Dear Milwaukee...
Current mood: awake
Category: Blogging

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNIN!

My oh my how long it has been. For those of you from Milwaukee, please bear with me and get through the blog for Snapdragon Fest news. So many things to talk about. so much drama. so much space on the internet. so... lets cut the chase...er i mean cut TO the chase, (muahaha)

It's been almost 2 months since we last left off and finished up our tour with the guys in A Coastline Ending. And while our blog had come to almost a complete stop, our train keeps on rollin.

In this time we've had some ups, some downs, and some good ole fashion bullshit.

But we're still here.

Warped Tour was an awesome experience. While the downpour and halestorm (no i'm not kidding) slowed us down for a bit, it was still amazing sharing the stage with some incredible bands. We also got to meet some great local talent from our state. Check out The Scenic from Philly. Cool dudes with sweet tunes. Thank you to Adam and Nicole Steinbacher for coming out and helping us with merch.

AMP Music Fest in Rock Falls was also a very good time. We shared the stage this round with Project 86 and Emery. Thank you to everyone who made this happen especially the promoters, the sweet family at the bed and breakfast, corey and kristan. Oh but beware when you are in the area. Apparently a man was walking around with a machete. And Jordan fit his description. Minus the fact that jordan doesn't carry silly blades that are 2 feet long. Only broadswords for this band, thank you very much.

A new tour is in the works and I can give you all the juicy details. For those faint of heart should read no further if you don't want anything ruined...

SPOILER ALERT!!!

1. It involves driving.

2. A Farewell Rescue will play lots of dates

3. Probably more driving.

In all seriousness keep an eye on our dates for this fall and the next coming months as some serious stuff is currently in the works.

Next on our list is the CD Release. If you haven't preordered it already, get on it! Especially if you are in the Northumberland County Area. Get your be-hind to the FYE in the Susquehanna Valley Mall and preorder ASAP.  Everyone else do the same and even hit up Amazon.

For those of you in the area also check out our interview in this month's issue of Shinbone Magazine. A Farewell Rescue is September's Artist of the month. Soon to be posted on Shinbone.net.

Slated tentatively for September 18th is going to be a bonus release. A new digital-download-only EP from A Farewell Rescue will coincide with our re-release so stay tuned for some new tracks coming soon.

Speaking of tasty jams, we've got plenty of new ones and are nothing but excited to get them to you. We will be heading into the studio to work on a brand new full length some time in the Winter/Early Spring. We'll keep you updated.

Now some news for all of you Milwaukee goers. Snapdragon Fest 08 will be the first A Farewell Rescue acoustic performance ever. Expect to hear some songs that we never play and maybe a few new ones that you may never hear again. Be apart of history as it will be taped and used for a DVD coming soon. There are only 3 rules.

1. Get as close to the stage as possible.

2. Sing as loud as you can.

3. Bring everyone you know.

September 20th. Mark it on your calendar. It is something you CAN NOT MISS.

And now for something completely different...

Here's a quick rundown of our current going-ons.

John - at this exact time of 11:25AM he is in the hospital hopefully delivering the newborn son. To be deemed as Number 11 for the Professional Soccer team "Peifer's Pelés"

Jordan - Playing Madden 09 and sleeping with one eye open while he watches over our van in the midnight hours

Joey - Juggling Jobs, dropping transmissions, and playing CSI: Northumberland with his camera and the van

Josh - When he's not driving Joey around, picking him up off a ditch in the side of a back road, or helping him investigate crime scenes; he's hustlin away at FYE working on an in-store performance. KEEP THE PREORDERS COMING!

Rambo - Workin his ass off at daddy's waiting for our next tour. In his downtime he gets haircuts and beard trims...boooo.

Whew, glad we got all of that out. Sorry there was so much information, I promise next time will be less informative and more hysteric antics.

Keep eatin that new AFR pizza.

Love A Farewell Rescue

Current mood: hungry
Category: Blogging

Wasaaaaaap.

Blogging to you straight from Melbourne, Florida.

Last we left off we were in Milwaukee weeping over the weather and idea of playing on a stage smaller than our van. Little did we know round 2 of Milwaukee and Summerfest would be better than the first and the first...or something like that.

So we pulled up in the pouring rain and unloaded everything into a combo tent with a keg in the back. Terrific.

As the day progressed we saw some old friends and harassed the shit out of any and everyone that passed by. While getting crazy drunk all day. Well some of us at least...

As 8pm rolled around so did 200 kids in the pouring rain. It was the longest set in A Farewell Rescue history including 4 new songs. Thank you to everyone who came out to see us and stood there like it was woodstock. Also a thank you to those who came out to see us twice. We love milwaukee and everyone that resides there.

Following this amazing day we would begin our trek to st. louis where we again saw some great friends and had a great time. Thank you to Garreth, Tony, and the 12 Summers guys who hung out with us, making us remember how awesome a tour could be.

