How come gay women seem to be the loudest protesters of those who are pro-life? Gay women are the least likely to ever become pregnant, and if they do, it's because they've decided to HAVE a child. Is it really about THAT?
I feel its about rights period, Roe V wade was decided on the Fourteenth Amendment. The Supreme court decided that.. Jane Roe is embraced within the personal liberty protected by the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Roe v. Wade was a landmark decision in which the United States Supreme Court ruled that many state laws banning abortions were unconstitutional and therefore unenforceable. As a part of this 7-2 decision, the court set up the "trimester system" which says that a state cannot interfere with abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy, that it can interfere in some abortions in the second trimester, and that it can interfere in most abortions in the third trimester. This system is based on the concept of vested interest: the court ruled that the state has no vested interest in early pregnancy.
So my question is if Roe v Wade is overturned will that allow a legal loop hole to overturn the 14th Amendment?

Pakistan has lodged a formal complaint with the US over a deadly ground attack inside its borders. Pakistani officials say at least twenty civilians were killed after helicopters delivered a US-led unit into Pakistan. US forces are said to have fired inside three homes containing women and children. The attack marks the first time the US has used ground troops inside Pakistan. A Pakistani government statement condemned what it called a "gross violation of Pakistan's territory" and "a grave provocation." US officials have declined comment so far. The attack comes less than two weeks after a US air strike in Afghanistan killed as many as ninety civilians, including sixty children. The US has disputed the casualty toll.

Don't tell me I can't make the right choice about my life, I was 18 when my son was born. With the help of my Mother and sisters I made the choice to keep my son he is now 21. One of the proudest things I can think of my son saying to me is... Mom you raised us and still got your education so don't worry I will get mine.
Ladies you really need to think about that, if you are raising a daughter do you really need the government telling her what to do trading away your right to advise her? Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, and Cynthia Wesley were dressed in their "Youth Sunday" best, ready to lead the 11:00 adult service at the church, which since its construction in 1911 had served as the center of life for Birmingham's African American community. Only a few minutes before the explosion, they had been together in the basement women's room, excitedly talking about their first days at school. The bombing came without warning.

I know you have all saw the video ..Abortion and Barack Obama. Bad huh? But the truth always tastes bad and hurts on the way down when you swallow it.
Late term abortion has been around for a very long time and you are right it is wrong on all counts. As a medical worker I know that you can see and hear a heartbeat as early as 7wks. So it is truly heartbreaking to allow abortions anytime after that IMO.

Mr. Obama has stated: That Senator Obama's attackers don't tell you is that existing Illinois law already requires doctors to provide medical care in the very rare case that babies are born alive during abortions. They will not tell you that Obama voted against these laws in Illinois because they were clear attempts to undermine Roe v. Wade.
Let me repeat THERE IS ALREADY A LAW EXISTING IN ILLINOIS THAT COVERS THIS when the pro life crowd tried to add the law that this video address.The bills Senator Obama voted against in Illinois were crafted to undermine Roe v. The problem with the Born Alive Infant Protection Act:
1. This Bill Does Not Spell Out What Medical Care Doctors Must Provide When An Abortion Procedure Ends In A Live Birth.
2.The Legislation Also Specifically Says It Has No Impact On Illinois Abortion Laws.(so why did they need a new law)
3. For more than 20 years, Illinois law has required that when 'there is a reasonable likelihood of sustained survival of the fetus outside the womb, with or without artificial support,' an abortion may only be performed if a physician believes 'it is necessary to preserve the life or health of the mother.' And in such cases, the law requires that the doctor use the technique 'most likely to preserve the life and health of the fetus' and perform the abortion in the presence of 'a physician other than the physician performing or inducing the abortion who shall take control of and provide immediate medical care for any child born alive as a result of the abortion.'" Black youths called 'a violent bunch,' 'troublemakers'
On August 1, Judge J.P. Mauffray Jr. was removed from the Jena 6 trial due to his highly biased remarks about the defendants.
Mauffray revealed his racist inclinations by calling the six Black youths "a violent bunch" and "real troublemakers." Judge Thomas M. Yeager, who pulled Mauffray off the case, wrote, "The right to a fair and impartial judge is of particular importance in the present cases. "
Mauffray's rulings against the six Black youth charged with felonies over a school scuffle were so racist they were three times overturned. A Louisiana appeals court ruled that Mychal Bell had to be tried as a juvenile and not as an adult as Mauffray had intended. Yeager previously prevented Mauffray from closing the Jena 6 proceedings to the public and media.
Despite the overturns, Mauffray has presided over nothing less than the legal lynching of the Jena 6. He let the six be put on trial for murder-related charges over what amounted to a school fight. He set bails between $70,000 and $138,000 for the six youths—unaffordable sums to their families of modest incomes—keeping the defendants in jail for months.
Victims of hate crimes put on trial
The events that led up to the Jena 6 trial exposes the deep-rooted racism that still prevails in the South.
In September 2006, a Black high school student was given permission by the school principal to sit under a tree where only white students usually congregated. The following day, three nooses were hanging from the "white tree. "
The three white students responsible for this racist act of terror were slapped on the wrist—they were suspended from school for three days. The school's white superintendent explained, "Adolescents play pranks. I don't think it was a threat against anybody. "
On Dec. 1, 2006, a few weeks after the nooses were hung from the tree, Black student Robert Bailey attended an all-white party by invitation. He was attacked and beaten by a crowd, which included Matt Windham and Justin Barker. Police arrived and told Bailey and his friends to "get back to their side of town. "
The next day, Bailey ran into Windham at a convenience store. Words were exchanged, and Windham pulled out a sawed-off shotgun. Bailey and other Black men with him successfully wrestled the gun from Windham's hands and fled the scene. Windham was not arrested.
A couple of days later, Barker was on campus openly defending the white students who had hung the nooses, using the word "n****r" freely. In response, several Black students roughed up Barker, who was taken to the hospital and released the same day.
The Jena police did not proceed to arrest Windham, who assaulted Bailey with a gun. Nor were the students who hung the nooses ever charged with hate crimes for their racist act of intimidation. Rather, the police and the courts set out to persecute the six Black youth involved in the school fight.
Racist judge Mauffray's removal from the case is a positive development but does not undo the racism built into this case. The fact the Jena 6 continue to be on trial attests to this.
Furthermore, the removal of one racist judge does not address the continued systematic criminalization of African American communities throughout the country. The case of the Jena 6 is only a stark example of the racism embedded in the justice system, from the police to the courts, not only in the South but across the country.
Revolutionaries and progressives should continue to champion the case while building the movement that will challenge the racist character of the justice system. Free the Jena 6!
Several months ago one of the top ten bloggers wrote a blog about the Jena 6 but she left out the part about the noose, needless to say that made me angry because her blog was wrote in a way as to anger her white readers, adding fuel and causing racist comments. I feel that we as bloggers have a responsabillty to our readers to provide not only the facts but we must be careful as to not cause harm. I belive thats just what she did, I wish race was not a issue in America sadly it is!
