4:01 PM - No More Work, the countdown has begun
Current mood: anxious

So, I guess I am getting married on Sunday. Unless Neil does something stupid, like miss his flight. I am very excited about this vacation, although it hasn't really hit me yet. I sent Ellen down to Montego Bay this morning, she and John will get the dresses cleaned and take care of things until we get there. She has promised that she wont get sunburnt before Sunday. I am dropping off the cats on the way to the airport. They are going to hate me. I am very happy to be out of the office for more than a week. I plan to lounge on the beach with my iPod and my husband, sipping drinks, and getting funny tan lines. Everyone has given us a nice send off, The girls in my office took me out Monday night, Neil's office took us to lunch today. My friends and family are all wishing me well. It really makes me relax. I was really worried about not having a wedding. I was worried at how everyone would be upset. Now that I see how much attention that we are getting without a ceremony I am so happy that I chose to elope. I mean, no offense, but I am not enjoying all this lime light. I enjoy my Neil and Allison time, and not having a big wedding was the perfect way to go. I am very happy about the reception dinner. I wish that some of my friends who can't go, could be there with me. Lori almost got away with the trip but I am going to have to settle for waiting until April to get to see her again. I hate not having more cons in common, once a year is never enough to visit with some people.

I will miss everyone who is still here though. I'm sorry you can't all be on the beach with me getting tan and having fun. Well actually, I am very happy I get to relax alone with my honey. Getting massaged and being waited on by our personal Butler. Obvioiusly I will be completely out of touch with the real world by Friday morning. My laptop, my cell phone everything will be at home. I am not checking my emails, and not taking calls. If you need me, I mean a real emergency kind of need then you can figure out a way to call me at the resort. I will try to check my mail sometime tomorrow, but with all the errands and packing I am not making promises.

So this is my official goodbye. I will get online again a week from Friday. Lots of Love, I will send you all pictures.

11:55 AM - Another Friday, another mile long blog.
Current mood: blah

What can ya do? i am still in awe over the past weekend. I understand everyone is probably in that Post D*C funk. That "why the heck is this event only once a year* mood. I totally sympathize. A combination of not taking my medications all weekend, and being shut off from all of my friends, new and old, has put me seriously down in the dumps. I do what I can to surround myself with friendly faces, I changed my screen saver to a group of pictures of last weekend and am currently in the process of printing out some costume stills, and some various other things.
Considering all things, I know I have no reason to be sad. I try to keep a cheerful face in front of other people, but Neil is starting to worry about me.
I take comfort in the fact that this weekend I am going to get a good heavy jump start into some costuming. I mean, if I can finish up other peoples Halloween costume's it leaves plenty of time for me to make something for myself.
I have taken the first steps to creating my masterpiece for next year. I ordered samples of some different sized (insert secret material here). Once that gets here and I decide which gauge I am going to be using for the bulk of the project I can really get that feeling of being underway.

A funny thing happened at work today. Well yesterday Cindy walked around passing out shirts from the upcoming movie Gridiron Gang. The shirts are a very used soft jersey material and say "Mustang Football" on the front. They are super comfy, and a perfect fit for most of the girls in the office. on a side note, the staff of Allied Advertising in Atlanta consists of 12 lovley ladies ranging in age of 22-40. All of whom are slim and very typical georgeous publicists. The rest of the staff are older women, and one Gay man. Back on topic.. I walked into work today wearing my new gridiron gang shirt, having the mindset that oh yeah, its Friday, I want to be comfy, and I know this is clean. Out of the 12 lovely ladies about 10 of us are wearing the same shirt with bluejeans. Its not so ironic, we often have the same way of thinking, especially on Fridays. The humorus part of this tale is that Today our office building has decided to award us with a BBQ in the parking lot. Taking up half the lot with tents and yummy smells we are all going to be filing downstairs to stuff our faces looking like an actual football team. I can only imagine what the other building employees will be thinking. We are known already by most men in the building as "The 6th floor hotties" So now we will be known as the 6th floor hottie mustangs? At least the confusion of which hotties in the building work on the 6th floor and which are just random floor loiterers will finally be put to an end. :-)
..

I re-peirced my eyebrow the other day. It doesn't hurt to re-peirce it, I haven't worn it all year, but after the initial punch it is totally back to normal. I can't feel it, unless I pull it or sleep on it. I have little silver balls in, I need to go shopping for some black ones again, I always preferred the black ones.

Ooh, I got a folder from the office closet for all of my costuming notes. I feel more organized already, I have lists for what I need to buy, what I want to buy. A place for pattern ideas, budgets, notes, emails I have printed with good suggestions. Everything I could possibly need referenced is here. Plus it is a good place to store all the cupons I keep clipping for hancocks and joanns. I am beginning to love junk mail. :-)

If I don't fuck around this weekend I think I can get most of the costume part of both my current comissions done. Sewing wise. the details will take longer. and I have to do boots too. When I say have to do, I mean I have to learn to do. I have never made boots before. I just hope I will have some more energy this weekend. My throat feels only half open it is hard to breathe. I guess I will stay away from projets that require breathing masks. :-)

I guess that's about it for now, I mean I have more to say but I also have work I should be doing. I know BIG SHOCK that I actually do have some work to do. But hey, :-) ocassionally I am worth my pay check.

10:16 AM - It's the return of Serendipity. D*C 2006
Current mood: bouncy

I know in the past I have gone on and on about how exciting Dragon*Con is, and how if you don't go annually your an idiot. I still hold true to that statement. Here it is, Wednesday before the con, Tom and Lori just got on the plane from Chicago and are headed this way as I type. My favorite party of the year is nearly upon us. My packing list is complete, and all of my costumes are ready. Ready, mind you a full 2 days BEFORE the con. It is like a record or something. Everything is in my favor right now. Okay sure, I just got a call that my car has a flat tire, So life isn't perfect. But if a flat tire is all that happens before I leave for the Marriott tomorrow evening then life is still wonderful.
I am so excited to be checking into the hotel on Thursday. I am thrilled to think that there may possibly still be room in the parking deck for the Marriott, and I wont have to walk the mile long bridge with a billion suitcases. Having the rest of the week off work is also great. I feel like the house will be nice and calm and my stress levels are way down. Neil is still working tomorrow, which gives me all day to pack us up and do the laundry. Make sure the hosue is in order for our abscence.
If you can't tell I am jumping up and down, trying to contain myself from the sheer excitment that the weekend has in store. I know you all have my cell phone, I posted it in a bulliten. I am hoping everyone will use it this weekend and track me down to say hi. Even if it is just for a moment. We have duel digital cameras and I am letting Neil carry around the video camera so there will be great documentation of the weekend.

EVERYONE REMEMBER to go to the parade 10:00 Saturday morning. I know I know it is freaky early and no one will want to be awake before 10 on a Saturday after a Friday night of parties. But Please. I am walking as the white witch, and my costume is totally awesome. It will be worth a look. :-)

Hope you are all as excited as I am. I am happy to hear everyone I want to see is going to be there. I've missed you all.

6:22 AM - I didn't realize
Current mood: amused

I was reading my bulletins this morning, which I admit, I rarely do these days; when I stumbled across my friend cheekymonkeyboy's post about Dragon*Con. He so graciously noted that there are only 36 days remaining until the best weekend of the year rolls around again.
As all of you who are planning on going, and all of you who will end up there anyway know this is a big weekend. I am very excited this year for a few reasons.
ONE - I will have all of my costumes finished with plenty of time to spare. No last minute hot glue and staples for me this year!
TWO - I have become an official storm trooper groupie for a very special trooper, TK118, Tom. He is awesome and I can't wait to meet him, Lori, hopefully Liana etc. We are going to party like its 1999.
THREE- This is just a little bonus. My White Whitch costume is going to weigh about 90 pounds so I am bound to loose a bit of weight. The only downside is I wont be able to run away from the really annoying smelly fan boys.
FOUR - I am checking in on Thursday, a day which I have normally skipped due to the fact that I live a mere 10 minutes away from the Marriot. But this year I have committed, mostly so I can spend that bit of extra time with my groupie friends. Oh how I wish I could see you more than once a year.

