I haven't had a chance to read the first book in this series. Hopefully I will get a chance to before I buy this book. While reading the previews for the first book, it seemed different from her vampire huntress story that I decided to try Ms. Banks again. I did not care for her huntress stories, too much street slang.

Ms. Gryphon's first book in this series got a lot of flack from different readers as being unbelievable and childish. Yeah, the main character had a chip on her shoulder but she was still likable and the other characters were diverse and complex. This is the third book in the series, and the second one is in my TBR pile.

Well, I was going to read the 2nd and 3rd books in the Anna Windsor Dark Crescent Sisterhood series but I made a mistake. My mistake was in taking those two books with me on my vacation and leaving them in my hotel room. I understand that stuff winds up missing out of hotel rooms everyday, all the time. However, we the hotel staff takes it upon themselves to rummage through a closet into a piece of luggage that is closed up to find things to steal. That's when it goes too far. But the even worst part of the whole episode, the security for the hotel was drunk and didn't want to file a report because it did not happen on his shift. So, if you happen to stop in Atlanta downtown and want to stay at the Wyndham Garden hotel off of Piedmont Ave. NE. Don't do it, go to another hotel.
I will stop ranting now, and wish everyone a great Labor Day and hope that everyone is stuffed with BBQ and beer.

I cannot begin to tell you how aggravating it is to read a line, then have to re-read it to understand what the author is trying to say. If you are having the same problem as I, please let me know.

All of you are servants of Satan, and have been targeted by a group of Satan hating men who wish to destroy you. Get the picture? This was an interesting take on the ideal of the succubus legend brought to life in modern day terms. I am curious to see where the author decides to take this series because she left us hanging at the end. At the bottom of this post, I will include the sequel to this book.
Megan promises listeners to her new radio call-in show that she'll "slay their personal demons," and they believe her. So do the personal demons... although she doesn't know it, Megan is the only human without a demon on her shoulder! Megan and her allies - a demon lover who both protects and seduces her with devilish intensity, a witch with poor social skills, and three cockney guard demons - have to deal not only with the personal demons, but a soul-sucker, ghosts of Megan's past, and a reporter who threatens to destroy Megan's career!
Now, Megan is a psychic who has a practice where she helps her patients confront and overcome their fears. She is presented with an opportunity to have a radio show that promises her listeners that she will slay their demons. Well, you can imagine how the demon world feels about this. So, you have a family (think the Mafia, only more demonic) who send a representative to Megan to convince her to work for them and not to accept other offers. And you have an entity who is after Megan for reasons of his own. Trust me, Megan doesn't want to know why he wants her. At first, I wanted to slap Megan around for being hostile and antisocial when her life is in danger from zombies and attacking demons. Not to mention, an associate who is being manipulated to hurt her and this chick just doesn't get the picture. I would recommend this book because its a entertaining read and the author encourages the other characters to show their stuff. This one gets 4.5 stars.
Next on the TBR pile; Half Moon Rising by Margo Lukas. Werewolves, don't you know.

Please forgive the lack of postings here lately. Between myspace mistakes, the fourth of July, and life in general my world has been in chaos. For those who are still waiting on the outcome of the poll for the next series of books you would like to see me read and post reviews, I apologize. I did however read several print and ebooks, put none of the ones listed on my blog. Here is a sample of what I have been reading:
As the carrier of a rare gene, Sirantha Jax has the ability to jump ships through grimspace-a talent which makes her a highly prized navigator for the Corp. Then a crash landing kills everyone on board, leaving Jax in a jail cell with no memory of the crash. But her fun's not over. A group of rogue fighters frees her...for a price: her help in overthrowing the established order.
For someone who likes a mainly Science Fiction storyline, this is your book. It had enough techno babble for the geeks out there, but for you romantics this is not the book for you. Don't get me wrong, there is a love affair between Jax and her pilot, but the author does not go into flowery prose about it. Plus, Jax is coming off from her previous lover being killed in the accident that the company she works for is trying to place the blame on her. Overall, I give this book 4.0 stars.
