Still Rolling
So here we are at issue 39.
Not too much time these days to get this end of the project done cause I'm/we're trying to get other things done so that we can continue to push this thing even further. But good news! Black book Press juts got added to the Zine collection at the University of Buffalo New York! Follow this link for more info on that: http://ublib.buffalo.edu/libraries/units/pl/ and please tell you're friends and make sure it goes to good use ok! We are still doing music reviews as well, so keep that in mind, and if you have a cd, feel free to send it our way! We are still getting about 60 submissions a month but more and more people are subscribing, so thats a bonus too!
dont forget to check out our friends at
www.youreinsanehoney.com
for other sweet zines and things!

Setting records
Welcome one and all to another, long overdue blog entry from BBP. As you may or may not know, we now have a real staff. The efforts of myslef, are now in full support of a full time Assistant editor: Charleen, and tweo music editors: Chris and Scott. Between the four of us we are looking to improve the zine in every way possible including but not limmited to size, quality, layout, and design. I was just telling my fellow BBP co workers that We are getting more subscriptions then ever and submissions are soaring! Keep it up writers, and pretty soon, you may be able to say that you were a part of the project when it was still relatively "unknown" BUT, with close to 50 sibmissions a month, this dorm room project has already grown into something bigger than I had ever imagine possible. Whats to come in the future? Much more from the review sectoins, show listings, resources for starting your own zine, higher page counts, advertising, A WEB SITE? (A REAL ONE??) And who knows what else. As we say, Chicago, then the world!
check us out on facebook as well by searching for BLACK BOOK PRESS POETRY or click: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5543230686
we could really use the support here to get this group as active as our myspace page and keep things growing!
thanks everyone!

Big news!
Current mood: accomplished
Welcome to issue 30 (forthcomming) of Black Book Press: The Poetry Zine
..:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
For a long time now I have been saying that we are going to look into some other cool things to tie in to Black Book Press. Well, I have finally found some of those things I was talking about! Starting now, Black Book Press is offing the following items for cost, this means that we make no money off of selling them at all. The point of this? Some of these items are really cool, and honestly, it would be an honor to see our readers and contributors order these items in support of the zine. So, Black Book Press now offers the following items with the Black Book Press Cover Image of your choice: 11 x 17 glossy poster prints ($6) Polyester Messenger bags ($20), 5 x 8 journals with 80 sheets of paper ($9) and, Canvas tote bags, with reinforced bottoms ($14) ((on this item you can even have a different cover shown on each of the two sides of the bag)). Please let us know what items you would like and what cover image(s) you would like to have on it.
Also, we now carry chapbooks on consignment! If you want us to carry your chapbook, send us a copy for review and if we like it we will ask you for 5 more and add it to our catalog. You set the price, and when the books sell, we send you the cash! This is the same thing that stores that sell zines do. Black book press will pay you 60 % of the sale price of your item for each copy that sells. Payments will be sent out regularly in the form of personal check or cash if the amount does not include change.
We are now looking for a regluar music review writer, who will have a space in eachc issue. Let us know if this interests you. You can pick the bands, cds or show you review, annd simply send them in, however we are looking for someone who will be willing to do this everymonth.
Black Book Press is also looking for ads for future issues. Full page ads are $10 per issue.

Issues 25 and 26
Issue 25 was sent out about a month ago now, and I seem to still be dealing with lots of extra crap as I movve towards readuation and looking for a job and all of that kind of stuff. That being said, getting the zine done ontime and looking good is the top priority, and the blog here brings up the rear.
As usualy, Issue 25 featured 19 poets from across the country with a variety of styles.
Issue 16, which i just mailed today will be getting to you a little bit late, but hey, its on the way so thats good. Another 19 writer issue as usual. I would really like to expand it a bit in the futuer and make it something more like a 23 writer zine. This would mean adding one more full page (or 4 half pages). But time and money are usually and issue. I think thats all for now. please keep telling your friends about the zine, we really appriciate it!

TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY ISSUE #24
WOOOO. Happy birthday to BBP, it has been two full years now, and look how far we've come! I hope everyone is dfoing well out there in cyberland. If you havent sent us work in a while, please consider sending more work soon in the future, its nice to see familiar names in the mailbox. On that note, were oretty backlogged right now. I think I already have enough work for the next two issues! So, if this keeps up, we may increase the ammount of pages in the zine!
As you will soo find out, the cover of this issue was drawn by Mark Hudson of Evanston, IL. Thanks for all the other cover art submissions as well, I think we may have to make this aregulaar thing with special issues.
#24 Was also slightly larger than past issues, which is fitting because we seem to be growing in every other way as well. we had work from 21 people from across the country, and it was a good mix from new people and current subscribers.
Also, thanks for talking about BBP with your friends family and coworkers or what have you. I have heard from several people that the name is tarting to pick up some recognition out there!
Thats all for now I think.
See you next month!

hackers suck
So.
A friend from facebook pointed out that my account may have been hacked cause I was posting dumb blogs that were ads. I think I have fixed the problem, and I apologize to those of you who are dedicated to BBP. Hopefully this will never happen again.
