Donations in honor of Sarah Palin, yes I said Palin.
Current mood: accomplished
9/30/08 I had to add an update on this. I was just sent a link about how much Planned Parenthood has received so far in Palin's name. Currently $760,000. Good stuff. Check it out yourself and pass it along!
(I received this idea via e-mail from a friend and thought it was good enough to share with everyone)
Dear Friends:
For anyone that wants to keep a woman's right to her own body with her and out of the government's hands, you are likely not thrilled with the idea of Sarah Palin and her extreme stances on women's issues (she wants Roe vs. Wade overturned and opposes abortion even in the cases of rape, incest or the woman's health at risk) taking up nest anywhere near the white house.
If you want to make a statement but if you don't feel you can't support the Obama campaign financially, may I suggest the following fiendishly brilliant alternative?
Make a donation to Planned Parenthood. In Sarah Palin's name. A Planned Parenthood donation is tax deductible, while a political donation isn't.
And here's the good part: when you make a donation to PP in her name, they'll send her a card telling her that the donation has been made in her honor. Here's the link to the Planned Parenthood website:
You'll need to fill in the address to let PP know where to send the "in Sarah Palin's honor" card. I suggest you use the address for the McCain campaign headquarters:
McCain for President
1235 S. Clark Street
1st Floor
Arlington , VA 22202
Feel free to FORWARD THIS TO ANYONE WHO MAY FEEL AS GOOD AS I DO ABOUT THIS!!
* Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2 October 1869 in Porbandar, India. He led India's movement for independence from British rule and is one of the most respected spiritual and political leaders of the 20th century. In 1948 he was assassinated by a Hindu fanatic who opposed his tolerance for all creeds and religions. Gandhi is honoured by his people as the father of the Indian nation and is called 'Mahatma', which means Great Soul.
So, some of you may have heard, some of you maybe not so much. But I'm seriously thinking about moving to Northa Carolina in early '09. Specifically the Charlotte area. Anyone who knows me, knows LA isn't exactly the place I want to stay forever and it's starting to seem more and more that maybe I can get out sooner than I thought since all my work has been going elsewhere in the country anyway. I wouldn't be going there for work necessarily, but it's nice that the state does have productions coming through so that the possibility will be there. I guess I'm just spreading the word a little in case any of you have any personal thoughts/experiences with the area that you feel the need to share with me. or to let you know you'll have a new place to visit me at sometime in the relatively near future.... For those of you wondering what the hell I've actually been working on the past several years.... Here are some of the trailers of films I've worked on.
No matter what your opinion is of our current war, or if you prefer Blue or Red, I hope that you'll join me in keeping the men & women who wear our country's uniforms in your thoughts and prayers.
Especially for a friend of mine who was recently injured while serving his country. Please say a prayer for him and his speedy recovery. And for the rest of them that there will be a way for them to come home safely.
Have you ever had someone close to you become a complete stranger? Someone you really thought you knew. And then you find things out that make you question everything. Makes you wonder if you ever really knew them.
Some of you may have heard my ramblings about needing to find one word that would encompass both nephews and nieces. You know, like parents is for both mom and dad, grandparents cover the two of them, even cousins takes care of a group. But there's been nothing to use for nephews and nieces. And since I have at least one of each, it's been bugging me a little.
So, this is what I've settled on. Niblings. I think it's kinda cute and as a derivative of siblings, I think it makes sense. And hey, it's way better than my first thought of nefieces. That just sounds all kind of wrong......
So join me won't you? Use niblings in your life, I think it may just catch on. And when it does, know that you heard it here first. :)
Now, I just have to think of the word for aunts and uncles, any suggestions?
