PIE Lyrics
STUPID DANIEL
Stupid Daniel looking at the sun, you're gonna burn your eyes out boy Stupid Daniel look at how he runs, with his arms out like a girl
La la la
Stupid Daniel standing in the rain watching all the puddles grow Stupid Daniel whatcha thinking of, maybe you could walk on water
We wanna know what we wanna know, and we wanna see what we wanna see, and we want to go where we want to go but it's not up to you or me
Stupid Daniel head is in the clouds, you're dreaming all of your life away Stupid Daniel always by himself never says a word out loud
We wanna know what we wanna know, and we wanna see what we wanna see, and we want to go where we want to go but it's not up to you or me and we wanna do what we wanna do and we wanna fly but we cannot fly and we wanna try almost everything under the sky
Stupid Daniel looking at the sun, he knows more than anyone
PIGGYBACK RIDE
I'm gonna give her a piggyback ride over to the other side of this world…of this world I'm gonna get abs of steel, twice a week and then she will be all mine for all time
And she'll say I'm in love with a beautiful man that I don't hardly understand at all
I'm gonna win a million bucks and drive it in a monster truck to her house…over to her place I'm gonna be all I can be like the army man on my TV you better believe it
And she'll say I'm in love with a beautiful man that I can't hardly understand at all Is this the best that you've got she'll say But I'm in love with a beautiful girl means more to me than all the world you know
I'm gonna bake a super pill for her to take and then she will trade my heart for her heart
And she'll say I'm in love with a beautiful man that I can't hardly understand at all Is this the best that you've got she'll say But I'm in love with a beautiful girl means more to me than all the world you know
DEALER PLATES
She's got dealer plates in her window a 38 in her handbag, unfortunately for him this will be the end
It's been two bad years, seven horrible months, eighteen unbearable days and nine hours too long
She's got dealer plates in her window a 38 on the front seat, unfortunately for him this will be the end
The world is bright and clean and bruised up like anything she can hardly leave the house at all She will put 1000 pounds of goodbyes between them and there will never be and ever again
She's got dealer plates on her window a 38 in her right hand, unfortunately for him this will be the end
Somebody call the cops He can't get the bleeding to stop He's done such a terrible thing She's done such a terrible thing
LIKE A BOY
I saw you looking at me I was looking at you too
Is there somewhere we could go where we could be alone
You are a butterfly and I am a butterfly and we are two butterflies just hanging in the summer wind
What did you say to me I thought I heard you say something to me…but maybe I was wrong
And if I can I will be yours for all time
Why do we do this to ourselves when I love you so damn much and you love me so damn much
What can your father do I hate it when he treats me like a boy
DOPE WINGS
I was driving through the desert with my 40 on the floor I didn't have a clue what I was driving for but I just had to get there and I had to get there fast nothing else would satisfy
I was zooming through the ocean with my pedal to the floor, the anchor was inside the boat jack. It doesn't really matter where you is or was before as long as you got a way to get back
I'll be burning up in heaven with these dope wings on my back
It don't really matter what they have down here cause I'll be like flash Gordon in the atmosphere. Giving all the planets a little shove, and wearing a space helmet like a beetle bug
If you got a hundred I got 50 more, we'll wish upon the sky like it's an open door and you can have whatever you want or need
You look at me like I was 3 and I belong in your arms The only one I wanna see more you never got to me before but I never wanna see you leave my side again
BELLY UP
It's another year I'm ready to get up again newer than I've ever been before What a stupid joke to make believe you have control belly up against the deep dark sky…oh why
It's another year and feeling like I do again I don't know if I can pretend In the future or that anything will ever be ever be, ever be so bright…I might
Anyway it's ok, it's ok
INVISIBLE
The shattered pieces of my soul collide with nothing whole there's nothing out here to break anybodys fall. So I move through this emptiness putting motion to the test and looking for the meaning of it all, reality dissolves.
