Current mood: bouncy

It's amazing how much going excercising will do for you. Seriously.  I was having a good day which turned down a bit. I threw myself a pity party for about ten minutes.  Usually I would go get ice cream, over think, and over analyze everything I was giving myself the pity party for. But I didn't! :-) I channeled my negative energy into something positive and now I feel sooooooooooo much better.

I need to do this more often. I'll be closer to my goal weight. lol

Lately...
Current mood: blissful

...things have been going smoothly for me lately and I  love it! I've gotten into a routine that allows me the right amount of time for work, school, working out and occasionally going out on the town.

I have an A in Statistics so far.  I have a C in my Management class. And today my visual arts professor, Brian, told me that my 3 value reduction drawing with charcoal and pastels was my best work I've done! Eeeek!

I've been working out and watching what I eat for almost a month now and I've lost ten pounds.

Life couldn't get any better than this.

Stupid Lafayette Police!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Current mood: awake

It's almost 4a.m. I have to be at work for 7a.m. I should be sleeping. My alarm isn't set to wake me up until 5:30a.m. So why am I awake?  Because Lafayette PD are stupid motherfuckers!  I woke up to the sound of a police officer yelling through his bullhorn/intercom thing "Step out of the vehicle and put your hands on your head!" I wake up and think to myself "Oh Lord, what the hell is going on?!"  I walk over to my front window of my bedroom which faces the front part of the house to see what's up.  There's a truck pulled into the front part of my driveway with two cop cars blocking him in with both of their blue lights on going round and round. I thought that maybe these guys were for one of my neighbors downstairs. I was gonna dismiss it as that and climb back in bed. But they weren't for my neighbors.  Lafayette police department decides that they're going to pull this specific guy over into my driveway... instead of Lee Street which is one block away and not in someone's driveway that could possibly be sleeping! Idiots!  I live in a really old house, so I can hear everything from inside it.  Apparently the guy drove past a police officer,  who was in his car, and said "Fuck you!" to the said cops.  That's their entire reason for pulling them over. They weren't really drunk. Oh no. They weren't even swerving. They simply said "Fuck you!" alledgedly.  The guy was cuffed and facing down the police car as he said "I don't get it dude! I didn't do anything wrong! I'm pro libertarian! I'm pro (this and that)!" Yay, you idiot, let's argue with a stupid police officer.  The police officer who is cussing at the guy the entire time and holding him down then addresses him and says "Sir, do not call me 'dude'. I am an officer of the law!"  They were outside for about 15 minutes going back and forth and then they let the guy and his two friends that were sitting in his truck to leave.

Lesson to police:

1.) Learn how to arrest someone for something good.

2.) Learn how to take a "fuck you" like a man. They're probably some stupid drunk frat guy anyway.

2.) If you're going to pull into someone's driveway, who by the way is probably sleeping, arrest their asses!

Fussy fussy... :-)

I’m stressed out more often than not. I overthink things waaaaaayyy too much. I wish I didn’t care so much. I really do. Then I wouldn’t overthink things and make myself unhappy. There’s no need to be upset at all. I just let myself get into stupid over analyzing situations pretty often. I want to turn off the world and not care. Damnit why am I the motherly type?!?!?! Please dear lord make me a naive idiot like the rest of the world!

That’s all.

You got nice knockers!
Current mood: chill

I love drunken old men... not really.  Last night was lots of fun. Lauren and I got some yummy Chinese food and then headed off to Caffe for some trivia.  Sue yelled out from the bar side that some guy was buying everyone a shot!  I didn't think a shot was worth me getting up from the cafe side so I stayed put.  But when Lauren came over with a Patron and pineapple drink, I just had to go over.  There was a guy who looked like he could be my Dad. (grey hair & everything. I'm not knocking grey hair... only on this guy)  He said "You're pretty!" I thanked him and he bought me a drink of Patron and pineapple as well. He then continued to ramble in a drunken incoherent speech pattern for the rest of the night.  He kept asking Lauren and I how old we were about every ten minutes. It was HILARIOUS!(and a bit creepy)  Caffe was really crowded. Then he burst out with "You got nice knockers!" OMG?! That's when I got scared. Had it been one of my friends it would've been alright but this guy was like my Dad, way too drunk and way too serious about trying to get with me. Nasty...

That was a funny night. It's nights like this where I'm glad Lauren and I are friends. Times where you don't to say anything with words and it's all in glances that say "OMG?! Is he serious?" and things of that nature.

Most interesting night I've had in a while. I ended up going home at about midnight because I had class this morning.

Ce tout!

Goodness
Current mood: chipper
Category: Blogging

Things have been going quite well lately.  I put my application for my degree into the College of Liberal Arts today. I now have priority scheduling!  Yay!  It all seems so real now. Graduation is just around the corner and I think that in it of itself is enough to keep my spirits up for a while.  I have a few great friends that keep me in check and are always entertaining.  Although there are a few things I would like to have in my life that just aren't there, I am okay with that.  Those things come with time and patience.

Okay so this is a positive rant and it's not raging with negative, whining b.s. that usual blogs should be filled with. But life's too short to concentrate on the negatives.

You've got to accentuate the positives and eliminate the negatives. Latch on to the affirmative. Don't mess with Mister In-between.  :-P

I'm happy... sue me.

Mardi Gras 2008!
Current mood: breezy

Started off Monday night. Lauren and I went to Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge to see a band that she likes which I ended up loving!  If you have the chance to ever see "Band of Horses" live, I highly recommend it.  Tyler Ramsey was first up to play solo. He looks like a hott Jesus and it was great! He picks the guitar with his fingernails and is super talented. He's also the bassist for "Band of Horses". The second band ( can't remember their name) sucked really bad!!!!!!  That's probably why I can't remember their name.  All of the people around me were bored and waiting for them to get off the stage. I think my ears were bleeding from the agony of the suckiness of this band.  Then "Band of Horses" came on and rocked the house!

Lauren got the set list and a drum stick. Both got signed by the band.  After that we drove straight into New Orleans. We got there at about 4a.m. and then proceeded to walk with Dave and Steve to Walgreens from Dave's house. That was an interesting walk. Got breakfast food and sinus medicine for the cats he has.

Got four hours of sleep and woke up for Mardi Gras. We had an amazing time on St. Charles Avenue watching Zulu, Rex and various other parades. Those people are stingy with their beads. They'd fight people for them. Almost saw some ghetto fabulous women get into a fight with some trashy drunk lady who was trying to get a picture with her camera phone.  Went back to Dave's where we had a dance party and played Catch Phrase. Boys... you will never win against the girls! muahahahaha!

Went out to eat with the guys at St. Charles Tavern. The food there was... a little bit nasty... but bareable. Mel's is better Lafayette peeps! :-)  Watched a movie with Dave.

All in all I'd say that I had the best Mardi Gras ever!  I'm definitely going to dress up next year!

That's all I have to say about that.

Goodbye 2007! 2008 is the year of the individual? Didn't know that until last night when Brooke told us.  You're damn skippy it's the year of the individual!  I'm going to concentrate on me this year. :-)

No more worrying about others and forgetting to take care of myself.

staying indoors is the best choice I've made in a while.  It puts things in perspective.  I feel more relaxed and free.
