The biz has really been buckling the midnight oil at both ends lately. In addition to the new record we're about to record this June, we found the time to fart out a new TOUR E.P.! Yes, TOUR III will be available on the upcoming Melvins/Big Biz tour. 3 hot new tracks, not available anywhere else. Totally unbelieveable! We also have some new shirt designs, and maybe we'll think of something else between now and then. Who knows?
So, with our heads in the sand, our chins to our chests, our hands by our sides clenched into white-knuckled fists, and our upper lips stiff and perspiring, we come marching into your town like the secret police of good timey freedom. We have our ways, and you will join us.

What do with the biz? Update, fool!

Alright, the smoke has cleared from all the new developments of the past couple months.
We made a new Melvins record (comes out July 8), brought Toshi onboard permanent style, and wrote some top drawer new jams. Now what, you say? We are glad you asked.

We met with the bigwigs of Hydra Head records a few weeks back on neutral ground to discuss the future. After some table flipping, pint glass throwing, a few light stabbings, and a good cry, we are happy to announce that Hydra Head and Big Business will be working together on a new album.

So this June we pack our trusty steed Bullet for the ultimate recording adventure with Phil Ek in our old hometown of Seattle. We're really going to try this time! The juice is on! And we'll be playing some shows down the coast on the way home, so check the new dates!

We'll be heading out on tour with the Melvins this summer, after the recording is finished. Then, it's off to Europe in the fall.
We'll let you know the dates as soon as we do.

He just wouldn’t go away.

After a year of following us around like a lost puppy, Big Business is happy to announce the addition of Mr. Toshi Kasai as our third member. Toshi is a wizard, ultimate hero, and makes a mean stir fry. He also plays guitar/keyboard/noise in the band. We hope you love him as much as we do. Toshi will be helping us write our most fantastic record yet sometime later in the spring.

We hope this will put an end to lazy comparisons to other two piece bands like the White Stripes and Death From Above, and aid music writers in new lazy comparisons to other three piece bands instead. Blonde Redhead? Crosby, Stills, and Nash?

At any rate, we’re happy to have Toshi on board and expect everyone to treat him with the proper respect and courtesy he deserves. Let the hazing begin!

Big Biz Business 2008, part 1, scene 1, act 4, paragraph 2.

I know it's late, but it's high time we get everyone on the same page for the upcoming year in Big Business.

Right now I am sitting in a recording studio in Hollywood as Jared is doubling his bass parts on a new Melvins record. Check out the photos in our photos. It has a name, and we'll be spilling the beans on that one shortly. Everything seems to be going as planned, so expect some freaky deep cuts on this one. Toshi Kasai is at the control thing, doing stuff you and I probably will never understand. Dale is starting a fire outside, signaling the first bbq of the year is about to be underway. Once this is wrapped up, The Biz will be finishing up our latest batch of songs and hopefully recording this spring. Our touring schedule for the year is still being figured out, but we know this: the Melvins and Big Business are touring Europe in the fall. We'll post more info as it comes in. We have high hopes that some special plans we've been planning for years will come to fruition in 2008. Come fly with us.

The Biz in 2007!

Hay Hay!!

Wow! It's been a real emotional roller coaster, that 2006. But 2007 is going to be like Emotional Magic Mountain on roofies and viagra! We've got a new record, some new tour dates, and new, better friends.

So, we're once again hitching up the wagons and trucking out to SXSW. This is our big chance. Some of you might ask, "when are you coming to Denver?" or "Cleveland" or "New York City"? And we would say "June". After we wrap up this southwest expedition, we'll be heading to Europe with Melvins for the month of April. Big Biz will then continue our US tour in June, hitting the East Coast, the Midwest, and beyond. So sit tight, we'll be right there.

Did you watch the Grammys? We didn't. BUT we did manage to scam our way into one of the after parties. Check out some of our adventures in our pictures section. Thanks to Matt and Sheena for spicing up the night. Let it never be said that being the voice of the turtle in the Sly Cooper video game doesn't have its perks where the ladies are concerned.

Our new album Here Come The Waterworks is out on March 6th...If you buy four copies and play them simultaneously, we'd love to hear if it was worth it.

Here We Are Here We Go!

