Burlesque Is Dead video and Upcoming Tour Info

The "Low Brow Road Show" just played the TELUS Snowboard Festival in
Whistler April 12, then we're heading to Europe for 25 shows in April-June
and down the US West Coast for 12 more in June - including a show at
the Ink & Iron Festival in Long Beach!  We are taking along Voodoo
Dollz Little Miss Risk, Camaro Luvroc and Lola Frost who are
sharpening their knives to carve up a good time with their bump and
grind.  You can be sure that the band that's putting the "cult" back
in "culture" will use their spooky powers to draw you into their world
of bad girls, booze, and pulp intrigue.

Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dollz wrapped their second annual Voodoo
Ball at the Red Room, playing to a sold out home crowd, and followed
that up with a 5-week, coast to coast tour of Canada and the USA,
hitting 26 cities from Vancouver to Brooklyn in their shiny black
Murderbus.

Since their return, Big John and sCare-oline have been down in the lab
cooking up some catchy tunes for their fourth album: monster garage
blues stitched together with rock and roll, pumped with upright bass
and roaring Gretsch Falcons along with heart-pounding rhythms from JT
and L'il Bastard.  Their previous CD "Take Your Medicine" on Wolverine
Records has gotten some of the brightest lights in the media to shine
on them.

Whistler Show/ New Tour Stories

The time has come once again where we scratch through our clooective hazes and try to recall what it was we did over the last year, where the bruises came from ad how that tattoo got where it did... Yessiree, we’ve updated the 2007 tour stories on the BJB website. Down In The Lab....

Returning home after a five week tour from west to east coast and back again, Big John Bates, s-Careoline and JT are back to work in the studio. Having laid the foundations of a few tracks prior to departing on this last tour, it will be be the band’s fourth album. The new album, tentatively called "Skin and Guts" will feature 12 new tracks that the group has been tweaking over the last year. They’ve only got a short time to complete it in, since they take off to Europe to do their seventh tour on the Continent which will take them to Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy. Accompanying them will be the Voodoo Dolz with the High Priestess Of Sass, Little Miss Risk and the lovely Camaro Luvroc fresh from working on her new salon, East Vanity in Vancouver, BC.

Returing home for a scant day to collect themselves, they’ll be doing a ten day tour of the West Coast of the US to play the Ink and Iron Festival in Long Beach, CA. Along for that ride will be newest Doll, Lola Frost joining Little Miss Risk onstage. The tour will see them invade Washington, Oregon, California as well as a few surprise locals to be announced.

Denver Show Cancelled

Hi folks,

I regret to say that due to a communication error between our booking agency and the good people at the Falcon in Denver we will not be able to do the show there as previously listed. We are instead pushing on to Salt Lake City where we’ll play at Burt’s Tiki Lounge next (anyone wanting to make the trek is more than welcome) :)

We have a few irons in the fire that we will keep you abreast of as they develop and we would like to apologise to the people who were keen to see us in Denver, but we’ll see you next time we’re through.

BJB Tour March Tour Dates and Detes

Big John Bates & the Voodoo Dollz are bringing their hotrod blues and
sexy side show, the world-renowned "Low-Brow Road Show", across North
America in Feb / March 2008!

Big John and sCare-oline have broken out the Ouija board and are
holding a seance to contact the old spirits of garage-blues and rock
'n roll at the Red Room in Vancouver February 9. There the "damned
darlings" will transform the Red Room Cabaret into a blues-infused
bayou, and resurrected the ghosts of debaucheries past, complete with
burlesque, bands, and a zombie procession! Then they're heading your
way...

Busy this past year touring North America and Europe, this winter the
group has begun recording their fourth album, Skin & Guts, which
already has labels looking for a listen. Their most recent CD "Take
Your Medicine" on Wolverine Records / Devil Sauce Recordings has
gotten some of the brightest lights in the media to shine on them.

Now, armed with their gris-gris bag full of tricks, their heading out
on the road again. But they aren't going alone. Joining them, direct
from Hell's Cabaret are Voodoo favorites Little Miss Risk and Lola
Frost. Kicking off the tour during the Valentine's Day massacre, they
encourage wild costumes at the shows! They have even been known to
award prizes to the most outrageous "Mardi Gras Fabulous" with gifts
from Sweet Soul Designs, Riot City Clothing and Jagermeister.

In addition to the Voodoo Ball, Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dollz
brought their "Carn-Evil and Sexy Side Show" to Whistler for New Years
Eve, playing to a sold out crowd, as well as entertaining 4000

It was on a hot night in June 2006 that we held our first Voodoo Ball at Richards On Richards, and we've been chomping at the bit to do it again. Finally, the planets have aligned, and we're off and running - to the bayou! This year's theme is inviting you to the Mardi Gras in the swamp, so be perpared for something you've not yet seen before, grab your green, gold and purple beads and prepare to get a little of that ol' black magic in your system! Since we know how hard it is to ge to anything early in Vancouver, we're also giving out special 'gris gris' bags to the first 50 people through the door. Because everyone likes free stuff... So, you know where you'll need to be to let your sinning begin for the weekend.

Season’s Beatings! BJB in Victoria this Friday!

It's that time of year when couples exchange saucy gifts by the fire, families visit with one another, friends come to call and Hell's Cabaret comes bursting back out onto Vancouver Island! Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dollz bring their Hot Rod Blues back to Lucky Bar this Friday night, and they're not coming empty handed. They've got presents for all the bad kids with seasonal-themed burlettas from Starlot Harlots Lola Frost and Sweet Soul's Cherry Ontop and Little Miss Risk. Not to mention fun swag giveaways from Sweet Soul Designs and Jagermeister. Then Big John Bates takes the stage including our newest favorite tradition, strip-carolling to BJB's Christmas carol One Horse Sleigh To Hell as well as other BJB favorites.
