but today I lost a loved one and so this I had to share.

We never know what life can bring us, and I know he's in a better place. So why do I have so many tears now, and my heart beats like it's in a race.

I love my friends so dearly and none of us are really the same.  There are people out there in the world who don't even know my name.

But you who know me well here may realize the pain I feel,
and tho tears may come and go now my heart knows this pain is real.

There's butterflies in my stomach, and so many feelings I just can't hide....
I know he won't have to suffer now, but my dear friend's husband died.

So if you did take the time to read this, please take the time to pray,
Cause Stacy, her family and her friends need love & peace to come their way.

Jerry Kelley died this morning of cancer in his home with his wife Stacy at his side.  Stacy has a tough road ahead of her, and I wouldn't want to see her go through all of this alone.  She's young, beautiful, and someone very special to me.  She will do whatever she can for her friends whenever they need a helping hand....so please pray for Stacy today and let her know that she is loved.

Black Violin sweeps the stage in Salina KS

BLACK VIOLIN SWEEPS THE STAGE!!!

Despite the hot weather and the storms that passed through Salina KS this year, the 2008 Smoky Hill River festival seemed to be a huge success with the public.  Besides the variety of talented artists who demonstrated their marvelous creativity and displayed their wonderful art-work for sale, the food was good too.  There were fantastic activities for the children and it seemed to be a great family event this year.

   The entertainment line-up was excellent with a wide variety of music; however even with the Festival Jam and other special events, BLACK VIOLIN seemed to sweep the stage.  They say Music soothes the soul and allows you to lose control, but these two young musicians were absolutely phenomenal by letting the violin speak in it's own form! 

   BLACK VIOLIN got their name from an artist from the 60's named Stuff Smith who played some of the Best Jazz music for that time.  The two young violinists, Kevin Marcus and Wil B, have been friends since high school days.  They began playing Classical Music on the violin but they grew up during the great Hip hop, R&B, and Funk craze of today.  They take their standard form of classical music and blend it into a unique style of mesmerizing Hip-Hop that totally takes you to a new dimension of entertainment which leaves the audience captivated.

   These young artists have won the APOLLO MUSIC AWARDS three times in a row.  They have played with some of the TOP Recording Artists of today.  They are on an uphill climb entertaining both the young and old.  It's been said that they also play jazz, gospel, and other forms of music but they definitely have the amazing gift that puts a smile on the faces of the audience.  I noticed people in the audience dancing in their chairs, on the sidewalks, and in front of the stage!  They have a sound unlike anyone else.

    If you have not heard these fine musicians yet, you are missing out on some incredible music. They have released a new CD and sold out (over 500 copies) at the Smoky Hill River festival this year, alone.   They totally underestimated the interest they sparked in this area of Kansas.

DANNY TALLENT--NEW UPDATE!!!

Have you ever thought of what if would be like if we didn't have music to listen to?  Have you ever thought of what it would be like without the beat of the drums, or the  rhythum of the bass?  We need music to move our soul, let our spirits be uplifted to bring us that amazing smile.

Well, I'm still hoping there is a warm spirit left in your heart to continue to help DANNY TALLENT the young bass player who has been hospitalized since May 10, 2008 due to a terrible auto accident.  Danny is being moved today to Lincoln Nebraska Madona Hospital for further care and treatment.  It will make trips harder for friends and family members to visit and be there with Danny as they would like to be.  So please reach into your hearts, and say a prayer for Danny's speedy recovery, and that we can make a difference by helping with any fund raiser events.

Keep the music in your hearts, the melody in your soul, the kindness that friendship has to offer, and show you care.  Please continue to show your love and support for this young man.

Danny Tallent--Update

Here is the latest update posted by Danny's dad, Dave Tallent.  Danny Tallent has been in the hospital since the terrible automobile accident May 10, 2008.  I want to thank everyone for all your continued support, and prayers. 

There are more fund raiser events being planned to help (the families of) Danny and Ashley Tallent, so keep in touch if you would like to attend an event or show your support in other ways.  Remember that the Backlash Band and JD Nash & Red Circle will also have contribution areas posted at all their upcoming summer shows.  Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated by the families and friends.  People like you make America beautiful!

"Stormont-Vail has done about all they can for Danny. He is moving to Madona in Lincoln Monday morning. I think they will be another big step in getting Danny back. I know this will make it hard for a lot of his friends to visit, but I think this is the best we can do right now for him. He should be there about 30 days and then probably finish his recovery in Hiawatha. Thank you again for all your thoughts and support, it means a lot to his family and me to know how much all his friends care."

Another Scam Alert--Warning!!!

ANOTHER SCAM ALERT

This is a sad story about another scam alert.  One of my dearest family members who desperately needed some financial help with all of the bills still coming in found herself at the mercy of a con artist who unfortunately took them for $200.  I want to do my part in alerting everyone out there because it could happen to someone you love.

Beware of phone calls from 876 numbers {876-406-9419 and 876-565-5611} as these people are serious con artists who have a great scam going.  The family member began to receive several phone calls telling them that they won a Sweepstakes from GLOBAL MONEY MARKET of a rather large sum.  They told her that they were established near the Las Vegas Nevada area and that there was a confirmation package that was waiting to be shipped but needed the postage and insurance to be paid because it was coming by personal carrier and the gas prices were just too much for them to pay for without some reimbursement cost from the sweepstakes winner.

At first the man who called himself Mr. Erman Jones said he was about 48 years old and had been working for the organization for over 15 years making people very happy as they received their sweepstakes winnings from over $500,000 or more.  Mr. Jones asked questions about how often the family had the chance to take a vacation, what they needed to do to their home, how old they were, and so on.  He spoke of their children, grandchildren, etc. as well as what good parents they must have been to their own children etc.  He was a very smooth talker.  He finally got them convinced that if they send $200 to Mr. Wayne Palmer they would get the other $99 when the sweepstakes package confirmation arrived to their home from their own personal carrier.

Mr. Jones would call several times a day starting as early as 7am and as late as 11pm.  He would tell how he just went to church and was a Christian man.  He told them not to worry about a thing and he would cover the extra $99 if they just sent in the $200 because he had a hope that he just wanted to make people happy.  He told how much he loved his job and seeing the expressions on loved ones faces when they could finally afford to pay some of their bills or take their first real family vacation.  He would tell them, "I hope you sleep well tonight, the package will be there soon.  There's no need to worry about a thing."

He was so sneaky and sincere that I don't see how a person like that can live with no conscience bothering them from the dishonesty and deceitful shame after what they do to poor people!  The family member even went so far as to tell them that she had family in law enforcement and that she was told it was "just a scam" and "not to listen to him".  He convinced her neighbors and friends that everything was legitimate, honest, on the level and that the family would soon be on their way to gaining some great financial freedom and he was proud to be able to help them.  He said, "I love to be able to help people and that's why I have been with the sweepstakes firm for over 15 years."

As it also turns out, Mr. Wayne Palmer who receives the money resides in Manchester Jamaica.  He's probably a very wealthy man!!!  Mr. Jones also gave valid website addresses to make his story even more convincing!  Please beware of these numbers, these terrible people, and don't send any of them one single dime!!!  They need to be found, locked up, and punished for their severe crimes!!!  Please, pass this message to everyone you know.  If they want to play games, then I think they need to be exposed to the entire world for all the horrible promises and scams they are doing to people, especially the elderly, the weak, and the poor.

Help me warn others…..the sadness and guilt the family feels just by being sucked to something they really want to be able to believe in is the worst feeling, and when it pushes someone to almost have a serious stroke; then it's beyond time to fight back!!!
