its been a long time. a lot has been going on. sugar among other things.
heres that clipping:
The elusive 'it,' the wondering we all have; "am I right?"
Because no one really knows if they're right, no one really knows if the concept they have of the 'other' is right, the 'outer being' has no definition, no final truth, for it remains a concept; a notion in the mind, supported by experience, related ideas and that lovely little nudge we call; an idea. People have lots of them, people become aware of themselves through ideas, they become aware of others by them, we have knowledge because we have ideas.
Dictionary.com defines an idea as; "any conception existing in the mind as a result of mental understanding, awareness, or activity."
We have ideas because we have activity, we have activity because we have awareness, yet we have awareness because we have existence; and existence seems to be the result of some sort of notion, arguably an idea stemming from some higher 'being' or 'power' or a conscious effort from God, or, we are the result of a muck of random activity or random events. Activity though again, comes up,

I don't really have time to be writing a blog right now; lately; things have been utterly insane, in fact im looking out the window as I type because im looking for my producer to come meet me here at this Argo tea.
A few things:
1) I ran, RAN across the street because coming into Argo tea would make me accessible to internet. Pretty ridiculous.
2) I've been seeing articles, well I saw one article about how people are eager for there to be cell-phone usage on planes, Alex no likey. Not at all. Please; a) I don't want to be exposed to your conversations; b) I don't want to be having phone conversations on planes, being on a plane is sadly a new age sanctuary i) you are close to God; ii) you are unaccessible; you don't have anyone to answer to; just you and your seat and probably the obnoxious baby next to you; but you're in this 'zone' please, no cellphones.
3) speaking of running, run now to the store and buy the new "Mint Mojito" Orbits Gum flavor, life changing at very least.
4) I'm producing a movie, a short film I wrote called "Sugar", if one wants to be involved or an extra, let me know. * we are raising funds for this puppy, if that interests you; please inquire.
So. That's about it. Lots more; I have more thoughts about the cell phone thing, I have thoughts about how I RAN across the street in order to be on the internet, God help us.
An age of spectators, addicted to addiction, slave to connection.
More soon, yes?
Favorite moment this week, go.

Well there is no snow on the ground here in Chicago; its been warm, its been cold but not snowy. It doesnt need to be snowy. It could be sunny. My Dad used to tell me about how he played golf on Christmas Day back in like 1981 or something, maybe it was '79, one of those years it was like 75 degress on a day in which it should be like 32 and snowing. Christmas should have like 15 inches of snow on the ground, a fire glowing in the fireplace, egg nog in a glass, the tree lights on, 20 or so family members gathered round opening gifts and smiling and Bing Crosby singing White Christmas on the record player phonograph in the corner of the room.
or does it have to be like this?
what about Christmas in Egypt, or Nairobi? what about San Deigo, whats Christmas like there; theres no snow there. but there are families. those places have families people.
well i dont like to let blogs or posts go unfinished; but im at work; distracted; adn not focused on the matter at hand; maybe im more focused on other matters at hand; whats going on in my life perhaps; maybe i can run that by you quickly.
Do These Pants Make Me Look Fake at Second City has been great; every show has been a hit; even the one where i called Mallorie "jeremy" in a scene and had to recover quickly by saying; "no, Jeremy is your sisters name, wait..." and then it was over; and we had SO MUCH fun recovering from that.
Writing is going great; lets just say thats ALL im going to reveal right now.
Andy Davis and I are talking about how we as creatives, or artists; need to create the best we possibly can; never assuming that going all the way would be 'over the top' or 'arrogant' USE THE BEST RESOURCES YOU HAVE. and if you dont have them FIND THEM.
Im doing Improv left and right around town; places like The Spot and soon will be performing at iO (formerly Improv Olympic) on sundays at 8p.
Brotally is great; keep buying shirts; thanks for the support.
my Christmas will be great; no matter how dysfunctional it is.
To send out a quick update before I head to work; I wanted to let allayall know that I've been doing a lot of acting lately. I just wrapped a short film by Carlos Haynes a local Director and Editor at a post-production house in Chicago called Foundation Post. We shot all of last week and shot on 16mm film. a blast we had I'll tell you.
I've also; if you havent noticed; been working on three shows opening up; one is a show by two writers; Erik Gernand and JennAnne Gledhill, Directed by Jay Steigmann; its called Do These Pants Make Me Look Fake. The other shows are another Second City show; a writing show; and an improv show at improv olympic.
fun times.
fun times.
I realize there hasnt been a lot of effort expelled into this small posting today; but the intent I assure was very much intended.
the morning trains are whizzing by as I'm reminded of how I must off and go to work now. The days are crazy; work in the morning for the director rep, and trek off to second city or some rehearsal space, or a class at improv olympic, and then go do a knee-slappingly hysterical set at a small new improv club called; The Spot. And then, coming home, sending out some Brotally shirts and hitting what many have been known to call; 'The Hay."
feel free to google things like:
