Angie said a song Challange, so here it is
Category: Writing and Poetry

"I'll be your candle on the water My love for you will always burn I know you're lost and drifting But the clouds are lifting Don't give up you'll have somewhere to turn
I'll be your candle on the water 'Till ev'ry wave is warm and bright My soul is there beside you Let this candle guide you Soon you'll see a golden stream of light
A cold and friendless tide has found you Don't let the stormy darkness pull you down I'll paint a ray of hope around you Circling in the air Lighted by a prayer
I'll be your candle on the water This flame inside of me will grow Keep holding on you'll make it Here's my hand so take it Look for me reaching out to show As sure as rivers flow I'll never let you go I'll never let you go I'll never let you go..."
I remember thinking how sad this was, more likely how bitterly pathetic. I was eight years old. I remember thinking "she is just waiting. . .waiting for something or somone who is never coming back." How could anyone just sit there. . .day in and day out and wait all alone. What could possibly be worth all of that? Nothing. She was just a pathetic old lady who lived with her drunken father, at least she was nice enough to take in the orphan boy, at least she wouldn't be all alone for the rest of her life. . .all alone sitting at the lighthouse. . .waiting.
Some 27 years later, I understand. . .I finally understand. Some things in life are worth waiting for. somethings cannot be replaced, and sometimes you just have to have the patience to be without what you really want in order to achieve what you really need.
So Helen Reddy. . .a.k.a. Nora. . . . you were right, and I as an eight year old girl was not knowledgeable enough to understand the mystifying ways of love and the power of attraction.
So today I wait, and only God knows exactly how long I will wait, but I do it because I have no other choice, and nothing else seems as logical. Is it bitterly pathetic? I am unsure, but I am sure that it is what it is. . . .time passing.

WordPlay Workshop Arcostic Challange. . .Prognosticate
Current mood: creative
Category: Writing and Poetry
Prognosticate
Play this with me, love. Go where our
Reality is foretold
Over and again by the
Gleam in my eyes for you, foresee the place where telling of
New and
Old, is unbound by our limited definitions
See in me our future
Tell me
I love you over and again, in absence of words, let me read the signs
Capture my heart by showing me
Always we will be, and
Then I in return will prognosticate our
Ever after as veracity

Tongue Tied (a Shotgun Poetry Pic Challange)
Category: Writing and Poetry

I'm sorry
did you speak
Your word. . . too weak
For me to hear
I would listen
if i could
it's all misunderstood
go ahead
mmmm
say it's all good
alabi's and lies
while my prescious time flies
away from me
to me your tongue is tied
or if you prefer something a little softer
what it is your body wants
talk to me with your eyes
but then again you always have
like you've bound my heart

Mother's Day Blues
Category: Writing and Poetry
Mother's Day Blues
There should be no cooking or cleaning I thought I won't run the vacuum or pick up a pot I will sit on the couch in my favorite spot Drinking a cup of Earl Grey that is hot These were the things, the things were my wishes Instead I woke up to a sink full of dishes I dusted and swept and I cleaned with full swishes I fed the cat and the ferret and all three of our fishes I called to my teen "Keep an eye on the children" This should have been a fair enough bargain I laid on my couch and I dreamed dreams of crimson I should have known better, but somehow I didn't While I lay in my sleep, in my silent slumber On the whole house, the kids did a number Glue sticks, glitter, and crayons galore After all of my work I could not take anymore I felt all the rage welling up as spoke What a Mother's Day treat, what a laugh, what a joke Is this really what I deserved when I woke? So a punishment up to their rooms I invoke And when the stairs they came back down I saw on their tiny faces a frown "What were you two doing, you can't act like a clown" "You must try and behave when mommy's not around" But mommy, my four year old said from afar We were making for you a mother's day card We cut it an glued it and tried very hard And right in the middle we put a big star The work I had done had not been all in vain The love that they have for me always remains So next time I feel this mother's blues pain I will simply remember this poetic refrain

My Shadowman
Category: Writing and Poetry
He's alone
The Shadow of the man
I once knew
Although
It hasn't always been like that
Not always
Sometimes
The walls talk back
As they surround him
They say yesterday
Was better and tomorrow
Doesn't come
The walls lie to him
But he believes
The Shadow of the man
I once knew
Now caught in a world
Few understand
Where quiet never finds him
Once upon a time
His life filled with laughter
Filled with love
Or filled with his mind's ruse
To help him get by
Lonely Shadow
Of the man I once knew
Stop this
And become
The man you once were

I
Category: Writing and Poetry
I
Am I
Beauty Personified. . . . .
By Grace
Drink deep of me and know
I am made of that
Which you must embrace
The look on my face
Alone. . .
Will tell you
I
Am Time
Ageless and Limitless
Fear me not
For I am on you side
Live me and Know
Forever you are bound
I
Am Woman
From me All life created
Not to be debated . . .
But known
I
Am I

The Knights WIsh
Current mood: creative
Category: Writing and Poetry
the Knight dismounts the gentle beast
and removes his sword from it's sheath
placing it in her hand he say's kill me now, and here
that i may never know true love again
the maidens plea to answer he so subtle and so pure
to kill you love would be a sin for I would love no more
then what of i i would rather die
then cling to life in vain to watch my flower on the vine wither and decay
fear not dear knight within my heart
the love for you remains it only has been bounded been bounded by these chains
now break me out and hold me close so I may bloom again
together we shall beat this death true love from start to end
I would like to give credit to my new friend Larry aka "Falling in a Dream"
for this beautiful collaboration
he started this piece
and is oh so talented the link below will bring you to him