And I'm invisible tonight doing what I can to feel like I'm alive
I trace my heroes one by one stamped in patterns I become the likenesses of everyone I see. Still it always comes to trading up without a thought of what it does to who you are or who you used to be. I see everyone but me
Cause I'm invisible tonight and anyone can see there's nothing left to hide I'm invisible tonight and you won't notice when I'm gone, I've been in this place too long
She came to me on angels wings she touched my heart to set me free, a vision laid along a life long curse. Still I wound up alone again somehow and I'm wondering who she's touching now. Visions are all I have left of her and I can't decide what's worse a heart of stone or a love that burns
Invisible tonight what I would not give to have her by my side I'm invisible tonight and you won't notice when I'm gone, I've been in this place too long
FROZEN THROUGH
EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE MAKES ME WISH FOR HOME EVERYTIME THAT YOU LEAVE I WANNA TURN TO STONE EVERYTHING THAT I FEEL CONFUSES ME TO DEATH I COULD BREATHE BUT I WON'T I'LL SAVE WHAT I HAVE LEFT
BE MY FIRE MELT ME DOWN YOU MIGHT START FROM THE INSIDE OUT TAKE IT SLOWLY WHATEVER YOU DO I'M FROZEN THROUGH
FIRST YOU CROSS THE FINE LINES YOU DRAW UPON YOURSELF THEN YOU PULL THE HEARTSTRINGS YOU FIND ON SOMEONE ELSE IT SHOULD BE SO EASY, BUT NOTHING EVER IS I KNOW THAT I'VE NEVER EVER FELT LIKE THIS
CH
THAT'S ME MELTING UNDER YOU THAT'S MY HEART I'M PULLING THROUGH
BE MY FIRE MELT ME DOWN YOU MIGHT START FROM THE INSIDE OUT I COULD EASILY BE BROKEN IN TWO I'M FROZEN THROUGH
SUPERGREY
The evidence is in and it's going my way now From super screwed up to kinda ok now You can't touch a four-alarm man with the dashing looks and coca puff tan
It's a perfect day for us to play the sun is gone it's super gray x2
There's super skinny people riding super skinny horses And thousands of ships will be blown off courses The golden child has come up lame in the presence of the man who knows no shame
It's a perfect day for us to play the sun is gone it's super gray x2
There's a sign in the sky and it's pointing right at me now It say's the arrows from the sparrows will be falling at my feet now A plastic pope, a jellybean, a fleet of honest submarines
It's a perfect day for us to play the sun is gone it's super gray x6
SLEEPY
Rosey didn't lie the equipment was dry it blew up in her eye and she got sleepy
She's floating on a cloud of zzz's Buzzing like a basket full of motorcycle bees But she's wideawake in her own dreams where she is never sleepy
The race was going well not a saviors chance in hell he could lose unless he fell or just got sleepy
He's running down a train of zzz's Chugging like a basket full of motorcycle bees But he's wideawake in his own dream where she is never sleepy
The kids have finally grown my wife god rest her soul my life is now my own but I'm so sleepy
I'm holding on to all my dreams Buzzing like a basket full of motorcycle bees Where everything is made for me and I am never sleepy
BARNABY JONZE
I got the TV Barnaby Jonze Glassy-eyed pigeon boned It's too late foe me to fight I'm mesmerized
I saw the monster over japan Heavy feet, clumsy hands Showing off with his breath It smelled like death
I let the blue light into my room A quarter past half past June And I may never escape I've seen my fate
I got the TV Barnaby Jonze Glassy-eyed pigeon boned It's too late foe me to fight I'm crystallized
The collector coin and the knife attack he lost that weight but it all came back gonna get rich quick get rich quicker put a quicken on my ticker then I get some liquor I know what you're thinking I know what you thought your heart is pounding like a tick tick tock said I was a ghost but you always wanna doubt me the day my sweater showed up without me
I'm vaporized
BLUEBIRD
Bluebird there in the tree tops lost in a daydream, a longing a craving Bluebird you never stop singing and words can't express what a song without them does
Don't be afraid of anything
Bluebird the sky is the limit so fight while you're in it for flame or reward Pick up your sword Pick up your sword

MILES OF GREEN
Category: Automotive
Over 7,000 Miles of Green Austin musician Billy Harvey's biodiesel adventure across America
Austin musician Billy Harvey bought a gold 1981 Mercedes diesel on Ebay in 14 seconds. Now the unconventional environmentally-friendly singer/songwriter is taking it on a tour across America, with a plan to travel all 7,876 miles on waste vegetable oil. Those who know Harvey might not be surprised by the impulsive purchase, but after meeting a friend who converted a car of the same make and model to run on vegetable oil waste, Harvey was inspired to take a step toward a more environmentally-conscious ride. "I had been hearing about this for a while and wasn't really sure how it could work, but come to find out, it works amazingly well. I like the idea of not being wasteful. I always cleaned my plate as a kid and I guess this is just another of those plate-cleaning efforts." At home, Harvey has a few businesses that supply him with the fuel necessary to get from place to place. He says it benefits all involved. The restaurants no longer have to pay to dispose of the oil, the car uses the oil by burning it off and reducing harmful emissions by 80 percent, and lastly that waste oil will no longer be dumped in to the ground water. Now the test will be to see if he can cross the country with the same ease he travels Austin. His main concern is finding enough establishments that will allow him to essentially take away their trash. Surprisingly people are protective over even their garbage. It's fitting that the green car is making its debut trip in support of Harvey's fourth full-length album, titled "Grow Garden Grow". The two-disc, 28-song effort, which was written, produced and released by Harvey. "The green theme was to enforce the organic nature of this body of work, and the creative process in general which happens all around us and in spite of us."
