Interesting Weekend

Okay, so here it is, the novel that is my weekend!

Let's start with Wednesday since that appears to be the catalyst of the downward spiral (well at least it was the beginning in my eyes). Wednesday was just like anyother Wednesday in the world. I went to my Accounting Class, was bored out of my mind. Then I drove to church listening to some techno music, shaking my groove thing yeah yeah! I get to church, make some minor adjustments to the "Mirrors" video that Jason and I (mostly Jason) masterminded. You know simple adjustments like, oh that skipped a frame, let me fix that, add a transition here to blend the frames, oh make Chris' face a longer duration, adjust some sound levels, render, export, print to DVD boom, low budget/indie/production quality video. Cool that's out of the way! Next up to the plate, Eva Colunga Testimony Video. Working working working, edit edit edit, find cheesy inspirational music, HOTCHA!, show to Ellie, Jason, Dane, fix this, cut that, BANG got a video for Sunday!

Would you look at the time, I gotta to my meeting with Evan, Kevin, and Ken (haha that sounds like another language Evankevinken! Forget sapatapoche, here's a new word for you. haha) ANY WAY! So we walk over to the Student Ministry Building, talk about a few things about the night, then go out to eat and finish our discussion on Youth Group stuff. And as always, the indesicion sets in as soon as we get to the truck. Where do we go to eat!?! Well, we need to go somewhere close just because we need to get back to church in orderly time. So we say, okay TacoBell/KFC it is! we get in there and order, I get the number (whatever) which is the Mexican Pizza and two tacos. SIMPLE ENOUGH RIGHT!!?? So we eat, we talk, we laugh, we cry (not really, we weren't watching Steel Magnolias)

Then we get back to church. Of course Tribe Bright is already there reaking havoc ;) and being crazy fun! This is when Kevin and I decided it's a great time to play a mean game of Butt's Up with not one, not two, but three tennis balls, oh yeah you better believe it was fun, I got the most exercise in my life in that half hour! Whew! Then it's time to go inside for God time. We get all the kids settled, give the announcements MEGA WEDNESDAY, NEXT WEEK! DANNY RAY's GONNA LIVE OR DIE, WE'RE GONNA WORSHIP GOD, GONNA HAVE SOME SKITS, WHOOOO FUN, BE THERE OR GET LOST! Then we sing one worship song (sad day) because we were running out of time, we show Mirrors to everyone, then the high schoolers break off into small groups, and the jr.highers go to there room for a short talk by Adda and then small groups. All that went well, fine, AND dandy! After that we kick the kids back to their parentals and call it a night at Centerpoint Church.

After that we took our usual after church trip to Denny's for a night of relaxing banter and ever so loud conversations about the random aspects of life. About this time, hey, I'm not feeling so hot. It must be that Taco Hell acting up again! So I'm like, you know what, I'm not really hungry (which is no lie) and I decide well, a glass of milk will be nice and calming for my raging heartburn. oh and also, a chocolate shake just for desert, that sounds nice. That's when Krystle was like "dairy and dairy...REALLY?!" and i was like yeah, heartburn! Most of the rest of the night's conversations I don't really remember, because I was focusing on not feeling like crap, I was trying to do some force meditation healing, haha, that's right I'm a jedi! Although I do rememeber Lily, being a little terror, which was amazingly fun! she was throwing food at me and Krystle, bad table manners? who knows, but here at Denny's Centerpoint Church Edition, it's alright because we tip the waitress well!

After that, both me and Krystle are tired, so she's like, "take me home now if you want to live!" so we get in my car and I drive her home. we get to her house and I park the car, turn it off, prepare for another hour of just us time because as much as we want to go to sleep, we don't want to leave, so we talk, listen to the radio, her cat jumps on the hood of my car, i proceed to turn on the windshield wipers and scare the bejesus out of the cat which I am quite proud of myself for. she's offended at first and then realizes, oh i don't even like that cat so it's okay. we talk a little bit more, then she tells me to kick her out of the car or she's never getting out. So I go okay, I lean over open her door for her, give her a kiss goodnight and then say, "GET OUT OF MY CAR!" Then she did, I drove home. And that was the end of that night! Well, so I thought!