After much grilling and chilling we drove to Nashville to play and stay with our good friend Josh who knows how to throw one hell of a good time. Rock band, Beer, Rambo's Birthday, Food, and Mystery Science Theater 3000 (or is it 2000? don't ask me I wouldn't know. keep up with the good drugs dirty doper. You're dumb as hell)
Anyway after what would be a very long forthcoming of no showers, we headed to pensacola florida by way of lynchburg Tennessee.

To the JACK DANIEL'S DISTILLERY!! We got to breathe in some sweet smells but that's about it. Because we are poor as hell.

Arriving in Pensacola was a trip to say the least. A day of beach, sea lice, wings and napping was most appreciated. After playing an amazing show with our friends in Terrific Kid, the shit nearly hit the fan. We can only describe this in one word...

Zidbitsmidgetsbudonkadonksignshotgundanceparty

Anything you ever expected to happen in your entire life happened that night.

Off to Orlando where we sweat all day and rock to no one. Why you ask? well of course i'll tell you.

The show was cancelled and we were the only band that showed up. Interesting. Thanks for the memo. So the promoter kindly let us play anyway and it was much appreciated. Thank you to Mikey from Girls, Girls, Girls for coming out.

Now we reside at Joey's uncle's house debating what to do for the rest of the evening.

Spaghetti dinner? Hellboy Midnight show? Drive all night to Georgia? One of these will be history.

Watch you guys play....
Category: Music

WELL, lets talk about a little thing called blogging, and how you should only do it when you have something to tell or are drunk. CHECK!

Okay so we broke those rules a little bit. For those of you who actually checked our blog and got excited about it every once and a while...sorry. We're lazy or just Joey is. Most of our absence of blogging was due to 12 summers old getting us belligerantly drunk every night. So for the 3 months of updating...We had a very sad ending to our tour with 12 summers old. And by sad we mean they didn't come move in with us and live happily ever after. We love those dudes and hated to see them go. But the good news is we are heading to their town to teach them a lesson in playing the field...of beers.

Flash forward to DISAS*TOUR, whose name doesn't even rightly due it justice. To serve as a lesson in naming a tour, always keep in mind that dreams really do come true. Here is a checklist:

1. The shows in NYC were absolutely horrid. BIG SURPRISE!!!

2. We got to play a going away show with our favorite band. Groundbreaking Ceremony. In Milwaukee we will dig for buried treasure.

3. On the way to Geneva our rear tire blew out.

4. Then Walmart blew our wallets out....repeatedly

5. Upon arrival in Geneva, our rear tire was beginning to melt.

6. Back to Walmart where we cooked cardboard burgers in a makeshift camp at the parking lot.

7. Good morning Walmart! Thanks for tires that were 3 sizes too big!

8. Cram 4 useless oversized tires in an already overstuffed van.

9. Drive to Michigan and cry when we say goodbye to They're Liars

10. Arrive in Milwaukee, and watch your prized posessions disappear. (Aaron from ACE has his cell phone stolen)

11. Drive 5 hours to Minnesota to play a metal show.

12. Back to Milwaukee (what are we thinking) and ACE loses a tire.

With this kind of a streak we've already decided that our next tour will be called:

"The big tittied-women, free gas and indestructible tire Tour"

Somehow we can already see the poster being a fat chick stuffing her face with bean burritos in a pouch hanging over her waistline.

In other news we will be at Summerfest on Wednesday at 8:00pm on the Refugee Stage. Don't miss it!

Bah too many people! Too much noise! I promise the next blog will be more informative

See you soon

hittin and spittin (pastors and 15-year-olds)
Current mood: ashamed
Category: Goals, Plans, Hopes

In case you haven’t noticed the 6-piece-caravan of chaos is on the loose again for a lovely rainy spring tour. So lets start this off with a little bit of a recap.

Show 1. King of Kings Lutheran Church in Long Island: If you would think one would be safe in a haven of pastors and little boy pictures; you apparently didn’t get the memo...written in spit. We showed up at this awesome all ages venue and my goodness there is something in the water in that town. I’m talking gummy beary juice. A lot of it. I never thought that I would ever say that a show was good yet at the same time see a pastor get spit on and threatened. The last band of the evening encouraged kids to "move around" Apparently this meant swan dives off pianos and clotheslining 15 year old girls as they ran for safety. Johnny got punched in the stomach by a kid half his age and twice his weight. After ousting these no-gooders, a kid pushed the promoter and spit on the pastor in a church. Nice.

Show 2 Webster’s Underground in Hartford, Connecticut: A metal band used the best mosh call of all time. "Someone better call Triple A, cause there’s gonna be a breakdown." I laughed for a few days over this nonsense. The city has gotten a little bit cleaner over the past year with a lot less bullet holes and 50% less stabbings. Yet a 7 foot tall blonde suicide girl reject in a top hat rushed us out of the venue saying only the "national acts" could stay. Sean tried to clarify what in fact a national act was and if 2 US tours and a national distributed cd meant we were merely weekend warriors. She said "no just the bands that sell the place out," to which he responded "like wu tang?" Funny story, we were informed earlier in the evening that wu tang cancelled their show. Eat it.

But wait there’s more...

