Current mood: hopeful
Category: News and Politics
Dear Fans,
We wanted to take the time to tell you, or at least those of you who live in the United States, to register to vote today if you have not already. One of the most important things we can do as citizens is stay informed of politics and issues going on around the world and close to home, and supporting elected officials who most closely match our vision. Of course, we support peace in the world, care for the environment, abortion rights, and universal health care, amongst other things, so we have a pretty good idea of who we are going to vote for in this election.
To register to vote go to Rock The Vote or MoveOn.org.
For news, we highly recommend WNYC's election coverage, especially Brian Lehrer's 30 Issues in 30 Days
And don't forget - politics doesn't stop with voting. Even if you are under 18 or not a citizen you can still take the time to write or call your elected officials and let them know how you feel about specific topics. Everything you do to stay involved with your world keeps you in control.
Love, Annie, Erika and Heather

YOUNG TURKS
We had a fun time recording a cover of Rod Stewart's "Young Turks" with Sisko of Disco Pusher. We just put the finishing touches on it and now have to stop writing this sentence because we need to get up and dance. check it out here.

hang a crystal in your window.
Our song, The Lucky One, is featured in a film competition hosted by Tank Magazine & Swarovski Crystal. The theme is the Three Graces: Radiance, Joy and Abundance. If you would like to submit a film or view the sample film by Ami Sioux which uses our song please visit: www.tankthreegracesfilms.com Also, if you would like to hang a crystal in your window to make a few rainbows in the afternoon light, I highly recommend it! You can always find old chandelier crystals at flea markets or junk shops.
Annie & I went to LA a few weekends ago. We swam in a big pool painted by David Hockney, ate avocados and jicama with lime, played piano for our friends at an awesome piano-lounge-speakeasy with floral upholstered furniture, and sang Donna Summer songs in Macarthur Park. We got to fly on the relatively new virgin america airlines which was pretty fantastic. Heather couldn't come. She went to the ballet with her mom instead. We missed her, but tried not to get sad about it while soaking up the sun.
Thats all for now! xx Erika

May Days
Hello Everyone! & Happy Summer!
We've been hard at work here in Brooklyn writing new songs for our next record. After being on the road, it's really nice to get together and write music. We enjoyed a picnic in the park last week and got to practice some of the new songs in the open air. We're looking forward to sharing them with you when we come out of the studio later this year.
We wanted to let you know that we recently performed on the nationally syndicated radio program etown. It's a great show with diverse musical guests performing live in front of an audience and it's all centered around community, social responsibility and environmentalism, plus, the show's hosts and creators are Erika's dad and step-mom. Starting this week, the show featuring Au Revoir Simone will be broadcast across the country on 240 stations. To find out more about the show and where you can listen visit www.etown.org The show will also be available worldwide as a podcast starting June 10th.
We're also pretty excited to have been featured in the New York Times Magazine this week with some other all-women bands, including our friends in Electrelane.
Have a wonderful day! Love from Brooklyn! Annie, Heather & Erika
