APERTURE can now be viewed online! PLEASE RE-POST!!!

Hey everyone!
So I..m putting APERTURE up on myspace in a sort of episodic way for multiple reasons.
1. File size - APERTURE is 30 minutes long, and hard to compress down without making it look like complete crap...
2. I really think it works as a little episodic piece. Hopefully the people who havn..t seen it yet can enjoy the questions that arise in each section a little more if it is spread out.
We had a great time making this flick, and even with all of the things I would have done differently (or better) I..m still pretty proud of it.
If you find the first section a little slow, don..t worry - it gets more fast paced and way more interesting!

MESSIAH STRAND teaser and updated script excerpt

fade in
EXT FLOODED OUT MARDI GRAS FLOAT WAREHOUSE - DAWN
We open on a gravel lot and pan to reveal a large warehouse, one whole side of it blown off to reveal flooded out mardi gras floats still bright and surreal. The lot is littered with parts from the floats, large cartoonish heads, hands, etc.
Wide shot, and the sun is setting behind the warehouse. Gorgeous shot.
An extremely TALL MAN in a ratty overcoat enters the right frame. Crossing the gravel lot. He pauses middle frame, silhouetted by the sun. 2 large black wings dissolve from his back and outstretch. Creating an eerie surreal, and beautiful frame.
The tall man stretches the wings and his arms to the sky. Then lets them fall. The wings dissolve again and are no longer there.
The tall man begins to walk again to the old Warehouse.
INT OLD WAREHOUSE- CONT
Sheets of light pour in through holes in the warehouse room. We see the tall man walking through the flooded and shredded floats. Everything is dark and colorless.
He comes to a large metal door. He unlocks a padlock and pushes door open to reveal -
A room full of gold color. Iconic paintings depicting angels and devils and christ cover the walls. Alters line the walls with burning yellow candles and all sorts of religious nick nacks.
In the corner is an old iron bed frame covered with thick yellow straw. Mixed in are large feathers. It almost resembles a big birds nest.
On the wall is a large map of New Orleans with numerous tacks and notes attached to it. Next to it is a long list of names. All of them are marked out except the very last one.
The tall man marks that name off.
The tall man walks to an alter, picking up some prayer beads that are next to a human skull. He kisses the cross and blows out a candle.
He turns and strolls to the straw bed, and lies down in a fetal position.
fade to black.
TITLE SEQUENCE WITH OLD ..WOOD CUT.. PRINTS OF ANGELS, DEMONS, CHRIST.
Fade in
EXT BON TON TEMPS ROULE BAR - NIGHT
Police cars line the street and put up yellow caution tape around what appears to be a crime scene. people stand outside the tape trying to see what is going on.
INT BON TON TEMPS ROULE BAR - CONT
Police are buzzing around, CSI techs are collecting evidence. Detective Sam enters the scene. He is a large man with a lot of presence. Always sweating, Sam is the classic New Orleans detective.
As he walks through the scene, police are escorting a man out through the doors. He is handcuffed. Young guy, in a security uniform. Blood splattered across his shirt and face. He exchanges a long hard glance with SAM.
Detective Sam makes his way into the scene and grabs his partner, Detective Snitch, the small, nervous, brainy tech geek and gets the low down.
Detective Sam So what do we have tonight? More gangbangers?
Detective Snitch (pushing up his oversize glasses) Afraid not. Pretty sad scene actually.
Detective Sam (sarcastic & low) Aren't they all anymore?
Detective Snitch This one is pretty unique.
Detective Sam Unique?
They walk up to the corner of the room next to the poker machines. CSI techs stand and leave frame to REVEAL:
The body of a young beautiful woman in a white dress. She is shot in the chest and blood is everywhere. She is obviously dead.
Detective Sam (leaning down to the body) Man, what the fuck happened here?
Detective Snitch Boyfriend is a security guard. We got a statement from him before they took him outa here. FUll confession right here. Apparently our lady in white just wasn..t herself anymore. That's how he puts it. She... changed. Started going out to bars, staying out all night. Picking up strange guys - going home with -
Detective Sam Changed huh? Sounds typical.