Thursday morning, all of a sudden, I'm not feeling at my peak again! I get up to go to the restroom, and BLAAM! I hurl! okay, i feel better now, but I better take some Mylanta just to be safe. Mylanta, chalky yet soothing. I go back to bed. A few hours later my alarm goes off, I need to wake up to go to school! I notice, oof I'm still feeling that Taco Bell, I go to throw up again, I do, and I feel great after noticing that a chunk of my mexican pizza came up with it, well that must have been it, I feel great now! I go to get ready but I notice something. I set the alarm for the wrong time, and my class is going to start in like 10 minutes, well it's too late now. So I'm getting ready to leave for work then, since there's always stuff to be done. I start to feel the urge to purge again but nothing happens. That's when I remember I have a bottle of Reglan in my room, that's a muscle relaxer/nausea reducer. So i take that, and I decide to stay home because I have no idea how the pill form of this works, I could be driving and this thing knock me out like the liquid form of it does. I lay down on the couch take an hour nap, wake up and I'm ready to go.

So I finish getting ready and head over to church, and start to work on a new set of videos and projects, when all of a sudden I feel tired again, so I lean back in my chair take a snoozer, a few hours later Rafa walks in to take out the trash and notices me there. He asks me if I'm fine, I say yeah because at that point I still thought I was going to be alright, I was just going through a sick spell or something. Looking back, I should have said no, just for the sole purpose of getting a Rafa Prayer, there's nothing like one of those, when he prays, things happen! So he goes okay, and leaves. I notice the time, oh good it's time for me to leave for my afternoon class, I have a midterm, can't miss that. And it's in Chemistry too, which is easy but annoying. So I'm driving to school and I'm thinking that my little power nap was the cure all to my day. I get into class, everything's great. About ten minutes in though, I start to feel it again, and I'm thinking, okay just another half an hour and the mid term will start, I can pump through it and get out, and go home.

Yeah, not the case, the more I try to hold in the contents of my stomach, the more their banging on the door to get out. Right then I decide, you know what, I can't do this, I need to go home, i can see if I can take this midterm another day, so I pack my stuff and get up to leave. Tell me why, I got the dirtiest look from someone. my bad, here let me throw up on you, maybe then you'll understand why I can't be here right now!, but anyways, i walk out and go straight to the restroom, head and toilet and out she blows! As much as I hate throwing up in public, this was quite a unique experience, why you might ask, because, it's a college restroom, someone is ralfing heavily, people begin to wonder if I went to the pub that's on campus. As i was heaving I was able to multi task and listen to the people that would walk in to the bathroom, hear me and go "oh" and walk right back out! So then I manage to pull myself together so that I could get to my car and go home. Walking from the Chemical Science Building to my car normally takes 5 minutes, this trip took about 15 because I was walking so super slow, I didn't want to jostle anything out of place.

I get in my car, drive home, the entire time praying that I don't pass out in my car, but if I most throw up, then let it be, I've done it before in my car, I'll do it again, it's nothing a little Resolve can't clean up later! I manage to get home, nobody know this till now, but I couldn't even get out of my car because as soon as I parked it, I layed back and passed out! I wake up about 10 minutes later and force myself out of my car and into the house where I proceed straight to the bathroom for another one on one session with the toilet bowl, my new best friend! Then I pass out on the bathroom floor. Dad knocks, "hey is everything okay?" "yeah, i'm just going to chill in here for awhile until it all comes out!" "okay" a little while later I get up wash my face and hands, brush my teeth, and then go get a G2 from the fridge, and I go to bed, I'm not screwing around anymore, I just need to sleep this off. Mom comes home a little later and says, okay, we're going to go see the doctor tomorrow, he can tell us what to do.

I won't go over the minutes of my night, but let's just say it was very long and grueling. My muscles now, despite the Reglan, are starting to stiffen because of all the action they've been getting, what with throwing up and all, and just about every organ in my torso is feeling not fun! It's starting to get hard to breathe. And of course, since I couldn't sleep, my mom couldn't sleep, so she had just as long of a night as I did! Finally, morning came, my mom had a quick meeting to go to, but she said when she gets back we're going to Urgent Care. But in the meantime, I should take a shower and keep trying to hydrate. I do, but I just keep getting worse. I'm now throwing up every 2-3 minutes, and I'm throwing up stuff and I'm thinking where is all this coming from I haven't been drinking all this. Well of course most of it was bile and other good stuff. Finally about 8:00am I call my mom from her meeting, and I'm like, "I don't think I can do this anymore, I can't hold on any longer."

