Thanks for putting us on the big screen, Mel!
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
We at the Barricade camp wanted to give a very special shout-out to Mel House - a good friend of ours, fellow horror filmmaker, and all-around awesome guy.
Mel set up the first theatrical screening of Barricade, which debuted at the Studio Movie Grill in Houston, Texas last night. Before it screened, they showed trailers for other indie horror flicks, including Mel's own Closet Space, Marcus Koch's 100 Tears, and Stacy Davidson's Domain of the Damned (a.k.a. Necrophobia). Although none of our crew could attend, Mel made it a great free event for Texas horror fans - giving them a taste of what we've done and spreading the bloody word about Barricade!
Mel also informed us that one of the viewers told him it was "the grossest thing they'd ever seen", which, of course, put smiles on all of our faces.
Again, thank you very much, Mel. We wish we could have been there - and we look forward to seeing you again at another convention. You Texans sure know how to make movies.
Many, many thanks, ~ the BARRICADE crew

Add our new movies! We're a mighty busy bunch!!!
Current mood: busy
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
All right, Barricade fans! You bought the DVD, you met us at Weekend of Horrors, you've sent us dead rats in the mail... what else can you do to show your love?! Well, this is a damn good start.
The cast and crew of Barricade are busy as Hell these days. If you'd like to support our continuing work, please add the following three films - all of which involve... us!
DARKNESS SURROUNDS ROBERTA is an ultra-stylish murder mystery, which begins filming in Italy next week! Think of all those sleazy 70's films you loved, then crank up the sex and gore to a "10"!!! This film stars our very own Raine Brown and Joe Zaso - and features a ton of ultra-gory effects by Barricade's director, Timo Rose! Look for Timo in an extremely perverse cameo, as well.
FEARMAKERS is the new film from writer/director director Timo Rose. If you're a fan of Japanese ghost stories, then you're gonna love where this flick goes with their visuals. Its got ghouls, haunted houses, murder mysteries, and tons of icky, sticky gore. Its being produced by our own Ted Geoghegan and also stars Timo in a pivotal role. It begins filming in May. More casting news will be popping up about it very soon!
And finally, don't forget about 100 TEARS. If you thought Barricade was the nastiest thing you'd ever seen... you're not gonna want to miss this. It stars our lovely Raine Brown and, as she put it, "I never thought anything could be grosser than Barricade." It was also produced by - and features a cameo death scene of - our producer Ted Geoghegan! You won't want to miss this flick.
Add all three, leave them all comments, and then let us know about it. If you don't already own one... or if you want a second copy, we'll enter you in a contest for a free Barricade DVD.
Oh, and we'll give you a lot of shit about not buying one already.
Keep it sick, people. We couldn't do this without you guys!!!

Meet the family in Chicago!!!
Current mood: excited
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
Its less than three weeks until Chicago's Weekend of Horrors convention, middle-America's biggest gathering of horror fans for an awesome, whirlwind three-day festival of all things dark, creepy, and gross. If you're anywhere near Illinois, you don't want to miss out on this event!
If you're a Barricade fan (which we certainly hope you are), you'll have the opportunity to meet the following members of our demented little family in Chicago:
Raine Brown ("Nina")
Joseph Zaso ("Michael"/Producer)
André Reissig ("David") - All the way from Germany!!!
Manoush ("The Mother")
Ted Geoghegan (Screenwriter/Executive Producer/Guy you're always talking to on here)
Mike Holmes (One of Barricade's MANY brutalized victims)
Jason Beam (Our amazing art director/designer)
... And more!!!
With any luck, we'll have another guest or two visiting from Germany, but we won't announce their presence until we're 100% sure that they're coming. It's a Hell of a long trip for one weekend.
The Barricade booth will be located right next to the Jason Beam Studios booth and, as an added bonus, you can stop by Jason's table any time Friday or Saturday and meet the lovely Christy Hemme from TNA Wrestling, Playboy Magazine, and the upcoming horror feature Fallen Angels!
Its gonna be a great time... If you can make it - rsvp and tell us you'll BE THERE!!! We seriously can't wait to meet you guys!!!

The Reviews (Constantly updated)
Current mood: relieved
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
Since the reviews have started, we thought we'd make it easier for you guys to check out what people are writing about Barricade!
Here's what Fangoria Magazine said about our film (Issue 260):
* "Outdoing even the harder-R grue-fests being produced in America, Barricade spares no viscera when it comes to its body count."
* "With torture films like Saw and Hostel scoring at the box office, the timing couldn't be better for smaller, similar outings like Barricade to breach the market."
* "German auteur Timo (Mutation) Rose opted for full-throttle violence... in his savage, unfiltered saga Barricade."
For more, pick up the issue! We're on page eighteen!
Worldweird Cinema has called Barricade "One of the top seven film events of 2006!"
Closet Space director Mel House says, "If you're into gore, grue, splat, and torture, this is the movie for you. Awesome delivery on all fronts."