Detective Snitch Don..t know Sam, That's all he kept sayin... She just wasn..t herself. He said it wasn..t like her to pull this kinda stuff. Personally, I think it..s classic. Boyfriend works too much, girl needs some attention, girl goes out and finds it. Boyfriend gets jealous, you know what I mean?
Detective Sam Boyfriend shoots girlfriend in front of dozens of witnesses. Thats pretty serious.
Snitch just shrugs. Detective Sam All right Snitch. Keep this movin. I gotta make a couple of calls.
INT OLD WAREHOUSE - GOLDEN ROOM - NIGHT The Tall man ( who we will now know as URIEL ) sleeps on his straw bed. A cell phone starts going off.
URIEL awakens and pulls a phone out of his coat and answers.
Uriel Yes.
Detective Sam (oc - on phone) I think I got one for ya.
Uriel Don..t play with me Sam. I..m not in the mood.
Detective Sam It..s a girl.
Uriel Whats the evidence?
Detective Sam Boyfriend said she started acting weird. Apparently pretty suddenly.
URIEL What are you getting to, Sam?
Detective Sam She changed enough that he just shot her at point blank in front of about two dozen people.
URIEL I don..t deal in jealous boyfriends, Sam. I deal in Redemption.
Detective Sam Cut the bullshit, Uriel. You tell me to call you when something like this comes up, and then you bust my chops. I don..t need this-
Uriel sits up. Uriel Did you res her?
Detective Sam Did I res her? I told you I don..t do that shit Uriel. It..s your job. Shit gives me nightmares. Plus, the body is still at the scene.
Uriel I..ll see you at the morgue.
INT NEW ORLEANS MORGUE - A LITTLE LATER
A guard at the door tries to stop Uriel, but Detective Sam sees this and motions him in.
Stark white room. The body of the girl lays on an autopsy table.
Uriel leans over the body.
Uriel Why am I here, Sam?
Detective Sam Boyfriend said she changed. She wasn..t the same anymore. Must have been significant if he shot her in a public place. You don..t see that shit happen anymore. The girls just disappear now. Or fall off of balconies and shit.
Uriel How long has she been half life?
Detective Sam Maybe 3 hours. Max.
Uriel. I..m going to resurrect her now.
Detective Sam seems un easy. He plops down on a stool and stares at the floor.
Uriel reaches over and opens the eyes of the girl. He leans in close, looking into her dead eyes.
A thin white mist snakes out of Uriels eyes and into the dead girls.
The room is silent for a moment, then:
Suddenly she gasps for air and jerks, falling off of the table. She backs herself into a corner under a sink.
Uriel walks slowly in her direction.
The girl looks up at him, with white dead eyes. Fear and confusion in her dead white eyes.
URIEL Who are you?
The dead girl becomes defiant. She smiles an evil smile and spits blood on the floor at his feet.
URIEL I..ll ask again. Who are you.
She begins to scream and thrash her arms around. Blood flying everywhere. Uriel leans down at her eye level and grabs her suddenly by the throat.
URIEL Tell me now. Who are you?
DEAD GIRL (smiling, sarcastic) I was so close. So close... fucking primates. I can never get past their jealousy.
Slamming her against the wall, violently.
URIEL Enough! Tell me now!
DEAD GIRL (pausing, smiling calmly) Uriel. You have lost your sense of humor. You used to be so jovial. I guess things change. Whats it been? A thousand years?
URIEL realizes who she is.
Uriel Raphaelle.
He slams her against the wall again and stands over her.
DEAD GIRL (Raphaelle) Don..t look so happy to see me.
URIEL Who sent you. Who sent you here?
Raphaelle starts to laugh. Hysterically. Then starts hacking up blood.
Uriel Why are you here?
She becomes quite.
Raphaelle You know Uriel. You led me here.
Uriel The strand is not here. I..ve been looking. We had false information, He is not here.
Raphaelle begins to laugh again, coughing up blood. She becomes serious.
Raphaelle I found the Messiah Strand. He is here. In New Orleans.
Uriel walks over to Detective Sam. And pulls his gun from his holster. He turns to Raphaelle.
Uriel Go back and tell Gabriel that seduction will not work.