The record was born out of a songwriting game that Harvey regularly plays with friends and fellow musicians (Bob Schneider, Steve Poltz, Jason Mraz, Matt the Electrician). Once one of the participants picks a title, each member of the group then separately writes songs using that title. "Grow Garden Grow" is a collection of Billy's favorite recordings over the last few years of participating in this songwriting game. If you would like to assist Billy on this earthily adventure (i.e. waste veggie oil, knowledge of a wvo friendly restaurant), please email him at HARVEYSONGS@AOL.COM

excerpt from the liner notes of my NEW release "grow garden grow"
Category: Music
Sound check was over. We were in Chattanooga Tennessee trying to decide how to pass the time till the show. I was on the sidewalk in front of the club still managing the awkwardness of being the NEW guy. Bob Schneider, the songwriter I had just been hired to play guitar for, was inside talking to the opening act. I could overhear Bob proposing some kind of song exercise where he and the guy would each write a song, but within a given time limit. Also, they would have to incorporate a required word or phrase into the song. To my utter horrification, he turned to me as they exited the club and invited me to participate in the thing. With his new friend in tow he said, "Hey this is Steve Poltz, he's opening the next bunch of shows. We're gonna play a songwriting game. You should do it too." I said okay. He said, "You have till tomorrow at sound check to write a song. We'll play 'em for each other then. Oh, and it has to be called CASHVILLE."
This first installment of the game, which included Bob Schneider, Steve Poltz, myself, Bruce Hughes and Mike Longoria will forever be the darling of my memory. It was then that we each wrote a song a day for ten days straight and every night played them for each other on the tour bus: SHOWDOWN at the CAMPFIRE!
Since then the game has been repeated countless times, withstood many assaults by preposterous word clusters, and produced music that will undoubtedly change humankind, as we know it.
With the advents in technology each of us in turn began to acquire laptop computers. We were still conjuring a song every day or two but now also RECORDING them, facing the additional hurdle of having to find a quiet corner or empty dressing room to do so. Now the fact is, there IS no privacy on the road, which should help explain the recurring door slams and other miscellaneous commotion still heard in the background of many of these recordings. I actually began to embrace the ambient noise as an instrument unto itself that, in most cases, possessed some sort of cosmic timing. One of my favorite examples of this is the phone ringing and being retrieved during the middle of "Unprotected". The great thing about this game is that it conditions you to get out of your own way. You don't have time to censor yourself and you find that it's pointless to try to write something "GOOD". You learn to suspend judgment and so begin to realize that you only have control over your own diligence anyway, not necessarily the outcome of any given piece of work. Here are some of my favorite recordings unadulterated, exactly as presented to the "song game" participants (2003 to 2005) and maybe a few other close friends before.

SCRIBBLER'S HEART
MEET ME IN THE DARK DARK FOREST PAST THE WIGGLY WORMY TREES, WHERE BOYS ARE CRYING WOLF AND BRINGING DAMSELS TO THEIR KNEES MEET ME BY THE LEANING MOUNTAIN WHERE THE GHOSTY STORIES GROW AND WE WON'T HAVE TO SAY OUR NAMES CAUSE THEY'LL ALREADY KNOW
I WILL BE THERE, I WILL BE ANYWHERE YOU WANT ME TO GO WITH YOU
MEET ME AT THE SILVER TOWER WHEN IT RINGS THE MIDNIGHT BELL, AND IF THEY CALL US CRAZY WELL IT MAY BE…OH WELL
CH
MEET ME IN THE GOOEY CENTER OF YOUR BRIGHT RED SCRIBBLER'S HEART WE'LL PUT THE WORDS TOGETHER THAT THEY'LL NEVER BREAK APART
I WILL BE THERE, I WILL GO ANYWHERE YOU WANT ME TO GO WITH YOU I WILL BE THERE, I WILL GO ANYWHERE SHE WANTS ME TO GO WOULDN'T YOU
Impossible Mission F Bb It seemed like an impossible mission, floating over the ocean, F Bb C shoving out into nothing, standing where no one was standing. F Bb The builders are building the buildings, the people are stopping and staring F Bb the city is thick like a blanket, the future is ever C uncertain. Dm Bb Dm Bb/G F C hey hey hey…what do you say. She pointed the radar gun Dm Bb F and dared me to run She said I dare you to run. KALEIDOSCOPE GUN