Barricade DVDetails!!!
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
Hey Barricade fans!
Have you pre-ordered your Limited Edition Barricade DVD yet? If not, you'd better get your asses in gear, because they're going fast! If you want a copy of the uncut version, that's got all of the gut-munching, flesh-ripping fun - this is the only way you're gonna see it!
It doesn't matter where in the world you are - stop by Cinema Image Productions RIGHT NOW and place your order! After all, the thing is only $14.95. You can't buy jack squat for that anymore... but you can support indie horror and get a kick-ass, brutal gore flick!
And remember, all pre-orders include an autographed photo from Barricade star Joe Zaso... and everyone who pre-orders will also be put into a raffle for a VERY cool surprise gift that we'll be announcing in early '07. You don't wanna miss out on it, folks.
Okay, enough pimping the pre-sales for now... We're sure you'll be inundated with countless bulletins about it over the next few months anyways.
We thought we'd use this blog to give you a little insight into the Barricade DVD itself. With Timo hard at work on the authoring of the disc (this guy can do everything), we decided to fill you in on a few of the cool special features that will be included on it.
Not only will you get the totally uncut version of the film (which you can see NOWHERE else), the disc has two very fun little documentaries on the making of this low-budget wonder. I Survived Barricade is a collection of interviews with the cast and crew, discussing their time in Germany, their roles, and why they agreed to be covered from head-to-toe in gore. Behind the Barricade is a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the film, including looks at how Timo and his crew created the movie's amazing prosthetic and digital effects.
Last night, Joe Zaso and Raine Brown recorded the commentary track for the film, which apparently went off without a hitch. According to Joe, it was "lively, informative, and at times flattering to our colleagues!" Hey, we can't argue with that!!! Flatter away, guys! You'll be able to find that on the DVD, as well!
Also on the DVD are slideshows, trailers, and several "Easter Eggs" that we all hope will highly entertain! For you technophiles, the film will be presented in Dolby Digital and 1 85:1 widescreen.
Without giving too much away, we thought it might be fun to release the film's chapter stops in this blog... just to give you an idea of what to expect.
So, without further ado:
CHAPTERS 1. The New Blood 2. Blood and Gore 3. Opening Credits 4. Michael's House 5. The First Day 6. Having Fun 7. She's All I Have 8. The First Night 9. The Freak 10. Run For Your Life 11. The Next Victim 12. The Cabin 13. Predators 14. The Showdown
Guess away...
To all of you, thanks for sticking it out with us here on MySpace - and to everyone who has already pre-ordered the disc, we do know who you are and we are very grateful.
Everybody else, do us a favor: Support indie horror and reserve your disc today!
And as always, keep it sick, gorehounds. There's much more where this came from.

Barricade's first convention appearance!!!
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
As of Sunday, November 12, 2006, Barricade is finalized. The movie complete and work on the DVD extras is now beginning!
To commemorate this happy event, we've decided to share some of our fond memories about the recent convention Barricade was featured at.
Our first official convention appearance was at Germany's Weekend of Horrors 2 in Saalbau - Bottrop this past weekend (Nov. 11 - 12). It's a completely European production, not affiliated with Fangoria's U.S.-based Weekend of Horrors, which we will be attending in Chicago this February.
Barricade stars Andre Reissig and Manoush were both on-hand to meet and greet the massive crowds - and several of Barricade's more-infmaous victims were also kind enough to show up and help promote the feature. The turnout was absolutely stunning - and several kind celebs stopped by the Barricade booth to learn more about our promising little film.
Barricade shared a booth with Marc Rohnstock, who directed the new German horror film Dungeon of Evil and plays the "acid death" victim in Barricade. A good friend of Timo Rose's - and a great new talent from Germany - we couldn't have picked anyone better to share our area with. Marc is a class-act!
Return of the Living Dead's Don Calfa stops by the Barricade booth to show some love for indie German cinema!
Jason Voorhees himself, Kane Hodder, stopped by the Barricade booth and hung out for quite a while, taking time out of his busy schedule to violently choke our cast and fans!
Kane chokes Barricade star Andre Reissig within an inch of his life.
Kane throttles Marc Rohnstock as the crowd cheers.
This may be the first time we have ever seen Kane smile. He must have been giddy after all the chokings.
A little later, Barricade star Manoush showed up and decided that Marc didn't get beaten hard enough in the film, so she took a page from the Book of Hodder and continued to close his windpipe.
Manoush, doing her finest Kane Hodder impression on Marc.
And to top it off, The Cryptkeeper himself, John Kassir, showed up to snap a few pics and meet the cast and crew! Damn, it seems like everyone wants a taste of Barricade!!!
Chris (our slashed throat victim), Kassir, and Marc!
Andre Reissig said to us, via e-mail It was a goddamn blast!!! I have never written so many autographs in my life before! We went there with a few posters and maybe 400 photos and autograph cards. The people literally ripped the stuff out of our hands! We were writing autographs all the time! I was totally overwhelmed! It really gave me goosebumps! It was such a strange feeling, having strangers shout your name and point their finger at you.
Manoush added: People were crazy there! Andre gave me a whole stack of autograph pics and I had to sign 'em all. So many people came who wanted one, we ran out! I got recognized everywhere and people ran after me and wanted autographs and photos of me with them. It was insane - in a positive way .. People over here are going nuts for BARRICADE!
We'll wrap this up with a distant shot of our modest Barricade booth. Crowds were gathered around it all weekend and we couldn't have been more appreciative of them. We could never have made this film without each and every one of them and the support they've given us since day one.
 Thank you everyone!!!
We hope we can live up to your high expectations. We have the best fans in the world.
Thank you so much for reading.
Keep it sick, ~ the BARRICADE crew
