What'll I do
Current mood: blessed
Category: Music

..Boomp3.com
So recently I had a really big scare with my mom, not to worry everything is perfectly fine we lucked out but for a short while (that seemed like an eternity) we were all terrified. It was one of those timeless, surreal experiences when everything around you blurs and you just sort of get lost internally. Whenever stuff like this happens to me there's always a song playing in my head over and over again. This time it was "What'll I do" which ironically turned out to be my momma's favorite song. Weird huh? Or maybe not so weird. Anyway I promised her I'd cover it so here it goes. If any of you guys have a soft spot for your momma, don't go gettin' teary-eyed on me now. I apologize in advance for being so sappy but I'm proud to be a momma's girl HAHA!

It’s a blog emporium!
Current mood: chipper
Category: Blogging

So I have some cool stuff to let y'all know about....

Lions Gate's release "The Legend of Bloody Mary" and Asylum's "Death Racers" both came out on DVD this past Tuesday. I go from playing a goth chick that is given a very enjoyable telepathic orgasm by WWE wrestler Raven to a twitchy, traumatized patient pleasantly locked away in an mental institution. Both were not too much of a stretch for me. Apparently I just got word that Amazon.com is now carrying "OC Babes and the Slasher of Zombietown" and Lions Gate also released "Son of Sam" this week. Four movies, one week, not bad huh?

Yeehaw! You besta strap on them knee pads boys and girls! That's right the classy carny-banging trailer park queen Thumper Stain is being reactivated. Today I get to shoot more of the film "Crustacean". Then I'm immediately off to reunite with my lovely Momma for a much needed mini vacation in wine country. My plan is to live off the land, become a wino and perhaps never come home. I'm sure some of you are relieved at just the thought.

Upon my return (if there is one) at the beginning of next week I'll be shooting for a couple days on "His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th". Can't tell you too much accept that I will be acting in it and there are an abundance of horror icons attached.

On top of all that goodness, I was just added to sign alongside some fantastic people Tony Todd, Lloyd Kaufman, Brinke Stevens and Jeff Dylan Graham with Anchor Bay's release "Bryan Loves You". Why? You may ask since I'm technically not in the film… Well I'm on the commentary as the "hot girl" and for some strange, unfathomable reason they seem to like having me around? Plus if someone actually asks for my autograph, I promise to draw childish doodles of private parts. Click here for info

Lastly, Live Evil a film I am actually in along with Tim Thomerson, Ken Foree and Tiffany Shepis will be premiering at the El Portal Theater this Thursday the 25th at Valley film fest. Click here for info. Any press friends that would like to see the film just hit me up and I'll pass you along to someone who will get you on the guest list. Sorry for the blog bombardment and thank you for baring with me :)

PS: Thought it might excite you to know that I shaved my "kitty" (happy mom haha!) and she's really pissed! What? She had knots.

Cool stuff a brewin’
Current mood: rockin

..Boomp3.com

Hello there fellow myspacians, just wanted to let ya'all know I'm this months Fright Girl for Iconsoffright.com. Or if sentimental melodies are more your thang lend an ear to the little ditty I recorded last night. It started as an attempt to cheer up a family member but would probably have been more effective had I not chosen the most depressing song in history. Way to go Elissa! Actually it's a cover of a ridiculously over-covered tune but I figured you can't go wrong with Chaplin. Hope ya dig it :)

What are the odds?
Current mood: indescribable

I'm at an audition for a HBO episodic waiting for a hour and a half because there was a huge cattle call for the male role they were casting and they were really backed up. Finally it's my turn to go up and I begin to read the sides. Just as I spew out the line "The world is going to end" a 5.8 earthquake erupts, the casting director then grabs and pulls me into the doorway. After the room stopped shaking we went back, finished the read and he says "You rocked the house" in which I reply "You better cast me or I'll do it again". Then I exit into a room full of men still waiting their turn who all start clapping, I bow and exit. HAHA! My life is insane. Hope all you Californians are safe and sound, I'm an East Coast girl and we are not partial to this kinda stuff. Whether I'm cast or not, this whole thing makes one helluva story!

One Strange Dream
Current mood: artistic

I had a dream that was so lucid I can’t seem to shake it, maybe writing about it will get it out of my head. It was so real it seemed more like a flashback or a vision of the future. I could feel myself rising, leaving my body into darkness and sensed the presence of my loved ones around me but I couldn’t see them. Then a doctor revived me with defibrillator pads, I felt the jolt and was shocked back into my body. Those who have known me for a long time know that I was struck by lightning through the telephone at age ten. It was one of those bizarre, influential experiences that help form your identity. The lightning literally picked me up and threw me across the room like a rag doll. In this dream I felt the same weird sensation. Anyway if you’re still reading this you must be really bored lol.

That’s right boys and ghouls ElissaDowling.com is finally in full effect YAY!!! God that was a serious pain in me arse but please stop by and let me know if you have any technical issues. Also I loaded up a revised demo reel which includes a little snippet of a pet project I’ve been keeping really low key.... Decided it was time to record some music, just for fun. it’s very much in the vein of Poe/PJ Harvey/Sneaker Pimps. Hope ya dig it ;)

RIP Zoey :(
Current mood: sad

So yesterday morning my sweet doberman Zoey from back home lost her battle to cancer. It took some time to all sink in but now it's hitting me hard, I really miss spooning her and scratching her belly. Luckily last night I had a little healthy distraction with some good friends and of course some metal but it doesn't erase the fact that I will never see her again. I love animals so much but it's so hard to say goodbye sometimes, they don't live nearly long enough and they leave such an enormous impact on your life. Anyway this is getting depressing but this blog goes out to all the people that have lost an animal companion...
