sophitia from Soul Calibur III, I'm in love with her outfit.). Not only am I excited to be able to make it, I'm also VERY excited to get pictures with Alisa and Bellechere in their Soul Caliber costumes. I still am not sure if I'll be able to make her staff, but at least I'll have the costume.... eeeei ^_^

Dawn. I'm making an outfit based off my FAVORITE Linsner artwork of Dawn. Oooh I can't wait until the day I wear it!. Yes, I'll be in the contest this year.

And yes, I'll being Zatanna for those of you who asked :).

A.7) HILTER! OMG I'd get it video-taped and everything. I'd be number one on YouTube, ROFL. I think that explains it all.

A.8) I'm going to be random as heck on this one. Maleficent was the first character to come to mind. She's a really evil and powerful Disney villain for sure. So Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty vs. Shan Yu from Mulan vs. Megatron from Transformers vs. Mewtwo from Pokemon vs. Brock Samson from the Venture Brothers vs. Boba Fett from Star Wars.
It would result in Maleficent vs. Megatron, but Brock and Boba Fett would pair up because they realized it's a silly battle. They win.

Back in Orlando and the Other Part to the Update

Yup. That's right. I didn't like Bartow much >:|.

I'm more content in Orlando for the time being. So to all you Orlando people, we should hang out! Just send me a message :).

On another note...
My last blog post I wrote about opening up an E-Bay store. Well, what I meant to say is that I got my own account. I won't be opening up an actual store until I make some profit. There's a bunch of legal business for that. I don't want to get into it just yet. However, I will be posting up items for sell in the next few days ^_^. I'm really excited about it. I've made all sorts of things to sell. For example, one of the items is a cute zombie bag of my own design :D.

I hope this works out. I really think that it should. I've been down because money has been very tight for me and I've been moving back and forth x_x. I've wanted to badly get a new pair of shoes and make costumes. I haven't been able to settle down anywhere. Talk about annoying...with a capital "a". Annoying!

Some good news from the past few months:
I DID make straight As the Spring Semester. That was nice. And I have been sewing a lot. Although it wasn't any of the costumes I wanted to make, it was fun. Going though my pin of limited fabrics actually brought on quite the surprises ^_^ (just look under the albums where I made clothes. I didn't post everything, but it's an idea of what I'm talking about).

My Dream Character is a Monkey

Soooo, I feel asleep last night (well, this morning technically) watching the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters movie (I’m on Spring Break)...and I forced myself awake because Adam and Jake from My Gym Partner is a Monkey were in my dream. I don’t typically remember my dreams, so I was confused. I felt weird. SURE enough I left the T.V. on and guess what was on. Yeah, My Gym Partner is a Monkey. I forced myself awake at 8:00 a.m. (I went to bed sometime around 4? I dunno... it was the part were Carl gets on the machine because Fry Lock is like, " it’s his machine anyways" to Master Shake) to get them OUT of my dream. Not that I dislike the show, I just don’t want Adam and ESPICALLY Jake in my dreams XDD.

::shrug:: I thought that it would be fun to share.

10 Random Facts About Me

Alisa did this a few days ago. Here’s mine :).


1) I wanted to be an astronaut since I can remember.

2) I know a lot about Nebulae. Space = <3

3) Uuugh, I’m allergic to flee bites :/. It’s a very annoying allergy to have. In fact, I think that I’m allergic to bee, hornet, and wasp bites as well. It’s just been a loooooooong time since I’ve been stung by any of those insects.

4) I flew an airplane (well airplanes, because it wasn’t always the same one :P) before I ever drove a car.

5) I believe in aliens (haha yeah, little "grey" men).

6) I started playing video games when I was three years old. Ahh, it was Super Mario Brothers on the NES =)

7) My first book that I read and owned was Green Eggs and Ham. My Grandmother bought it for me and would read it to me and taught me how to read, along with my mother. I was four years old.

8) I was home-schooled until the 6th grade.

9) I love singing!

10) I’ve had all sorts of pets growing up. My favorite pets were probably my four pet turtles and Dalmatians. Speaking of the Dalmatians, the family’s doggies, Dotty and Jimmy (that dog was a mean butt. He got sold away, lol), had 8 pure-breed puppies which the family named after the planets in the solar system (sadly, one puppy died at birth, and another few hours after birth). We kept Jupiter :D! I loooove him!
