WrestleRace 7.0 Results

Things were hot in Indianapolis as a sold-out ringside witnessed what could very well be what the future holds for the AWA. Vice-President Jonnie Stewart officially announced that he was personally taking over management of the American Wrestling Association and denounced the Presidency of AWA Board of Director's and AWA / CWF Mid-Atlantic promoter Danny Wenkel. He further stated to the live audience that he had "people in high places" that would replace Danny Wenkel as not only the President of the AWA but also as the Chairman of the AWA Board of Directors. Convenient for the power hungry Stewart, was Danny Wenkel's absence at WRESTLERACE, something Stewart was well aware of when making his claims. Also obvious by his absence, was former President Dale Gagne. Although he was replaced by Danny Wenkel in March, wrestling fans have speculated that Gagne would return in "storyline fashion" at WRESTLERACE 7.0. Stewart wouldn't comment on Gagne's whereabouts when asked or even if Gagne will ever be seen again in the AWA. He did however reassure inquisitive fans that Gagne didn't blow up in a limousine and was very much still alive.

Confident in his new-found, self-appointed power of authority, Stewart started off WRESTLERACE 7.0, by introducing the AWA World Tag-Team Champions, "The New Generation Dynasty" Ric Converse and Xsiris. He then immediately stated, "Oh yeah, they won't be here because I've fired them". Stewart claimed to the shocked fans in attendance that he had fired the AWA / CWF mainstays and World Champions due to their "unprofessional conduct", never explaining exactly what that meant. Reasoning as the previous holders of the AWA World Tag-Team Championship and under continued protest by Steve Corino, Stewart awarded the championship back to the "Old School Blondes". Can he do that? Unfortunately, history will reveal that he did.

Indianapolis' Own Dick "The Bruiser" Junior with Bruiser Dog pinned Salvatore Sincere

AWA Power Pro Wrestling's Dick Foley beat AWA Brew City Wrestling's Dinn T. Moore with his version of the mandible claw.

Beauty vs. The Geek:
Dexter Poindexter pinned "The Picture of Perfection" Noah Lott to win the girl!

AWA Brew City Wrestling's and Harley Race trainee Katie Syren pinned Josie.

"Krazy K" Kirby Mack kept his winning ways to retain the AWA World Light Heavyweight Championship against Sharkboy and Zach Gowen in a triple threat match ordered by Jonnie Stewart (first it was Gagne, now it's Stewart - can the "Krazy" one catch a break?)

Marcus Alexander "Buff" Bagwell & The Patriot reunited as STARS & STRIPES beating the newly claimed AWA World Tag-Team Champions VP Jonnie Stewart and "The Trademark of Excellence" Ricky Landell and were awarded new title belts.

SHAKEUP IN THE AWA!

AWASTARS.com has just learned from confidential sources, that it has been rumored a major SHAKEUP is about to take place in the AWA. Under the surface of brewing tension from within, results from WRESTLERACE 7.0 in Indianapolis at the Speedrome, could very well have a lasting effect on the future of the American Wrestling Association. Here's our take on the scheduled matches from Indiana:

The Dynasty vs. Stars and Stripes –
The Dynasty's AWA Tag Titles are on the Line!
The life of a tag team champion is not an easy one. On June 16th , champions Ric Converse and Xsiris, collectively known as "The Dynasty," will be forced test their stuff against three other teams in "Absolute Justice" in Burlington, North Carolina. But three days – just 72 hours – before the so-called "Four-Way Stakes Match," The Dynasty will have to put their AWA Tag Teams on the ling against the newly reformed Stars and Stripes. The Stripes are coming to Wrestlerace with an impressive resume. Buff Bagwell – former WCW star and four-time WCW World Tag Team Champion. The Patriot – two-time AWA World Heavyweight Champion and one time WCW Tag Champion with none other than Buff "The Stuff" himself. Still, Xsiris and Slick Diddy have one thing that The Stripes lack – youth. If life is a three act play, the Dynasty is barely at the end of act one! Also keep in mind that they know each other. Each knows how the other thinks. Each knows how the other will react. The newly reformed Stripes don't have that luxury. Will the looming shadow of the "Absolute Justice" event cause the Dynasty to lose it all, or will their youth and talent prevail?

