Baby Girl...All Grownup !!!
Current mood: sad
Category: Writing and Poetry

Today My Baby Girl Turns 18.All Grownup Now,And Her Childhood Seems A Dream. Why Just The Other Day,She Asked Me To Go To The Fall Festival With Her.She Was In The 4th Grade. And It Was Only A Little While Ago,That I Used To Hold Her In My Arms,And Rock Her To Sleep. She Was Always Daddy's Girl.People Used To Call Her Sam Jr.,Cause She Was Always With Me.I Am So Proud Of Her,Cause She Has Turned Into A Beautiful Young Lady,With High Morals,And A Very Strong Christian Belife. She Has Backbone And Will Stand Her Ground,And Never Turn And Run.She Is A Proud American,And A True Southern Bell,Always Paying Tribute To The Confederate Flag,And The Old South.Holding To A Way Of Life,That Should Still Be.People Say She Is A Carbon Copy Of Me,That Being True. The Old South Lives On.I'm Very Happy For Her,But I Am Sad For Me.She Is All Grownup Now...And A Little Girl No More......

Happy Birthday Jessica...You Have Been A Blessing To Me.

" Our Love Was 20/20 "

(1st Verse)
I reached for you last night,
And my arms grasped thin air,
I opened my eyes,
And found you not there,
Eyes that were dry,
Flowed like a stream,
When I opened my eyes,
And found it not a dream,

(Chorus)
Our love was 20/20,
But without you I can't see,
For in my greatest vision,
You were always here with me,
Is there a doctor,
Who can make it like it used to be,
Our love was 20/20,
But without you I can't see,

(2nd Verse)
I guess there is a doctor,
But what's the use of going on,
For I know without you,
I would have to go alone,
I recall the memories,
And how it used to be,
Our love was 20/20,
But without you I can't see,

(Ending Chorus)
Our love was 20/20,
But without you I can't see,
For in my greatest vision,
You were always here with me,
Is there a doctor,
Who can make it like it used to be,
Our love was 20/20,
But without you I can't see,

" It Must've Been The Beer Talkin "
Current mood: content

" It Must've Been The Beer Talkin "

(1st verse)
In an east Texas bar-room,
I sat drinkin my beer,
Listenin to music and watching,
As people came in here,
When in walked a lady,
Who had coal black hair,
She walked across the room,
And sat down at a table over there,
I bought another beer,
I think that it was three,
As I tried to remember,
I saw that girl lookin at me,
I thought i'd walk on over,
To see if she wanted to dance,
When I looked back toward her,
She was with another man,

(chorus)
It must've been the beer talkin,
But it made me believe,
That this young lady,
Was comin on to me,
But it seems I was mistaken,
Yeah I was so wrong,
It must've been the beer talkin,
Cause now she is gone,

(2nd verse)
well i ordered another beer,
and thought thats just my luck,
the waitress brought my beer,
and said that will be a buck,
well i pulled out my money,
and looked upto the prettiest eyes,
she smiled down at me,
and said i get off at five,
so if you want to go dancing,
then cowboy just wait right here,
and i raised my bottle to her,
in a jesture of cheer,
and as she walked away,
she kept glancing back at me,
is it the beer talking now,
cause its so hard to belive,

(ending chorus)
It must've been the beer talkin,
But it made me believe,
That this young lady,
Was comin on to me,
But it seems I was mistaken,
Yeah I was so wrong,
It must've been the beer talkin,
Cause now she is gone,

" Your Words Cut Me To The Bone "

(1st verse)
I fought for a year in Vietnam,
And I came home without a scratch,
Totalled my car in 1982,
And I walked away from that,
Been in a few bar-room brawls,
And I lost a tooth or two,
But the greatest pain I've ever felt,
Was the hurt I got from you,

(Chorus)
Your words cut be to the bone,
As though they were a knife,
The pain I'll always remember,
For the rest of my life,
My world's falling apart,
Though I'm trying to be strong,
The words that you said girl,
They cut me to the bone,

(2nd verse)
I laid a Harley down in 1972,
While riding with my friends,
Was in a hospital 6 long weeks,
But that didn't stop my riding,
Then there was a fight in Mexico,
Where I got cut with a switch-blade knife,
But it was losing you girl,
That just about cost me my life,

(ending chorus)
Your words cut be to the bone,
As though they were a knife,
The pain I'll always remember,
For the rest of my life,
My world's falling apart,
Though I'm trying to be strong,
The words that you said girl,
They cut me to the bone,

" Ten Years From Now " My Newest Song !!!
Current mood: content

" Ten Years From Now "

(verse 1)

i watch the news of the fight in irac,
and oil is at an all time high,
familys and i'm one of them,
are having hell just getting by,
and our industries are closing down,
and all being moved over seas,
through it all there is a question,
that keeps on haunting me,

(chourse)

ten years from now,
will old glory still fly.....,
will the statue of liberty,
still hold her torch high.....,
will America still exist.....,
as the land of the free,
ten years from now.....,
will you ever think of me,

(verse 2)

seems there are more forclosers,
and jobs just can't be found,
and there are so many schools,
who have taken old glory down,
and there are thousands of homeless,
that live out on our streets,
but this same question,
keeps coming back to me,

(chourse)

ten years from now,
will old glory still fly.....,
will the statue of liberty,
still hold her torch high.....,
will America still exist.....,
as the land of the free,
ten years from now.....,
will you ever think of me,

" Chattanooga,Tennessee "

(1 verse)
i went to a party,
in chattanooga,tennessee,
it was thrown by a singer,
who was a good friend to me,
so i loaded my truck,
and the family got in,
and we went to that party,
at a thing called Riverbend,

(chourse)
the first thing he played,
was an old drinking song,
and by the second verse,
the crowd sang along,
then he sang a song,
about a love so sweet,
as the crowd began to dance,
in Chattanooga,Tennessee,
In Chattanooga,Tennessee....

(2nd verse)
then he sang one for his moma,
and it brought tears to my eyes,
then he sang of a special love,
that he had finaly relized,
then he sang of the average man,
and the homeless on the streets,
it was a beautiful party,
in chattanooga,tennessee,

(chourse)
the first thing he played,
was an old drinking song,
and by the second verse,
the crowd sang along,
then he sang a song,
about a love so sweet,
as the crowd began to dance,
in Chattanooga,Tennessee,
In Chattanooga,Tennessee....

Current mood: creative

" Honkytonk Heaven "

( 1st verse )
he breaks his back  at the lumberyard,
in the hot sun each and every day,
its not the greatest job in the world,
but it makes a paycheck anyway,
for you see he lives for fridays,
just a little after quitin time,
when he will be at the Honkytonk,
drinking beer and spending his dimes,

(chourse )
he is searching for Honkytonk Heaven,
and the jukebox takes him there,
as he plays songs by Hank Williams,
its just like Hank was  right there,
he plays Walking After Midnight by Patsy,
and Johnny sang I Walk The Line,
yea he's searching for Honkytonk Heaven,
and it seems he found it this time,

( 2nd verse )
then to soon again it is monday,
and he hits the clock one more time,
to sweat beneath that hot sun,
just to make an honest dime,
but he dreams of the weekend he had,
and the paradise that he found there,
come friday he will be in Honkytonk Heaven,
litening to the jukebox there,

(chourse )
he is searching for Honkytonk Heaven,
and the jukebox takes him there,
as he plays songs by Hank Williams,
its just like Hank was  right there,
he plays Walking After Midnight by Patsy,
and Johnny sang I Walk The Line,
yea he's searching for Honkytonk Heaven,

" Do You Ever Think Of Me "

(1 verse )
well the picture that you bought,
it still decorates the hall,
and the flowers that you planted,
they still line the walk,
and theres the swing you had me put,
in  the backyard in that old oak tree,
can you tell me on this day ....
do you ever think of me.....

(chourse )
do you ever think of me...
and wonder how it might have been,
if we had of stayed together,
if we had not let it end,
i know that you are merried,
and got children now i see,
but i was just wondering,
do you ever think of me,

(2 verse )
i look at the date on this day,
and drift to another place and time ,
as the memories flood back to me,
i wonder do i ever cross your mind,
to myself i can't help but wonder,
just how our lives might be,
if we were still together....
do you ever think of me.....

(chourse )
do you ever think of me...
and wonder how it might have been,
if we had of stayed together,
if we had not let it end,
i know that you are merried,
and got children now i see,
but i was just wondering,
do you ever think of me,

" Love And NASCAR "

(verse 1)
Well You Know I Love NASCAR,
I Love To Hear Them Engines Roar,
I Met A Little Girl The Other Night,
That I Wanted To Know A Little More,
So I Asked Her To The Races,
And She Readily Agreed,
Ever Sense That First Date,
Its Been This Girl And Me,

(chourse)
Now Its Me And The Missus And NASCAR,
And Two Future Drivers Crawling On The Floor,
Seting At Home Watching The Races,
In The Spring There Will Be One More,
Hey Honey Get Me A Cold One,
And Come On And Set With Me,
Holding Hands And Kissing,
Just Like It Used To Be,

(verse 2)
Cause We Both Love NASCAR,
You Could Say We Are Realy Fans,
We Wear Our Drivers T-Shirts,
And We Are Always Holding Hands,
Each Lap Was Bringing Us Closer,
It Went From Talking To Kissing,
And By The Time The Season Was Over,
This Girl Was Wearing My Ring,

(chourse)
Now Its Me And The Missus And NASCAR,
And Two Future Drivers Crawling On The Floor,
Seting At Home Watching The Races,
In The Spring There Will Be One More,
Hey Honey Get Me A Cold One,
And Come On And Set With Me,
Holding Hands And Kissing,
Just Like It Used To Be,

My Newest Poem" The Legend Of The Confederate Rose "
Current mood: creative
Category: Writing and Poetry

" The Legend Of The Confederate Rose "

Upon The Field Of Battle,
In A Place Called  Gettysburg,
The North And South Fought,
From July 1st Until The 3rd,
So Many Lives Were Given,
For What Each Side Belived,
And Fields That Were Green,
You Could No Longer See,
For The Blood  FlowThat Day,
Had Turned The Land Red,
And From the Ground A Flower Grew,
To Rise Among The Dead,
And God Said To The Flower,
A Blossum Of Three Colors You Will Wear
SoThat None Will Ever Forget,
All Of The Lives Given Here,
In The Morning You Will Be White,
To Represent The Confederices Birth,
A Soverign People Of The South,
None Prouder On This Earth,
By Noon You Will Be Pink,
To Repesent Their Stand,
Against A Mighty Foe,
That Came Against Their Land,
Befor Dark You Will Turn Red,
For All The World To See,
The Birth,The Life,The Death,
Of The Confederacy.....
