9:58 AM - CANCELLED
My performance at Geronimo Music Festival in Lafayette is cancelled because the people running it seemd too shady. Also Emma & Keith are getting married that day and I'm pretty sure she would beat me up if I missed it.
The show at Bisbano's on June 13 is still on! Watch out Lafayette, ya'll gon shit y'selves!

11:24 AM - WORST SHOW EVER

Highlights from saturday's M.I.A. show...
8:00 pm · "Will Call" employees insist that all comp tickets are for one admittance only (instead of +1 as promised). Half of our group starts freaking out. Two hours and multiple phone calls later, Sarah Lacy finally manages to get everyone in.
10:00 pm · Outside food and drink prohibited and strictly enforced. I chug a 1 liter bottle of water in front of a security guard.
10:05 pm · It turns out the "venue" is actually the SDT Waste Disposal truck parking garage. There are inch-deep puddles of gooey water all over the place and the air is thick with the smell of industrial antisceptic.
10:30 pm · Beverage choices: $9 Red Bull & Vodka or $5 Bud Light. I go with the expensive one and leave a big tip.
10:45 pm · Wait in line for 30 minutes to get a free t-shirt. The ink isn't quite dry on mine and it smudges.
11:15 pm · My large tip is rewarded when I manage to talk the bartender into filling a cup with vodka & ice for $5.
12:30 am · DJ Questlove's opening act is very disappointing. I think he loaded his laptop with Top 40 hits and put it on random.
3:00 am · After waiting for 8 hours, M.I.A. takes the stage and plays for 45 minutes.
4:00 am · At least my tickets were free.

This guy who knows Frey was at the Circle Bar show last month and put together this little montage of the performance. The editing is actually quite good-a nice change of pace for YouTube.
The video includes a verse from the unreleased track "Meet Murdaphace," which will be featured on this year's WTUL "Rock On Survival Marathon" compilation CD as well as the new Arajay EP due out some day soon.

First, check out this video that my boss' daughter found when searching for me on YouTube. I had nothing to do with its production, and yet there it is: junior high kids dancing to Arajay.
Second, I'm excited to say I've just been tapped for WTUL's next compilation CD, distributed annually in association with its membership drive. I am honored.

Voted to be on a college radio compilation CD...
It is as if all of my mediocre dreams are coming true. And I owe it all to you (and Doomsday Device). I know I say it a lot, but that shouldn't diminish its meaning:
