Taking some time off
Due to health reasons I'll be taking the summer off till I get back on my feet. I'll miss playing with Lightnin Ike. In my book hes the best lead guitar player and song writer around and is a good friend.
I've had Lupus for 26 years and right now I need to get some rest, I took off from playing for about a year about 3yrs back and I came back so I'll do it again. Theres no doubt in my mind. the Dr.s said I can jam once in awhile, but no 4 hr gigs. The way I feel right now I won't argue with them.
Thank you everyone who has supported me in my playing and stressful times. If you can, come see Babe and The Kruzrs Friday at the Flamingo Bar and Grill. We'll have a great time.

OH OH...
Current mood:  giggly
Well poopie do. I found out tonight that the Kruz'rs were playing, I didn't have a clue. Right now I'm in Council Grove was back earlier today, but had to go back cause (someone) turned all the electrity off on the pole. Just call him Ozzy. I feel bad I wasn't here, but when Paul called it blew my mind. I'm having a good time at the neighbors right so I'm glad I did go back. It was a great week, and am seriously thinking of moving from place to place all summer and forget about band crap. With the price of gas and what we get pd, its not worth it. After watching Devin everyday, taking care of a disabled brother-in-law and Dan being in heart failure its a hassle. Well I'm going to drink somemore and enjoy myself for once and watch the bon fire and give the computer back to Robert.... Cheers.

Mothers day this year
Well this will be my first Mothers Day without my son, which be hard because he always made a big deal out of it, so for this Mothers Day I'll be visiting him at his grave. I know hes really not there, and will be here with me, this will be the first time I've been there since the funeral. Bummer.. Then we found out the other day Dan is in heart failure, so we have that to deal with. Other than that everything is just fine at the old homestead. All you Mothers have a wonderful day tomorrow..I plan on taking my mom to dinner she'll be 80 in Sept, so I'm going to enjoy her while I can....Shes worth it she sacrificed alot for us kids and worked like a man loading iron and working other jobs.She had no plumbing and no money and not much of a house,and going without things so we could have a few things.. Shes one in a million.... I love you MOM....

A | A | A Local teens with the JR-ROTC at Topeka High School continue recovering from a Monday night car accident.
17-year-old Samantha Becerra has a long and tough recovery ahead of her.
Her family tells us Samantha was fighting for her life for the first couple days and since the Monday night accident has had three major surgeries to stop her internal bleeding and pin her pelvic bone back together again.
The accident happened Monday night when according to family and friends 17-year-old Jonathan Schwanz, was driving his girlfriend Samantha home.
Police continue investigating why Schwanz's pick up truck collided with another at the intersection of Wanamaker and Huntoon.
Their JR-ROTC instructor, Gunner Kelly, tells us Johnathan is out of the hospital and recovering at home. Samantha remains in ICU at KU Med Hospital with serious injuries.
This family also endured a terrible loss nearly seven years ago to the day when Samantha's 4-year-old brother and grandma were killed in a car accident in Oskaloosa.

Dan
Current mood:  tired
The surgery went pretty darned good, the aneurysm was as big as a golf ball with some clots in it. Then they decided to put him in ICU his blood pressure dropped, hopefully hell have his own room tomorrow. I don't think either of us slept last night. For me it was hard to sleep from worry and a grand kid and dog crowding me out of bed.My I'm popular.
The weirdest thing happened after they took Dan in this morning some old guy came up to me and smiled I thought man am I suppose to know him? He said he saw the light of the Lord in me. WOW that was a new one. He talked some then wanted to know if he could pray for me and Dan. Well sure I'll take what I can get.. His wife or some woman came there and started that praying to. and then they left. I didn't see them once in the waiting room don;t know where they disappeared to but they sure made me feel good. Amy was with me the whole time, shes a rock. Thought I was going to have to hurt her when she didn't want me to pay for her coffee, I won... I was so tired I got wierd around the surgeon glad hes a friend. he said something to Dan about just putting a zipper in him,and that did it When I'm tired I'm like a goofy drunk can't quit laughing.
I want to thank everyone who prayed for us and sent comments and messages. Lets you see who your real friends are. You're all so wonderful. Its time to get to bed I'm goofy tired.

COUNT DOWN

We'll have to have Dan at the hosp by 5:30 tomorrow morning. Oh man the only time I get up that early is for leaving on vacation. Ought to be a hoot. Amy my best friend will be there with me for moral support. Quite frankly anything that happens won't surprise me.Nothing surprises me anymore. Poo life is one big ole surprise and experience. Makes ya tough.
As soon as Dan's back on his feet we're headed for the lake house, I haven't been there in over 2 years, its time to go there now, and see what the cattle look like to. We'll be having a bunch of calves coming along soon, and thats a sight to see. We'll just pack up the pets and go for it. I'll still come to town to play I have this place to stay at.
Wish us luck for tomorrow. I'm ready to get it over with...

Big D’s surgery

Dans surgery got put off again so it will be on his birthday Feb. 1. So I might not play that night, maybe we could get Li'l Ernie to put on a wig and take my place that night
I am just sooooo positive it will all go good, this is going to be a good year I can feel it. I figured out whatever happens all I have to do is let it be in Gods's hands, he doesn't want me to have to worry. And as soon as he's back on his feet again,I'm headin' to the lake house and the ranch. I'm going to start living again. YaaaHoooo.

HERE I GO AGAIN

Well get to spend time at the hosp again. Dan has an aneurysm in his leg so they'll do the surgery 8 am Fri. we have to be there at 5:30am . Tomorrow morning he has to be there for a Doppler? to see how bad his corraded(?) arteries are. so I'm going to be friggin tired he decided not to put his compeletly disabled brother in the nursing home now boo hoo musn't do that.. so I'll get to take care of him by myself. So if I don't play Fri. night think nothing of it. I'll try it depends on how tired I am. My Dr. upped my predensone today, since I'm half sick. In my next life I'm not coming back anywhere near these people I know.