Warrior rikku will be recycled for AWA, so all of you anime fans who are too chicken to show up at Dragon*con will get to see it then. You should try to make a point to find me, the costume is pretty sweet. I just wont be allowed to walk around with John, he hates waiting for the pictures. :)

If I didn't have to revise The 'Inconvenient Truth' ads for the 50th time today I would continue to ramble on. But as it happens my work day has started out poopy and I will have to come back later.

SIGH

2:24 PM - MTAC REVIEW
Current mood: cheerful

M T A C - 06'
we had a blast. Of coarse :) John, Yad and I all had a great time hanging out with Dave. We met some fun people, and some annoying people. We went swimming in the Hot Tub, melted in the sauna, sat at our booth and made a little bit of money. The hotel was freakin' sweet!! Not only was the room free, but they gave us free breakfast buffet every morning. AND a 2 hour long HAPPY HOUR every day. It was so awesome, we got drunk at 5:30 and got dinner and hung out. A lot of the familiar faces were there this year, including Bob, and EM DeJesus. I met a few new people too, John and Yad were already friends with Greg and Jan, but because I am new to the con circle I was just meeting them for the first time. The only sad part about the weekend was not having Neil around. But you know what a sweetheart he is, he bought me a card and got the house set up for my "vacation".
among the nicer groups of people I had the pleasure of getting to know this weekend were the boys from Morlock Enterprises The nicest group of guys, they got a great gimic for anime cons. They will do well. One of them in particular was very nice, we had a long chat while he stood in line for autographs (that he would never receive, sadly enough).

Ellen is going to come visit with the boys on Saturday and on Sunday Jason, jodi, Neil and possily Jason Hill are all joining me up at The Buff's house for some yummy food. :)

Vacation is Sarting on Wednesday, don't forget I will be at home, and the only way you can reach me is via myspace, or a handy cell phone. I am hoping to get some more pictures uploaded soon, and get the page looking sweet again.

2:06 PM - Con Season Had Begun
Current mood: ecstatic

So, as most of you know, I am a retard about cons... I go to the anime cons with my friend's John, Ellen and Yad whenever possible. I don't like anime, it is the people and atmosphere I adore. When I am in my element, I don't get anxious or uncomfortable. This year con season started off with a good beginning and a very quick jolt of *aww poop* Neil, my lovely, and charming boyfriend, took me to the Renaissance festival last Sunday. I know, not technically a convention, but the people and attitudes are mostly the same. I did not dress up, because sadly enough my Renaissance corset happened to be one of the items stolen out of my last house just before I moved. I almost changed into my belly dancing outfit, but I chickened out. Not because I wouldn't wear it, but because it wasn't close enough to the Renaissance era of Belly Dancers.
I am sure that you have all noticed my hat picture. No, sadly I did not purchase that hat... I just have no need for a cool pirate hat, as I am, sad to admit, NOT a pirate. :(
After a beautiful day of frolicing with the festival goers, and turning into a LOBSTER I was exhausted. Luckily there is a few days of rest, oh wait, that's already over too. I am packing tonight for my frist official season con, MTAC. Which is the MIddle Tennessee Anime Convention. Ellen wont be there :( She couldn't get off work for both this one and the next one. But I will have Yad and JOhn. And I have been told I will be meeting the elusive Dave. Much rumored, though, I never thought he was real. It will be a fun weekend. Everyone call Neil, I don't know how he will handle having 4 days alone with the cats. He will be lonely.
After MTAC is ACEN... This is where the poop comes to play. I love going to ACEN, you get to fly to michigan, and its is a fun con. AND I was going to steal away some time to go see my Trooper Tom. I was very excited. Now I find out my surgery is scheduled for next week and I wont be well enough to go to ACEN. ...poop... Yad, and Ellen got mad at me because of it. Like I could control the way my body recovers. But, I was only really upset about them being pissed because they were mad that I was no longer contributing to the cost of the hotel. NOT because they would miss having my company. incase they are reading this.... (What jerks :P)
Summer is going to be lax this year, with recovery time and the pool I have in my new neighborhood. ;) BUT, while I have the down time I am going to learn how to make wigs, and possibly shoes, and weapons. So that my costuming skills can be fully honed. My new sewing room is so wonderful by the way. I love it to death. My Warrior Rikku costume should be done by the time I get home from the recovery center. I will use the wig, and sword and shoes that are coming as a guide to learning to make my own. So I can team up with Benjy and we can make some profits using our skills.
I am not going to get into how great Dragon*Con is going to be this year. Not yet anyway. I have costumes galore, and a millions faces to see. EXCITING!!
I will be home, not working the entire 1st week of May, so drop me a line and keep me company.

11:06 AM - There are other fish in the sea
Current mood: happy
Category: Life

I am almost totally overwhelmed this week. If it weren't for Neil I think I would have lost my mind about two days ago. Thank goodness he is around to keep me from going out of control and flailing about on the floor kicking and screaming.

For those of you who don't know, Neil is moving in with me. He is selling his house and we are going to play grownup. I guess he decided it was time, he is so old that he almost missed his window for growing up opportunities. I am not so old, but I have always felt more grownup than people my age. I blame The Buff for that one :)

As far as things go, Neil is living in my house with me while his place is on the market. He is going to move his furniture in next weekend. All of you guys out there who are close with neil better hang on to that. He will be pulling the friend card and making you help out. Because, like everyone knows, I don't help people move. Not even people I love. I am really excited about him bringing over his awesome comfy couches. Which will be the best compliment to my great TV/Surround sound system.

I am also sort of dividing the house. I told Neil he could have the basement, which he now lovingly referrs to as "the cave". I stole control over the spare bedroom and have turned it into a sewing heaven. SO AWESOME!! We are merging our belongings and it is a great way to sort of start spring cleaning. The earlier you get that out of the way the better.

Among some of our future "couple" projects, Neil and I have started getting the house situated and turned into our home. The list of ongoing projects for this week were to get the house painted, get a new maid service, and also get the plumber out to fix the leak that appeared in the kitchen months ago.

Well we got an acceptable quote from a well credited painter last Friday. The painter said that they would start first thing Wednesday morning. I managed to talk the painter down 600.00 in price. I would love to say it was my great powers of negotiation, however when I was asked to pay the original amount I just said I would rather pay this and she agreed. Easy as Pie. The owner of the painting business even drove all the way out to my office from Lawrenceville just to pick up my paint chips. A very nice company, as soon as the work is finished I will give all sorts of referrals. I had called the warranty people regarding the kitchen ceiling and they said they would be out Tuesday night. One of the reasons I had to skip trivia. I know you all missed me... Tuesday came and went with no plumber. I got a call saying that he would show up first thing Wednesday morning. (yeah right) You know how service people are, especially when they aren't being paid. So Neil and I sat around and waited for him to show up on Wednesday. It wasn't a bad thing really beacause the painters were able to question a lot of things and I was there to point out exactly what I meant and even contract them to do some extra work. The plumber fixed the shower... sort of...

I sat around and waited while he did his work. That included him leaving the house to get more tools, coming back, talking on the phone a lot and moving so slow, I could pull out my hair. But I was doing homework so I was fine. I was even able to finish my tear sheets. Which if you know, is the most horrible thing ever. But around 1:00 in the afternoon I was able to go to work. The bedroom was painted when we got home. Let me tell you, its beautiful. The painters need to pick up the pace [insert Neil's voice... heh heh pace] YOU DORK, though, they only did 2 rooms yesterday and at this rate they will be here too long. They had issues a bit yesterday though because when they were painting the spare room they had to use 3 coats of paint to cover the dark color. And they had to repaint the ceiling from where the dark paint had gotten up there. They also evened out the closet walls and filled all the holes. All of that extra work probably slowed them down yesterday. I have high hopes that things will be more completed this afternoon.

After coffee and ceral this morning I scooted off to work. I had to get out of the way of the painters, I just didn't want to sit around waiting to leave. I got to the office around 9:00 and my phone alarm reminded me that the comcast guy was supposed to show up and deliver our new DVR. I ordered it weeks ago, and had to confirm. So I called comcast and sure enough he was still on the roster to come out. SIGH... so back to the car, then back to the house... Luckily he was there when I got there and it only took a second to get switched out and Neil and I are now proud owners of a DVR system. One that I will only use to record Las Vegas on. I am sure he has many more programs in mind to record. I know how much he hates to miss the new lifetime originals....

Tomorrow I am recruiting Neil to be the at home liaison. Our new maid is going to come out and give us an estimate, and I refuse to miss more work this week. I have been home more than I have been here. Maybe he will get lucky and be able to leave the office early for the day to be home and wait for Joy. My mom uses her, and says that she is the best Maid ever. I am excited to get the house clean and all put away.

All of the distraction this week is the reason for the big change of date regarding Neil's furniture. We were planning on moving it this weekend, but with the risk of the painter still being around we just changed it to next weekend.

Benjy is going to come over on Saturday and we are going to pull out my chainmail skirt and make up designs for the corset. Getting my Narnia costume one step closer to completion. I am excited about that. So many things are going on lately. I am so happy overall, but the little things are really pressing on me.

I introduced Neil the rest of my family yesterday. He has officially been introduced to all of the Parham's and Smiley's now. Everyone was able to slip in subtle marriage hints to him throughout the coarse of dinner. Damn family members. They expect so much. This is just the first step in that direction. There isn't even any promise of anything. Calm Down Peoples! Geez

Needless to say when the next few weeks are over and things have settled down I will be perfectly happy. :) Neil seems happy too, he claims to be at least. I promise that I am happy he is living with me and its not just because of the great couches. Once everything calms down we have some great plans to fix up the house more. For example we are going to mount the flat screen, and redo the countertops in the Kitchen and upstairs bathroom. We are also taking off those horrible shower door thing.

Our future is very exciting and filled, we wont have time to hate living together with all the stuff going on. Thank goondess we already got the new bed. Which by the way, is totally sweet. its King Sized and space foam-tacular. I recommend you all get one. Great for sleeping, and big enough to where you can't even get close enough to be pushed away in bed.

7:15 AM - tragedy
Current mood: discontent

I was sitting down in front of NBC last night with my honey. As most of you know, I only watch one tv show ever... Las Vegas... Well after the new episode last night NBC has announced that Las Vegas is moving to Friday's. Why would they do that to me?! Take the one thing I like about Monday nights and ruin it. It is a sad day indeed. To thinkI am going to have to find something else to do on Monday nights now. And I don't even want to consider Friday's, I mean I can't stay home Friday nights just to watch TV. That is pathetic. I guess I could start taping the show and watching it on Monday's. Or Neil suggested it may be on demand, which would be another solution. Its all still not the same.

Speaking of Las Vegas, I do have to say this. Mary. Mary Mary Mary. what have you done to yourself?! She used to be plump and shiney and wonderful, as of last night you look anerexic and horrible. The shine is gone, replaced with small saggy boobs and a dull tan. Eat some fried chicken and return the glow that is going to be very much missed. It's bad enough that DeLinda is ruining the show just by being around, we don't need to loose you too. COME BACK MARY COME BACK

oh, and stay away from Nascar, it really doesn't suit you.

7:27 AM - Mini Fridge Mishap
Current mood: aggravated

well damn... I got to work today, realized I was hungry and decided to dip into yesterday's uneaten lunch leftovers. I opened the door to my mini fridge and to my utter dismay I see that one of The Buff's tab cans has EXPLODED everywhere. I mean top to bottom this mini-fridge is full of sticky tabcicles. Good thing its Thursday. You see, I am hardly ever busy on Thursdays, I will have the entire afternoon to scrub away tab residue. Just how I was hoping to spend my afternoon.

I had brought some of my rings into the office, so I could spend the afternoon working on my chain mail. But, I forgot to bring my plyers. At least I wont be bored. I brought some photo paper with me to work. I am going to print out some pictures today. :) It will be a fun use of time.

I need to start carrying my camera with me again, I haven't gotten any pictures taken this year. I need too. it is 2 months in already, what if my looks have drastically changed. How would you know!

okay, I am going to avoid the inevitable if I don't get on the ball. I will be checking my page often, trying to stall doing fridge scrub. So, write me a lot and keep me away from the torture. :)