A lot of you have been writing asking for more songs on the page. Our knee-jerk response is usually " why don't you buy the record, you can have ALL the songs, all at once, forever." But, as it happens, our cold steel money-grubbing hearts are actually filled with some sort of gooshy nougat or marshmallow creme. So here's a brand new song, only found on our "Tour II" e.p. Actually, it might also be on some sort of comp or something as well, but you're getting this shit for free so what are you complaining about you ungrateful prick?

    Lots of stuff is about to go down with the Biz. Starting this Saturday, July 1st, we will be going into the studio to record with the Melvins. Buzz and Dale have been whipping us into a razor sharp ruthless killer robot of rhythm, so we're pretty excited about that. Soon as that's in the can, we'll be jetting up to our old hometown of Seattle. MASTER PHIL EK is at the helm once again and will be recording the new Big Business record. Purveyor of transcendental noise and guitar virtuoso extraordinaire DAVID SCOTT STONE will be joining us. We will also be appearing at the CAPITOL HILL BLOCK PARTY on friday, July 28th. So come on out for the partyrock party and stay for the danceparty afterparty party.
AND FINALLY...
The Melvins/Big Business US tour is coming to a town near you (if you're from America) at last. From early September to early December we will be on the road and coming right at you. So load up the vanagon and follow us from town to town. We don't mind! Just have the common courtesy to never, ever make eye contact with any of us. Tour dates posted soon. Thanks, and keep writing!

Burn bridges, BURN!!

Hello adoring fans,

It's all true, we've moved to LA to become big fat rock stars.  We've already got our spot on Hollywood Blvd. all picked out- right next to Bob Saget and Sally Struthers, god bless them.  As such, we won't have time for our old friends anymore.  We'll be so busy with our new rich and famous friends, it will be nearly impossible to reach us, so don't even try.  If you can't do something nice for us, don't do anything at all.  That's what my mom used to say.

It's also true that we've joined the Melvins.  We'll still be doing the Biz, so don't start fucking crying or some shit.  The plan right now is for both bands to record new records this summer and then go on an extensive U.S. tour with both bands in Sept/Oct.  Tickets will be $300.  I know what you're saying: "How can they afford to offer such a low low ticket price for such an incredible show?!"  Trust me, we can't believe it ourselves!  I guess the yacht will have to wait until next year.

Also, we do indeed have a new tour ep out.  It's called Tour EP II, go figure.  We were selling it on our most recent tour with High on Fire, but soon you'll be able to order it from our old pals at Wantage records (www.wantageusa.com).  We have to stamp them and ship them off, and that might take all fucking day, so be patient.

Other than that, we're just chillin' pool side waiting for the checks to roll in, so sit tight and prepare to be dazzled.

We're totally coming to your town maybe!

Uh oh!  What's that smell?!  It's the Biz coming on tour, yo.  We're going to bring all kinds of stink (or stank if you will) to the heartland of this great United States 11/3 through 11/18.  Along the way, we'll meet new friends, make fun of old ones, and hopefully end up with our realality TV show.  We want to call it "Ultimate Merger" or "Breaking Big Business- We're In Your Pocket".  We're even playing with Minus the Bear and These Arms Are Snakes on some dates.  It should be a lot of fun, so check out our upcoming show listings, and hopefully, we can put a stink in your pocket real soon.  Ta!

Here Come the Waterworks.

Here's some news!

Hot Item#1. We just got back from LA, and that shit was HOT. While down there, we kicked it with the Melvins guys and were inspired by their can-do attitude and positive edge. Science was dealt, and some sort of "jam" may have dropped at some point. Turns out the vibe is up, so we'll be doing a U.S. tour in the spring . Big Business will open, and then join Melvins for their set. Also, we saw Jackee at the airport. She looked great!

Hot Item#2. Big Biz is down in the lab right now writing some white hot joints for a brand new record entitled "This Shit is Easy".

Hot Item#3. We realize that our website bigbigbusiness.com is in a sad state of disrepair. This is a direct result of our laziness and general apathy toward all things technological. We are going to evolve and get with the times, so expect a major overhaul in the coming weeks. Seriously, we're trying.

We try to be easy to reach, so keep writing and tell us about stuff you think we should know.
