That's right everyone!! I'm leaving for a trip in a few days!! And I most likely will not be back until august 8th. I'm headed down past the 49th parallel all the way to Kentucky. I'm excited since I get to see my sweetpie schmoopy buttons for the first time in 6 months. And y'all know what that means!!!! I'm gonna get some!! Mwuahaha! FINALLY!!! Anyways.... . I'll probably be gone all weekend too because I'm headed up to the cabin and the lake. It's best since I havent been up there yet this year and I want to get in some wakeboarding and waterskiing before I go. I have a feeling I'm not going to get many chances to go up to the lake this year. I might get maybe 2 or 3 times more in this year after I get back in august. At least I hope so. This weekend should be fun though. The resort is going to be throwing a huge July 1st shindig. They always do and it can be pretty fun. We usually get into the boat and head out into the middle of the lake so we can watch them shoot off fireworks overhead. It's awesome. Last year I didnt get to go though . But this year I get to go to July 1st AND then I'll be in Kentucky for July 4th so really I get to go to two big celebratory days. That's pretty fun! Anywho, school is over for now and I'm happy. Broadway musicals suck ass. I shall never watch/listen to another one ever again. That is my most solemn vow.

Well, kiddies, I guess I will see you all when I get back. Have an excellent summer!!! I except stories when I get back and I of course will reciprocate. Ciao!

All and Nothing at all

Okay so I haven't posted a blog for a while so I suppose I should now. Yeah I'm taking 3 spring semester courses at once and let me give you some advice to all those thinking of doing the same sometime in the future....DON"T DO IT!!!...unless you get joke classes in which case it might be okay. I took this stupid Musical history and literature class on Broadway Musicals. Man, it sucks!! I didn't like musicals before I took the class and after taking the class I definitely don't like them anymore than I used to. It's just way too much work for a single class that's only an elective. Funny enough, my statistics class is much easier and I'm terrible at math.
Um what else?? Well 3 weeks until my trip! YAY! I'm so very excited. I bought a new tent (woot) and it is all pretty. I can't wait to use it. It's certainly purdy with the blue and the white and the rain fly and things. Now I just gotta get me some goot hiking/climbing boots that go past the ankle and have a lug. Walmart doesn't carry them  so I can't get them for cheap. That makes me sad! I have to go find some work gloves to wear too. Yes the cave climbing tour thingy is going to be awesome. I don't think we have picked a date for us to start on it but it's going to be fun. I'll have to try to find a camera or film that will let me take pictures in near darkness if that even exists.

Yeah, so I went to see Mozart's Zauberoper called the Magic Flute. I've been wanting to see this opera forever!! It's pretty much my favourite, mainly because of the Act 2's Queen of the Night's Aria. I was impressed by the woman who played the Quen of the Night actually. I mean she did it with a bit too much vibrato for my liking but overall she did well. I'm impressed with anyone who can sing that aria. She was pretty young too which is doubly impressive considering she was able to sing it. She actually hit those high F notes! Damn! Anywho, I had a lot of fun at the opera and I'm excited because Carmin is coming to town next season. I shall have to go to that indeed.

An Intellectual Blog

Okay so this is going to be a bit of a geeky blog entry but I find the topic completely interesting and stimulating for thought. I figure about 95% the people that read this will probably not totally understand where I am coming from or what  I am talking about so I guess before I start I will start with some basics. I pretty much want a little discussion on what people think even if its just an opinion and you don't really have any clear cut argument. If you have an opinion on this matter, great, voice it!

Okay so here are two theories that are out there. Both pretain to how much our thought is restricted by language. One of the theories called linguistic determinism, believes our thought is strongly determined by the world view which our language limits. If our language does not permit a certain framework of thought, then that thought will not be capable for any speaker of that language. A less extreme view, called linguistic relativity, believes language merely influences the thought of a person but it is completely possible to think outside their languages limitations.

So what do you guys think? It's sort of like the chicken and the egg situation. Does thought determine our language or does language determine how we think? No worries, I will contribute my opinion later on.

I am back damnit!!! But you know why? Because it gives me a damned excuse not to study!! or do my thesis papers!!! It's called procrastination and its a bad thing to do. So kiddies dont use me as a role model because you will fail in life. That's because you will see my procrastination and it will just be more exaggerated in you than in me so you will fail!!! FAIL!! I at least have self-control (yeah right). Um it took me about 48 hours of continuous work to transcribe this tape recording of this kid's speech. It nearly drove me nuts. Now I gotta analyse it all. It shall be fun. Exams are all over on the 23rd of April but I'm taking spring courses since I am insane and I go crazy if Im not in school.

I think I might have a problem.