I STARED DOWN THE BARREL OF A KALEIDOSCOPE GUN THERE WAS NOWHERE I COULD TURN, NOWHERE I COULD RUN I COULDN'T MAKE OUT ANYTHING BEHIND THE BUTTERFLY STORM BUT I DIDN'T REALLY FEEL LIKE WE WOULD BE IN ANY HARM
I WOKE IN A FEVER AND THE WORLD WAS UPSIDE DOWN I SWAM IN THE SKY AND SHOT AN ARROW THROUGH THE GROUND THERE WOULD BE 44 DAYS AND 43 NIGHTS BEFORE JEHOVA CAME BACK TO TOUCH THE ISREALITES
I WAS COMING DOWN HARD FROM WHEREVER I WAS STARING DOWN THE BARREL OF A KALEIDOSCOPE GUN FROM A BUTTERFLY STORM INTO A FIREY SEA WAS LIKE THE GATES OF INSANITY WERE POURED OUT OVER ME
I may I may
Right now is waiting on the someday, feeling for an ok, staring through the heat haze. Right now is tumbleweed and stillness, in between and hopeless, power-line and progress
Will you…I may I may Could you…I may I may…Someday I may
Please don't think that it was the plan, the heartache for the tin man, the ballet in the quicksand Right now is ringing every doorbell, a circus and a seashell, an army built on farewells
Ch x2
Right now is hoping that you will be coming back Right now is something that I have
Right now is never very long, it's here and then it's gone
Ch x2

Poisoning The Pool There was an ambush in the desert they were 40 feet tall with hands like hand grenades They blew up everything in sight when they waved goodbye
And we never saw it coming no we never saw it coming but we couldn't turn our eyes away Even though we knew better we just kept staring at the light
Alright Alright That's the way it's gonna be now
The sky was raining poison it was poisoning the pool but everyone kept swimming It's the taking and the doing no matter what were losing all for the sake of winning
My best friend in Austin will tell you what it's costing to live with your eyes closed And if you don't give a damn what's happening around you the who knows
Ch
Hers's to you…
The evidence around us is kind of overwhelming but the future is here And there's got to be a limit to death and destruction but the line is not clear
She's got a little baby and I don't have a baby yet but one day I might And I don't know much about it but I know what I know and I know what feels right…right
Ch That's not the way it has to be now
LEAVING FOR EUGENE FLO ISN'T THAT TOO FAR TO GO LIKE I TOLD YOU SO BUT YOU WOULDN'T LISTEN FLO YOU ALWAYS SAID TO TAKE IT SLOW LIKE SOME THINGS IN LIFE ARE WORTH RESISTING AND NOW IT SEEMS LIKE ALL MY DREAMS HAVE PASSED ME BY
FLO I JUST CALLED TO SAY HELLO I'LL LET YOU GO I'M SURE YOU'RE BUSY OH…YOU DID I'M GLAD YOU FOUND A HOME THAT'S GOOD FOR YOU I'M SURE IT'S PRETTY ROSEMARY THE LEAVES ARE GREEN
SHE SAID SHE'S LEAVING FOR EUGENE IN THE MORNING AND I SAT AND LISTENED AND I SAID NOTHING
SHE'S SLEEPING AND I'M NOT SLEEPING
When I Say Go
The earth is spinning and we are winning, and time is telling me I gotta go home The earth is spinning and we are winning, and I don't know but I don't wanna be alone
On your mark get set remember don't forget All the things you said you'd hate to leave my darling if you left On your mark ok get ready when I say That I wish that you would stay…when I say go
My heart is racing the light keeps changing and I don't know but I was sinking like a stone My heart is racing the light keeps changing and I don't know but I don't wanna be alone
Ch
There's a blackbird singing my ears are ringing, the city's moving to the sound of a drum There's a blackbird singing my ears are ringing, the trees are screaming they don't wanna go home
They're about to be more beautiful 2x
Ch
THE BRING DOWN
I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND I WANNA BE YOUR MAN I WISH UPON YOUR STAR I WANNA CRASH YOUR CAR
IF I HAVE TO BABY I WILL BRING THE BRING DOWN DOWN TOWN MAYBE YOU COULD WEAR MY RING
I WANNA WIND YOU UP I'LL FILL YOUR BIRTHDAY CUP I DON'T WANT IT FOR FREE I'LL GIVE YOU EVERYTHING
CH X2
IT'S JUST ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT YOU AND I'M GOING CRAZY
I WANNA SPOT YOUR STAIN I'LL WEAR YOUR DOGGY CHAIN GIVE ME YOUR TOTAL LOVE I'LL LET YOU SMELL MY GLOVE