After we finished up we had plans of driving to boston. A very nice fan offered to let us stay at her place. Let me start off by saying a little something from the heart of every struggling musician: If you are offered something that you don’t have (a.k.a. a room instead of a parking lot) you take it. So with this in mind we drove to her house and started eating spaghetti. Happy ending to a long day. Think again.

Within mintues Godzilla busted out of her bedroom screaming like she was looking for Mothra. Apparently friendly girl lived with her aunt who is a cheap hoebag that doesn’t really pay any rent. She crept up behind me and asked the following: "So what the f!$ does a band from Pennsylvania do? Come out and F!$ing mooch off of hard working people and steal all their $h!t? You guys need a f$%ing plan, you are a bunch of losers."  After entertaining this fat pig that looked remarkably similar to Rosie O’Donnell (sorry rosie) we gave her the whatfor...a good talkin to! We peaced the hell out of there after telling her that we weren’t Aerosmith yet and why would she ever expect a big band to stay there in the first place? It was a nice swift kick in our nuts reminding us that all we have is each other. So onto boston.

Show 3 AccuBilliards in Boston, Massachusetts: This show was pretty much awesome. All the bands were great and the place was sweet. Nothing negative to report. So we had to make a story for ourselves. We found candy corn soda in the van from halloween and decided to have our own skeet shoot with them. Fun times for all.

Show 4 The Cakeshop in NYC: It smelled like bleach and piss but Josh brought up that it smelled like a meth lab. Interesting...Either way the hipsters looked at us angrily with our fancy amps and normal clothes. It was the first time we felt underdressed in a slum. Yet we called to them like a drug and went over much better than expected. Oh yeah we ate fallafel and took pictures with bums. Stay away from the used sex toy shop. Dusty dicks and filthy clits. Nasty.

Today we head to buffalo and I don’t have to even explain why that is awesome. On a side note and perhaps a more important one. We need as much support as possible for the battle of the bands in this year’s warped tour. Please Please Please listen to our new exclusive track and register to vote. It is incredibly easy and will go a long way for us.

Check that out to hear our new unreleased track

"Keep the Change (You Filthy Animal)"

We are sarcastic assholes so anyone from these shows don’t take it personally. Thank you to everyone that helped us at the shows; Promoters, Soundguys, Bartenders, etc. Except for that girls aunt. You can go to that used sex toy shop.

Much Love

Butt Claps and Toe Cracks
Current mood: dorky

Hey now! Thank you to everyone for your support and excitement over our time away. We are back in town and up to our usual antics: work, sleep and video games. We have a lot of updates here in the next couple of weeks about our Full House tour with 12 Summers Old. If you are reading this you have probably already seen our tour poster, and I know what you are thinking...Why in the hell isn't John Stamos on it? Uncle Jesse deserves his fn due. I smell an ADBTs shirt if you know what I mean. Back to the important subject matter: The New Recording. I can honestly say that these 4 songs are something to be excited about. Thank you to Doug White for once again making our artistic visions become a reality. We are now facing a dilemma. We have some tasty jams and we want to put them to good use. I personally can only think of one solution...

POLL TIME!!!

Dost mine eyes deceive me? Dare I post the song titles? My goodness this just might be fun. Send us some comments with your pleading and we'll see how long you can wait.

So I guess the real question is...How bad do you want them?

Winter Wassailing
Current mood: handsome

It took a combined 4 hamburgers, plus 2 and a half feet of Ted's Fire Dog, to survive an ice storm that raged through this county at epic porportions. That's about as exciting as I can make the past storm that is deemed "everyday weather" here in Buffalo. We've recently learned that with recording up here comes odors that could easily be filed under the firey depths of hell's anus. We are almost done with this session and we are now going over things with a fine toothed pic (like the guy in Space Balls) and the good news is "we ain't found shit." Tonight has consisted of talking shit, eating shit and taking shit. We are relaxing in the hotel room drinking a wide array of your staple generic beer, with the exception of course of Micheloeb's Pomegranite Raspberry piss...It kinda tastes like sparkling cider, if you water it down and make it as boring as possible. Chase keeps asking me "whats up" while i stare at him like the monkey from Family Guy and point my finger. He just asked "what are you typing?...Good stuff?" and my only accurate answer is..

Let me entertain you!

P.S. I just now realized that Chase and I are the only two people in the room. Chase wants to go Wassailing. Awkward.

blog spit city (destination Johnny’s Face)
Current mood: aroused

These eyes...

Da DA DA DA Da.

Live from the land that time forgot...Lockport, NY. It has become pretty evident that this place is quickly becoming our second home and favorite places to stop. We are in the studio once again with Buffalo's finest, Doug White, and laying down some new tracks for the new year. Armed to the teeth with Rostitos and Chicken Wings we are well on our way after day one. We would be lying if we said it was anything but the food that fueled our digestive fires (in more ways than one). The drums are complete and we are ready to tackle day 2. Stay tuned for updates on the progress and news on when we will post anything.

Keep your friends close, and your blue cheese closer.