She says okay, I'm leaving now! A few minutes later she pops in the door, says let's go, and we get into the car and drive off to Fontana Kaiser because of course Colton, the closer one, doesn't have Urgent Care. While in the car I throw up some more, don't worry, I had a barf bowl with me. and then we finally make it Kaiser and check in. The next 2 hours where the longest of my life, I wish I had gone unconcious, but I didn't, I got to be awake for this (maybe a good thing, a good reminder to not do this again) We went got to a doctor who really didn't see the urgency that we did, she sent us here and there to have this done, and that done, and then back to see her. And of course when we finally get back to see her, I'm crumpled up on the bed and she's trying to ask me questions like we're having a nice chat over tea and crumpets! Well finally, she sends us down to a waiting area where they give me a shot of something to relax me, since by this point all my muscles are contracted and I can barely breathe, each breath was literally agony. And they say it'll take 15 to 20 minutes for it to kick in, but until then I should just try to relax. Yeah right! Well as that's going on, they're hooking me up to an IV on my other arm, they're going to start hydrating me right away.

Finally about 25 minutes later the relaxer starts to kick in. It never fully works for me, but it was enough to make me fall go to sleep. Every half hour or so, I'd wake up and ask for a drink of water since I was by this time parched to no end. I could only take little sips though, otherwise I'd throw up, which I almost did several times, because I was trying to get greedy with the water. Hey, I was thristy! Well, anyway, I was in this holding room for about 2 hours, I really can't say, time escaped me most of friday! Finally, they say they have a room for me in the hospital, they're just setting it up and waiting for the ambulance to arrive. Finally it does and I get a trip around the block in an ambulance. What's funny is that my dad was able to walk to the other building faster than the ambulance delivered me, we ran into eachother in the hall and he was like, "what took you so long!" haha. So we take an elevator up to the second floor, and they bring me to my room 2121, I was able to walk to my bed (surprisingly) and everyone did a few things that I was oblivious to because I was going back to sleep now. Goodnight.

I wake up, I don't even know what time, but the nurses are doing their thing, it's still friday, evening I believe, and I look in the doorway and Adda and Evan are poking there heads in. I say, HELLLOOOOO!! but it wasn't really like that, it was quite quietier. We talked for I don't know how long about I don't know what, but I'm sure I wasn't making much sense. Then they decided to leave, who could blame them, I was rambling about God know's what. And I'm like, oh, okay, and then I go back to sleep. During the night, the nurses did the usual blood draws, blood sugar testing, urine analysis, keeping me from a full night's sleep. I was even threatened with a catheter once.

Saturday, I eat a healthy hospital breakfast that leaves you wanting more, but of something else! I'm channel surfing, nothing's on, but Saturday morning kid's shows, which I watch because ABC kids is fun! I don't know what time it is but the Aaker family pops in to see me in all my messy haired sickly smelly hospital bed glory! They tell me everyone's worried, I really freaked out Krystle, shame on me! Then Dane told me some jokes which of course ALWAYS make me laugh ( I want a raise for saying that ;) ) He told me, next time I was sick, just see him, he is a doctor after all. Then they left and the day went on, Hospital lunch, yummm my favorite! Nothing is on TV except for Degrassi The Next Generation (rip off of Star Trek TNG?) so I watch it and it's boring but whatever, the nurse comes in and sees me watching it and has a laugh about it. hahaha to you too! :) anyway! The day is basically long and boring with the same amount of tests, draws, and tests. My parents came in for awhile to see me, then the were like, okay bye, see you tomorrow. and i was like okay bye, then i fell asleep for awhile. Around 8:00ish Kat and Krystle came in and we talked and laughed it up, and I was told by Krystle to expect the lecture of the century when I get out of there.

Well, anyway we all talked some more, we flipped over to the ball game DODGERS WINNING WHOOOO!!!!!! Krystle came over to the bed and told me to scoot over, so i did, then she layed down and curled up next to me, I said careful I stink like hospital, and she was like whatever. I was trying not to get too close, I didn't want my odor to be too offensive. The nurse walks in and sees us on the bed and was like "careful what you do in there, we have heart monitors, we know exactly what you be doing!" and we both gave her a look like WHAT!!??!?!! at that moment Krystle decided she didn't like the nurse. During this whole 2 hours I was tempted to sign myself out, i was hella ready to go. but i decided (with the help of my mom) to stay another night, it's probably for the best. Well Kat and Krystle get up to leave, Krystle kisses me on the cheek, gives me the stink eye and says, that's all you get buddy!

