Relax: Nothing is under control.
Current mood: devious
Quick announcements:
New books on the way, gang! And they are:
All Encompassing Trip by the lovely, talented and highly caffeinated Nicole Del Sesto. Take a ride with Nikki, Amber and Lefty as they attempt to restore the light and prevent Nikki's eyes from being stolen by an Irish midget.
Not Quite One of the Boys by Vincent W. Sakowski. While drug-dealer Maxi drinks with Dante in purgatory, God and Satan play a little tri-level chess and do a little bargaining over his business partner, Vinnie, who is still left on earth.
13 Thorns by Gus Fink and Gina Ranalli. 13 illustrated tales of bizarro horror featuring super heros, monsters, goth girls, voodoo witches, genius children and royal vermin. All of the books can be pre-ordered (and sometimes signed and/or inscribed) here: Afterbirth Books at shocklines.com.
Buy a couple copies, folks. These ones you'll want to share.

Sad news
Current mood: sad
Well, we at Afterbirth have reached a sad decision today. Due to the vast amount of submissions we get each and every month, we've decided to close to unsolicited submissions for a while. We just can't keep up anymore and it's not fair to make writers wait months for a response from us. We know that's how most publishers work--the long waits--and we never wanted to be one of those publishers. We always felt it was disrespectful and, often, just flat-out rude.
So, instead of becoming one of those places, we have to do something we hoped we'd never have to do. The lesser of two evils, I guess
But, the good news is that this won't be a forever thing. We just need to dig our way out of this massive mountain of subs we have and then we'll be back to being to open to whoever wants to send us something.
Those of you who have sent us something in the last few months and have not yet heard back from us, please accept our apologies. We WILL get to you soon. Have patience, Grasshopper. The time is near.

Free Book Raffle
One of the Afterbirth authors, Gina Ranalli, is going to raffle off a free book (either Chemical Gardens or Suicide Girls in the Afterlife)! All you have to do to enter is put her in your top 8 friends for the week, and send her a message that you've done it (you'll see her on the top 8 here on my profile). Then one winner will be randomly chosen. What a cool way to get a free book...
Repost this so others can get in on the drawing, too. Ends October 8.
