Luke Slater takes a break from releases on his Mote-Evolver label and hands over the production reins to the very talented Japanese DJ/Producer, A.Mochi and his latest 3-tracker, 'Poni E.P.'

A.Mochi is an outstanding live performer, producer and DJ on Tokyo's cool techno scene.  Originally he listened to rock and pop like many Japanese kids but when he first heard the phat basslines and dirty beats of electro, the impact changed his life and became the basis for his musical career.  This inorganic dark electro sound became his obsession and an interest in producing lead to experimentations on his PC.  Live performances and DJ sets at Tokyo's infamous Maniac Love club night followed, displaying his talents to a captured audience.  Since then he has become a leading light in the scene and released his debut EP in 2006.  Fast forward to 2008 and as well as being signed to Mote-Evolver he has also launched his own label, Resound Records.

The 'Poni EP' kicks off with the rippling beats of 'Flame', through it's slow, measured build up and underlying dark force, driving the track through to completion, as A. Mochi gradually throws in the beats.  'Blackend' drills into your brain from the onset, releasing its choppy beats and deep bass tones to great effect.  A beast for the dancefloor.  Lastly the title track 'Poni' clip-clops into view, showing off A. Mochi's depth of skill.  The landscape is lighter, but still retains those dirty trademark beats.

Blurring the musical genres of techno, electro and minimal, A. Mochi's 'Poni EP' will light up many dancefloors and makes a perfect addition to the Mote-Evolver catalogue.