Another night goes by of tests, draws, and tests. Although I did get to watch Saturday Night Live, wich is a rare treat. I got to watch the Germans out German themselves. My nurse trys to kill me by giving me low blood sugar. Sunday rolls in. I'm expecting to go home late morning early afternoon, since that's what the doctor told me. so I'm excited, I take a semi shower which makes me feel incredible, I tidy up the room, by the way I'm walking around by myself, green flag number one, I'm ready to break out! Then of course I get the news I need to stay till around 4, something came up and I need to be there longer, fine whatever, at least I'll be able to go to Remix and then out with friends afterwards. It's about noon now, nothing is on TV except Nascar, so I watch it. My parents pop in for a while, then Karilee pops in to say hi, and we all sit around and talk for a while, then my dad leaves, then a little while later mom and Kari follow suit because they need to get back to church. While they are there though, something else comes up and I need to stay till 8:00 or so. Grr. I'm a little mad now! Although a few hours later, around 6:30 the nurse walks in, says, good news, you get to go home. It'll just take about an hour to get all the paperwork done.

YAY!!!! I call my mom, get on over here, I'm breaking out of here. So she says, ok, I'll be over in about 45 minutes. Hey whatever the nurse is going to take an hour, you'll still be early! So my mom gets there, I'm all dressed and ready to go, i've been disconnected from the IV machine, although the needle is still in my arm, but I'm able to be up and about. The paperwork is done, we get out, we go down to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription that is supposedly in the computer. We go down there and wait for about 30 minutes to no avail, the prescription still hasn't been checked. By now me and mom are HUNGRY and bitter so we say forget it, we'll be back tomorrow. So we leave and go off to Mimi's where everyone is doing their after church meal. I get a round of applause from everyone as I walk in, I bow and say thank you, thank you! We eat, I have a muffin and a salad and water with lime. and we all talk with everyone, and we all eat, drink, and be merry. finally it's time to go home. I go check my email, myspace, go pee, finally all the liquid they shoved into my veins wants to come out! Then I go to bed, and have a ver good night's sleep in my own comfy bed. But before going to sleep I call Krsytle who wasn't out joining us in the festivities, we have a meaningful discussion, and then I go to sleep.

Monday. I wake up at 8:00ish get ready for school, eat breakfast, go to school, take my midterm in accounting, come home. eat lunch, sit at the computer and type out all this as a testiment. Thank you to everyone who came to see me, it really meant alot. And sorry I put you all through this. It won't happen again. So anytime you see me eating something I should, just smack it out of my hand. Although I will want my treat everyonce in awhile, if you smack it up, I'll smack you up! But I'm going to try and be better about what I do and eat, and try to exercise more.

By the way, what I ended up having this weekend is called. DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) which is what happens when you get to many ketones in your blood. Here's what a ketone is.

Normally the body obtains the energy it needs from sugars (carbohydrates). A person may begin to break down fats and produce ketones because of:

High blood sugar levels and insufficient amounts of insulin, preventing the body from using sugar for energy, causing it to break down fat instead.
Fasting or starvation.
Prolonged vomiting.
A diet that is low in sugars and starches (carbohydrates).
Ketones are normally released into the urine. If ketone levels are very high or if the person is dehydrated, ketones may begin to build up in the blood. High blood levels of ketones may cause fruity-smelling breath, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, and fast, deep breathing. In severe cases, it may lead to coma and death. In a pregnant woman, even a moderate amount of ketones in her blood may harm the fetus.

Large amounts of ketones in the urine may signal diabetic ketoacidosis, a dangerous condition that is caused by very high blood sugar levels.

WHY NOT!!

Well, there’s really no reason to make a blog, I just thought WHY NOT!! I have nothing better to do on a Saturday early morning still night time should be in bed day. Life is great, just started a new quarter at CSUSB, just these 4 classes and another 3 in the fall and I will be done with my AA degree WHOOOO!! I can say I have a college degree, suck on that nukka!

I’m still working, well volunteering, in the Jr.High Dept. at church, little crazys I wanna kill them sometimes, but I love em’ to much to do something so hastely and irrational as all that!

Well, I was offered and now I’m thinking about being in Seussical, apparently they had some people drop out/never show up, so they would like me to be in it. I’m pondering...I’ll probably do it. I haven’t been in a play in a loong time, (well I’ve been in several church "productions" and recently I was booth crew for Polaroid Stories at CSUSB but anyways) so I’m excited to get back into that realm of living. Plus I like acting/singing/dancing, even if I look foolhardy!

Well, time to get off. I’M BLOODY TIRED!!!