Raphaelle You know better than that, Uriel.
Uriel Pauses. Then points the gun at Raphaelle.
Uriel Jealousy is one of the many virtues of the Devil.
Uriel fires, hitting her between the eyes, splattering blood on the white wall behind her. She slumps, twitching.
Uriel lowers the gun and walks out of the room. Leaving Sam staring at the body.
EXT SUNNY BEACH - DAY
We open on clouds as they pass quickly through the sky. The camera pans down to reveal Michael Benway. A 20 something, good looking business type walking through the sand. His footprints leaving a line to the horizon.
He stops to look out to the ocean. In the water there are dozens of men and women in business attire walking out into the ocean. A very surreal scene.
Michael is confused...
Two people walking out into the waves part to reveal Uriel. In a trench coat, coming out of the water toward the shore. As he reaches Michael two large black wings dissolve from his back and block out the sun, silhouetting him.
Michael falls back into the sand as Uriel towers over him...
Smash Cut
INT TELEMARKETING OFFICE - DAY
Michael awakes suddenly as Mary Rue shakes him... Mary is a pretty 20 something secretary type. A little on the conservative side, just waiting to bust out.
Michael, 30 years old, unshaven. Tired of his dead end life. Sits in a closed cubical, a little headpiece on his ear. He wipes the drool from his mouth and sits up...
Mary You know if the boss catches you sleeping again he..s going to fire you...
Michael I didn..t sleep last night. I had a rough evening...
People stand at the water cooler, looking over at Micheal..s cubicle with nervous curiosity.
Mary Ya, I heard. (she grows sympathetic) It must have been terrifying, Micheal.
Michael rubs his face...weary.
Mary I saw it on the news this morning. So tragic, ya know. How someone could be that jealous...
Michael I was the last person to talk to her, you know? She was hitting on me, even bought me a drink. I didn..t even get a chance to drink it before -
Mary Did the police question you?
Michael All night. I was at the station until 3am. (pause) I just can..t shake the idea that-
Mary crouches next to him and takes his hand.
Mary Don..t even say it, Michael. This thing was not your fault.
Michael I..d never even seen this girl before. She was so pretty. She seemed so sweet...so normal.
Mary Listen to me Michael. These sort of things happen everyday in the world. There's nothing any of us can do about it.
Michael gives her a long look...
MICHEAL But what if there is. What if I could have-
MARY Micheal...
Micheal It..s just... forget it.
MAry What? tell me...
Michael I..ve been having these weird dreams...
Mary What are you talking about?
Michael Never mind...
INT OLD STYLE DINER - NIGHT
Smash cut to a plate landing on a metallic diner table. Runny eggs, sausage, hash browns, toast. A cup of coffee. Detective Sam begins to dig in. Cutting up the runny eggs.
Another plate lands - cereal - chopped bananas. Orange Juice.
Uriel sits across from Sam.
The waitress lingers, staring at Uriel a minute. then walks off. Sam turns to check out her ass as she walks off.
Uriel Do you have any new information?
Sam Ya I think so... Bartender says she was hitting on some guy when her man blew her away. They brought him in for questioning.
Uriel It can..t be that easy. Could he be the strand?
Sam That..s your area of expertise, but I..m saying no. Regular guy. 30, hates his office job, lives alone. Nothing special about him.
Sam pulls out a little flask and pours some spirits into his coffee. He takes a long pull.
URIEL You need to stop that.
Sam After that little scene last night, I..m entitled.
Uriel Do you have his information?
Sam reaches into his pocket and pulls out a manilla envelope. He slides it across the table.
Uriel takes it and stands.
Sam What, your not gonna eat?
Uriel doesn..t even answer, he keeps walking to the door.
Sam What? And I have to pay for it too?
The diner door closes behind him.
EXT BON TON TEMPS ROULE BAR - EVENING
Michael stands across the street from the bar. It..s open again and people come in and out like nothing ever happened there. A crowd of people come out and disperse, among them is -
The dead girl, all bloody. She stops and stares at Michael...
He pauses, closes his eyes. Wipes his face. He looks back and she is gone.
