New White Rabbit Calendar

Just got in from the printers the new Little White Rabbit calendar! It turned out great, glossy, colorful, full of rabbity goodness! I got the idea when I looked for a unique, artistic full size 12 month wall calendar last year on Etsy, and FAILED to find one. I was disappointed to say the least.  SO this year I made my own... I hope it is well recieved.

YES, I am still working on the bunny book! It's been difficult to find time to sit down and make it presentable. I hope to find a good publisher (and editor) to help get this puppy in print. It is really cute, and the stories basically narrate the paintings I made this year, BUT I really can't even let anyone look at it until I think it is close to being "done", and what can I say, I am a bit of a perfectionist about anything I make, with the exception of pancakes.

Art and Exhaustion

Many of you know me through me art, hi, how are you! I am glad I can share it all with you! But what you may not know is  I also have a day job to pay the bills, sad but true. I like my job, I have had it a long time now, and I like the people I work for and what they do. But when I do my art work and my day work I can sometimes hit the wall pretty hard. I have more ideas in my head than I have time to create, and sometimes I get overwhelmed. It happens, I'm human.

Many good things have happened reccently that I am excited about. One of my bunny paintings is going to be on the cover of Cardaddix magazine- http://www.aceomagazine.com/. I have finished the rough draft of the children's book about the little white rabbit. I reopened my cafepress store so people can get more bunny teeshirts- http://www.cafepress.com/bluedogrose. And I have somehow managed to paint and sculpt and walk my dogs almost every day. But boy am I tired! I can see that wall looming up ahead.

Like many blogs, there is really no point to this particular entry, just relating what is at the top of my head at the moment. I hope everyone has a great Friday the 13th!

New Videos

I have been experimenting with my new camera, making short videos of how I work since so many are interested. You can see my latest on you tube:

The amount of work I have been doing has been growing exponentially to the amount of time I don't have. If I was clever (and had more time) I could make you a graph, (amount of time x amount of work) but for now you will just have to imagine a growing blue line across a grid.

In the works: new sculpture, new paintings, THE BOOK (yes, I am still writing it), several cd releases (Vertebrae and MSS which I am playing a small part to bring into the world), new videos and projects I don't even have time to describe at the moment because they are mere infants in the imagination.

Stay tuned, I will try to update my various sites as time permits.

More Art

I just sent some new sculpture to Frank and Dunya in Seattle, and am busy working on several projects at the same time. The new LWR story is expanding to the point I'm not sure if it will be one book, a book full of stories, or several books. I just need time to  work on it, which I have so little of these days. I hope we have snow, and so much of it I am unable to leave the house and am forced to stay in mystudio so I can make some progress.
I just sold my 1000th item on Etsy.com, yay for breaking into 4 digits! Thank you everyone for your support, it means a lot, and some day, maybe it will mean not having to go to my day job to pay the bills.
Hope for lots of snow!

Show in August! Suburbia Coffee

Rabbits

Painting lots of rabbits. Lots and lots. I am having so much fun, but I don't want to be just known as the rabbit painter, really. I have a show coming up at Suburbia coffee in Kent, WA. in August. Rabbit paintings, yup.

I had made some buttons and magnets of my bunny art, you can see them at my etsy shop bluedogrose.etsy.com and postcards, yay.

I am really enjoying my rediscovered watercolors, it's much more instant gratification than painting with oil paints, although I have several ideas that will only work in oil. My poor garden if a mass of weeds at the moment, all this painting leaves no time to deal with all the new gowth. Somehow, the flowers still bloom, so I can't complain. I hope to play with concrete once it stops raining so much too, either sculpture or a pathway/spillway/pond extension. Not enough hours in the day as usual, yes.

Etsy

I have been steadily posting new artwork for sale on my etsy site which has left very little time to do things like update blogs and  such. Almost every day if I can manage it, I have been very productive in my new studio.

Happy New Year

I am now making and selling a lot of my art here
http://www.bluedogrose.etsy.com. which leaves very little time for much else.
I have been painting a series of rabbits and making lots of bird sculptures. This week we had 6" of snow to play in as well, the dogs love chancing eachother through the white stuff. It's hard to work in my studio when it is so cold though.
