The Dead Matter
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
Zombies!
Being friends with Ed & Gavin from Midnight Syndicate is not only an honor but it has it's perks as well. We met back in the day, just prior to releasing their Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Soundtrack, becase contacted Ed for legal assistance. I was already familar with their work and own every album, but it was through their licensing experience with Wizards of the Coast that I contacted them for tips and pointed on how to go about pursuing similar musical endeavors. Within a year I released the CyberNet Official Roleplaying Soundtrack (May 11, 2004).
I tell you all this to show that I've known Ed Douglas for some time now... and over those years we've always discussed a possible music collaboration. While that collaboration has not yet panned out, Ed did invite me to have a small role in his upcoming film The Dead Matter.
On Monday, August 20th I arrived at the Mansfield Reformatory for my 5:00pm call time. I got into costume. I met and hung out with other Extras on the set. I watched them film some indoor scenes featuring Andrew Divnoff and I awaited my scenes. Then the rain came. And the thunder and lightning. At at 3am the night was called and my scenes weren't shot. Devastated and tired, I returned home to Grove City. Mother nature dissed my opportunity of being in a movie!
For the record, the storms that began late that Monday night ravaged much of Richland Co. and there are reports of 6 foot high flooding in some parts which goes to show that it was quite justified to call the shoot for the night.
Then the email from Ed's wife came inviting me to a re-shoot. Long story short, on Monday August 27th I returned to the Mansfield Reformatory to shoot my scenes. I have a dual role in the film as both a Villager and then a fresh-killed Zombie. When the film (which wraps up filming this weekend) finally makes it into distribution (2008), look for me running across the screen being chased by zombies... and then look for me later in the film as a zombie as all the undead attempt to attack the heroes before we all fall to the powers of the unknown...
Many thanks to Ed and the production teams at The Dead Matter LLC/Midnight Syndicate Films and Precinct 13 Entertainment. And thanks too to all the great people I met on the set... I consider you all friends in this crazy industry we're all now part of!

Cancelling some shows...
Current mood: melancholy
Category: Music
It's Friday the 13th! Time for another blog post, especially since I've changed my Shows calendar.
As of today, I will not be appearing / selling CDs / signing autographs at the following shows: Akron-Canton Comic Con (07/15), Buckeye Cafe Comic Con (07/22), Twisted Nightmare Weekend (August). I have cancelled my participation in these events for various reasons so let the speculations begin and have a frightful Friday!

"The World Needs You Now"
Current mood: accomplished
Category: Music
Hello true believers!
I just uploaded a low-fi copy of my latest song, "The World Needs You Now", inspired by the ads and 5-page preview of Devil's Due Publishing's new series DRAFTED.
You don't have to be registered with ACIDPlanet.com to Play the song. You do need to register to leave comments there... but comments are always welcome here. :)
Keep this in mind while listening: (from my production notes...) it starts sort of dark/ambient as the alien presence is first encountered, quickly followed by the enlistment and advancement of the human military regime (hence the cadence). I was thinking that, just like in Starship Troopers and/or Halo, the military recruits are full of bravado and gung-ho about serving in the World Army... ready to do their part and kick alien butt. Then the song cuts again to a more alien feel blended to a more confrontation/action sequence to finish it off.
A Play a Day gets registered per IP and the more plays I get, the more likely the song will rank high in the genre pool meaning more people will listen and more attention drawn to the song and hopefully the comic book/DDP. Thanks for listening!

Deterioration Furthers - Music From & Inspired by The Charnel Gospel
Current mood: energetic
Category: Music
What do you get when you have a film score but not a completed movie? In our case, a success!
On May 4, 2004, Bailey Records released Deterioration Furthers – Music From and Inspired by The Charnel Gospel. The soundtrack features original music co-written by Bryan "Stratos" Borgman and TW Cory (aka Capt. Futura). Half the album is ambient music written specifically for the independent horror film, The Charnel Gospel, based on the screenplay by writer/producer T. Mowery. The remainder of the tracks on the CD are club and dance remixes created to give the consumer more bang for their buck. Three-quarters of the way into the production of the soundtrack it became evident that The Charnel Gospel was not going to release on time, however Bailey Records had already begun promoting the CD so we decided to follow through with its release as planned.
Fast-forward to the album's third anniversary and while The Charnel Gospel is still lost in some Cthulhu-powered limbo, Deterioration Furthers – Music From and Inspired by The Charnel Gospel has been sold out since August 2006 – selling our last copies at Twisted Nightmare Weekend.
So why bring up a sold-out album? Not only are we extremely proud of that project but we want to remind our loyal fans that every song and remix from the sold-out CD are available as downloads at RPGNow.com.

To purchase the original 7 tracks written for The Charnel Gospel for just $5.00, Click Here.

To purchase the 10 remixes tracks based on the original ambient film score for just $4.00, Click Here.
* Please note that you must register and create an account with RPGNow.com before purchase. Registration is free. And once you're registered, be sure to check out all our downloads in our official storefront by Clicking Here.

New CDs are here!
Current mood: chipper
Category: Music
Both of my new CDs -- The Chronicles of Ramlar - Official Soundtrack and Mecha Vs Kaiju - The Soundtrack -- arrived safely yesterday from the manufacturers (Disc Makers) and they look and sound great! I've already mailed off copies to both publishers and to CDBaby.com for distribution so hopefully all of that will be taken care of over the next week or so. In the meantime I'm taking them to Lexington, KY and Akron, OH with me this weekend. I'll be at UKon in Lexington on Friday night and most of Saturday and then at the Akron-Canton Comic Con on Sunday. CDs are $10.00 each. I'm running some insane deals on them too (like buy a new title for $10.00 and get a back-stock title for only $1!!).
Just wanted to let you know the CDs are finally and officially finished and that they're ready for your purchase! Hope to see a lot of you somewhere this weekend or very soon!
Take care friends! And thank you, Stratos