INT HALLWAY OF MICHAEL'S APARTMENT - A LITTLE LATER
Michael walks up steps into his apartment building. He goes to his door and starts to put in the key. The door is cracked. Reluctantly Michael enters...
INT MICHAEL'S APARTMENT - CONT
Michael makes his way around the hallway into his living room. He grabs a baseball bat from a corner.
As he comes around the corner reveal -
SUCCUBUS, a small man with crazy hair, shabby clothes. Going through some papers on Micheals counter. When he see..s Michael he takes off running across the room and jumps right through the window. Shattering glass flies everywhere.
Michael runs to the window and looks down into the alley way below. Succubus stands there looking up and takes off running.
Michael is blown away. Frantic, he fumbles through his pockets for his cell phone. He finds it and dials 911.
Michael I think I..ve got an emergency...
Fade to black
INT POLICE INTERROGATION ROOM - A LITTLE LATER
A random detective is questioning Micheal about the incident.
Detective Let me get this straight...Your telling me he jumped out of a 4th floor window, then took off running?
Micheal doesn..t answer, he just sits with his head in his hands.
The door opens behind and Detective Sam walks in. He motions for the detective to come out into the hallway.
INT POLICE OFFICE HALLWAY - CONT
Sam questions the detective.
Sam So what's so important, I had to drop everything and come down here?
Detective It..s the guy they brought in from last nights homicide. It..s the guy that poor girl was with.
Sam Ya? The report doesn..t say anything about him being ..with.. her last night.
Detective All right. But this is serious. He says some guy broke into his place tonight. And he caught him. Here..s the kicker. He says when the intruder saw him, he jumped through a 4th floor window.
Sam Ok, so we got another stiff?
Detective That..s the thing. Our man here says The guy got up and ran away.
Sam gets serious. He knows this is big.
Sam Listen to me, no one knows about this. You got it? The guys probably got a case of post traumatic stress shit. He doesn..t need a bunch of media showin up on his doorstep tomorrow pokin and prodin him.
Detective But Sam, this is some weird shit...
Sam puts his hand on his shoulder.
Sam Trust me here... no one. Ya got me? No one.
The detective reluctantly agrees with a nod...
As the detective walks away, Sam pulls out his cell phone and dials...
Sam Uriel... I..ve got him.
He closes his phone and stares through the interrogation room window, Micheal sits confused.
Fade out.

NEW PROJECTS
So in the midst of shooting commercials and editing, I've been writing a new short film called "TAPE." About an online predator story with some pretty messed up twists.
Wylie and I have almost finished a script for a new comedy in the vein of 'The Jesus & Charlie Show." It's called "BATMAN BOBBY." I can't really give too much away, but yes it is is a BATMAN short film... sort of...
I'll be posting a teaser for "The Messiah Strand with an updated version of the beginning of the script. I'm currently seeking out investors for the film, hopefully to shoot later this year...

A new crossroads...
Somthing is cracking on the surface of my skin. Pores dried up from pretending to be someone for to long. Too long spent living in the shadows of my former expectations.
Dust shoots from my eyes and the years of decay blast out of me in glorious, ruined shards. Reflecting the light of some recognition of who I once was or what I wanted to accomplish.
Electric sparks and I feel myself coming back to life for a brief moment. Metal strings vibrate and I can see salvation on the horizon once again.
My chest cracks open and I pull it apart to let the light shine through. I will tear my face away and let myself out once again...
A year after the crossroads that have left us all expecting a little too much from the wounded. A year so numb I can't remember most of it. Black nights and confused emotions...
The wind falls from my hands and sweeps my dusty world away again.
A polished slate opens up and the white world of paper and tape and keys and notes and endless possibilities once again...

Now I must Go...
Now as I sit here down with my pen. No fear in my eyes this is the end. No reason for living. No feeling inside. The days go uncounted the times I have cried. My candle is fading no place left to go. I pray that my time here gave someone some hope. For years I've been sitting so now I must fly. And though I am leaving I won't say goodbye. I hope that I'll see you in Heaven someday. I hope you'll forgive me but now I must say... How much I have loved you I want you to know How much I will miss you But now I must go...