World-1 Heavyweight Champion Ricky Landell vs. Zach Gowen
He has won over fans in the northeast. He has wowed them in the south. He has played to packed houses in California. He has even been on tour with Zero-One MAX in Japan. And now the current reigning World-1 Heavyweight champion, the "New Generation Ace" Ricky Landell, will face what could perhaps be his toughest opponent yet in "The One-Legged Wonder" Zach Gowen. A star of both television and pay-per-view, the former "Tenacious Z" has been intensely preparing for this match up. The World-1 title is more is more than just an ordinary title belt. It is a status symbol; the key to the best that the AWA has to offer. And by beating Landell "1-2-3" in the ring, Zach Gowen hopes get the main event status that he has been dreaming of for so long. But don't think for a second that Ricky Landell is just going to give up his "key to the executive washroom." Oh no. Gowen will have to beat it off of him and believe me, the "New Generation Ace" will not make things easy for him.

AWA Light Heavyweight Champion Kirby Mack vs. TNA's Shark Boy
In the twenty-six plus year history of the Light Heavyweight title, AWA fans have not seen a performer as innovative as "Krazy K" Kirby Mack. No matter what the obstacle before him is, Krazy K always manages shock the crowds and stun his opponents with aerial and gymnastic wizardry. So of course, an unorthodox talent deserves an equally unorthodox challenger. Enter Shark Boy. From the "Deep Blue Sea" to the confines of Universal Studios' "Sound Stage 23," this downright bizarre individual has proven he has what it takes to be AWA Light Heavyweight Champion. Will Kirby Mack be able to contain this terror of "Benchley-esque" proportions, or will the Shark be able to bite his wings off and successfully take the title back with him to Orlando?

Dexter Poindexter vs. Noah Lott –
First Ever "Beauty and the Geek" Match!
He has the looks, the charm, the grace, the charisma. In many ways, Noah Lott is the very "Definition of Greatness;" a true legend in his own mind, if you will. Dexter Poindexter... well... not so much. Still, Dexter has one thing that Noah Lott will never have: glasses. Oh... and humility. And our hero, the lovable geek Dexter Poindexter, has taken it upon himself to school Lott on humility. His teaching method? None other than the first ever "Beauty and the Geek" match! Will "The Geek" be able to prove that nice guys do indeed finish first, or will Noah come out on top yet again?

Katie Syren vs. Josie
On the surface, it appears that we have two young, talented women, both eager to take the next steps in their respective careers. But each woman sports a wild card. On Syren's end, it's her boyfriend and his oft-rumored "business partner" - former AWA-BCW Heavyweight champion Dinn T. Moore and Dale Gagne. Josie, on the other hand, has been scouted by the WWE. Is Stamford using her to infiltrate both Gagne and the AWA? Is this the first true shot in the war, or will Moore and Gagne use Syren's potential victory as leverage in their quest to get the AWA-BCW title back?

Johnnie Stewart vs. Dick Foley
Johnnie Stewart has certainly been through a lot. In three short months, he lost the Tag Team titles with Ricky Landell, watched his "favorite executive" Dale Gagne get booted out of office, and now has to face "Mick Foley's little brother," the maniac known to some as Dick Foley. Can things get any worse?

Indianapolis' own Dick the Bruiser Jr. vs. Salvatore Sincere
Indianapolis' own Dick the Bruiser Jr. will definitely have his hands full against Salvatore Sincere. A former ECW Tag Team champion and IWA Mid-South Heavyweight champion, Sincere knows a thing or three about championship wrestling... and using weapons when needed. Will the crowd support alone be enough to help Dick the Bruiser Jr. overcome Sincere's patented offense?

History will be made in Indianapolis tonight at the Speedrome!  Don't miss out on this huge event!
