SwampDaWamp on BlogTalkRadio! Listen to their live performance!
Current mood: silly

I am so pleased to let you know the interview with SwampDaWamp was amazing! All of the members were there except Mike. Unfortunately he was having some wifi issues. We laughed so hard our cheeks hurt by the end of the show. The BEST thing though was they surprised me with an impromptu live version of "Little Pill Called Truth".
On the heels of their successful debut CD, this year will bring the release of the band's much-anticipated sophomore effort, SWAMPDAWAMP 2.0, which is scheduled for Summer 2008. SWAMPDAWAMP 2.0 will be carried in stores and available for digital download at all major online retailers.
Please check out the archive of this talented band brought to you by Nikki Starr. You can click below to listen...

In Memoriam of Steve Bayne
Current mood: sad

We are very sorry to hear that one of our esteemed hosts, Steve Bayne of The esteBAM Show, has passed away.
..Many of us were listeners of the show, where esteBAM interviewed celebrity guests and always had a great time.
Steve was a pleasure to work with and have on the network. He was professional, energetic, and infallibly positive. I'm sure many of his listeners and online friends did not even know about his illness.
Here is an excerpt from a testimonial Steve sent us on May 6th about his experience with BlogTalkRadio:
I am forever grateful to Blog Talk Radio for giving me an outlet to let my talents shine. I am not sure if the creators realize what this platform can do for people, it has truly changed my life. Yeah it may sound weird what I am saying, but when you feel you have lost everything you once stood for and felt like the end was nearing and have an outlet to turn too such as Blog Talk you may then understand what I am saying.
Thank you Blog Talk Radio and all of the staff for being there to help me and creating such a wonderful environment to broadcast my show every week. With you guys I may have not been able to pull myself back to the happy go lucky person I once was before getting sick. I will forever be grateful for to you as a company that stands behind their hosts; there are other sites out there that do not do that for their hosts.
Steve thoroughly enjoyed being a BlogTalkRadio host, and we enjoyed having him around. Even through his most difficult times, Steve did not complain. He would e-mail me with excitement every time he booked a hot new guest, and always thanked us when he was featured.
The BlogTalkRadio community will miss Steve very much, and our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

..The Smithsonian Channel and Showtime will celebrate the heroism of the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces this Memorial Day by airing two award-winning documentaries from the Smithsonian Channel, including REMEMBERING VIETNAM: THE WALL AT 25.
Today on BlogTalkRadio get a preview of the documentary, which goes back in time to tell the story of the memorial through the eyes of those who conceived it, those who were instrumental in pushing it through bureaucratic and political resistance, those intimately involved with its 25-year history, and those it honors. Above all, the documentary tells the story of a place that is more than a memorial - - it is a place where old wounds are healed.
The documentary will air on the Smithsonian Channel as part of a special weekend of programming on Smithsonian Channel throughout Memorial Day Weekend, May 23-26.

BlogTalkRadio on NBC TV, Post Show Discussion Continues on BlogTalkRadio
WNBC's technology reporter Sree Sreenivasan reviewed BlogTalkRadio during his Tech Report this morning on WNBC.
His entire review was posted on the WNBC.com site and the video can be seen below:
Immediately following his WNBC broadcast, Sreenivasan hosted a special interactive talk show entitled "Tech Chat with WNBC Viewers"on his own BlogTalkRadio show, Sree Tips, to discuss the BlogTalkRadio platform, as well as new and emerging technology trends.
This is the first use of BlogTalkRadio as an interactive tool with the television medium. BlogTalkRadio has extended major U.S. Newspaper articles with live interactive call-in shows between author, source and the larger community, but this is the first major television venture.

An Emmy-Award winning journalist, Franken gained notable recognition as a news reporter at WJW-TV, then a CBS-TV affiliate in Cleveland,OH. Franken reported on the great blizzards of 1977 and 1978 there, the financial default of the city, the desegregation of the Cleveland Public Schools ruling by late U.S. District Court Judge Frank J. When I was growing up in Seaford, Long Island my dad was in the dry cleaning business. He and my uncle owned a few dry cleaning stores located in Manhattan. The store my dad spent most of his time (and life) at was just adjacent to Lincoln Center on W. 64th in Manhattan.
During my adolescent years, I used to take the train from our house in long island to help my dad out in his store. I would sweep up, tag and bag clothes and my favorite job…..delivering the dry cleaning. In those days, getting a dollar or two dollar tip from the wealthy NYC customers was big stuff, especially for a 14 year old kid in the 70’s.
ABC TV studios was located adjacent to the apartment building where my dad’s store was located. Some of his customers were Sam Donaldson, Geraldo Rivera, Barbara Walters and many other ABC personalities. If I was lucky enough I used to deliver dry cleaning to some of these TV personalities. It was exciting stuff!!
Yesterday, with great help from Marisol at Middleberg Communications, our excellent PR agency, we were able to secure a TV spot on ABC News Now called Money Matters for BlogTalkRadio (video below):
Host and BlogTalkRadio fitness director Peter K joined me on the 5 minute piece. I was pleased with how the clip came out and as a follower of BlogTalkRadio, you will notice that the anchor on the broadcast sounds just like the British lady which proceeds every one of our broadcasts.
.. So I here I was standing outside my father’s dry cleaning store just having been broadcast on a major TV network, the network where I used to deliver dry cleaning. This is the first time I had seen my dad’s store in perhaps 20 years. Of course, I had to pop my head into the store and tell the non English speaking Korean owners that 30 years ago my dad owned this store. They had no clue what I was talking about, but they did smile a lot.
Peter took this picture of me in front of Lincoln Plaza Valet. I felt my dad everywhere yesterday afternoon. As I looked around the store, as I walked into the ABC building and as I sat in front of the camera answering the question…"What inspired you to create BlogTalkRadio?"
BeingJohnSweet announces Virtual Book Tour

From the desk of John Sweet:
Most know me as your Host Liaison Director, but there is another side to me for sure. I have been writing for over 20 years with 8 published book to date, and I have just released my first personal anthology of work titled:
The Evolution of: beingjohnsweet. Here is the introduction to my book.
John Sweet lives in Lansing, Michigan. Thirty-nine years old; John is the father to Forrest Everett-Emerson Sweet, who is 9 years old, Forrest was the driving force behind Johns idea to compile his work together in one book; what better gift to a son then the legacy of his fathers mind to read and remember him as he was in the life they shared. From the first page to the last you will wander with John; purposeful, carefully, recklessly, lovingly and dreamy. The dharma notes you will find linger on many of the stanzas; much like how the dharma lies 6 feet under the brambles, dig deep enough and you will find what you are seeking. Listen carefully as your very own sage offers to you words that can bring forth a smile, a frown, a bellow and a gasp.
John Sweet is pleased to present to you; The Evolution of: beingjohnsweet.
I have also just released: Drum Beat Down: purported and proposed in perdition. This book encompasses more of my lyrical, darker works and shows yet another side of the poet I am.
Please email me if you are interested in having me as guest. I am looking to do a book tour of all the writing shows on the BlogTalkRadio network. I also can give a few books away to your listeners.
