Tell Tale Signs Available Today!
Columbia Records is happy to announce today's release of Bob Dylan's "Tell Tale Signs: The Bootleg Series Vol. 8".
"...Tell Tale Signs is less an anthology than an album in its own right," writes Mikal Gilmore in Rolling Stone. "It seems designed to tell a story that sharpens and expands the vista of mortal and cultural disintegration that has been the chief theme of 1997's Time Out of Mind, 2001's 'Love and Theft', and 2006's Modern Times – perhaps the most daring music he's ever made. Tell Tale Signs makes plain that Dylan knows the caprices of the world he lives in, now more than ever."
You can pick it up from iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Napster, or your local record store.

"...Tell Tale Signs is less an anthology than an album in its own right. It seems designed to tell a story that sharpens and expands the vista of mortal and cultural disintegration that has been the chief theme of 1997's Time Out of Mind, 2001's Love and Theft, and 2006's Modern Times - perhaps the most daring music he's ever made. Tell Tale Signs makes plain that Dylan knows the caprices of the world he lives in, now more than ever." --Mikal Gilmore, Rolling Stone
Tell Tale Signs is the 8th installment in Dylan's "Bootleg Series," and features previously unreleased recordings, live performances and alternate versions of songs recorded during sessions for some of his most acclaimed albums, Oh Mercy and Time Out of Mind among them. Also included on the album are Dylan's recordings for the soundtracks of the films Lucky You, Gods & Generals and North Country, and "32-20 Blues," his first ever release of a Robert Johnson song.

We know we've been sending you a lot of emails lately. And we certainly don't want to clog up your inbox. It's just that there's been so much activity recently. So we thought we'd put a bunch of upcoming projects together in one email and try to avoid your junk filter.
In addition to the recently released definitive career-spanning CD collection, DYLAN, comes two spectacular films - the long-awaited release of Live At Newport 1963-1965 on DVD, and the theatrical debut of the Todd-Haynes-directed Biopic, I'm Not There which covers the life and career of Bob Dylan with a vivid soundtrack of Bob Dylan covers done by some of today's most celebrated artists.
The Other Side of The Mirror
Bob Dylan aficionados have been clamoring for more footage from Bob Dylan's performances during the Newport Folk Festival 1963-1965 and their wishes are going to be answered with the arrival of the new DVD The Other Side Of The Mirror - Bob Dylan Live At The Newport Folk Festival 1963 - 1965.
Produced and directed by Academy Award winner Murray Lerner, The Other Side Of The Mirror - Bob Dylan Live At The Newport Folk Festival 1963 - 1965 opens a window into a critical epoch in American cultural history as reflected in the musical transformations of Bob Dylan's galvanizing watershed performances at the Newport Folk Festival in 1963, 1964, and 1965. With more than 80 minutes of exquisitely filmed performances, (70% available for the first time), fans will have a front row seat in watching the musical transformations of Bob Dylan during his seminal years.
The film provides fans with a very intimate look into one of Bob Dylan's most coveted performances and the DVD also includes liner notes from Grammy-winning author Tom Piazza.
You can order the DVD here.
The Theatrical Debut of I'm Not There and Its Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
Then prepare for a Bob Dylan experience like never before. Only in theaters November 21, I'm Not There is an unconventional journey into the life and times of Bob Dylan. Six actors portray Dylan as a series of shifting personae — from the public to the private to the fantastical — weaving together a rich and colorful portrait of this ever-elusive American icon. The six actors portraying Dylan (Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Marcus Carl Franklin, Richard Gere, Heath Leadger, and Ben Whishaw) along with support from Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and comedian David Cross, each give an incredible performance and really provide a great homage to Dylan's influence not just on music but on pop culture itself. http://www.imnotthere-movie.com/

You can also catch a sneak peak at the music featured in the movie with the newly-released, vivid soundtrack.
The 34-track, Double-CD (as well as an available 4-Piece Vinyl) soundtrack to I'm Not There premieres new interpretations of Bob Dylan songs performed by an eclectic cavalcade of acclaimed and celebrated artists including:

Many of the album's performances even include backing from the Million Dollar Bashers, an ensemble created just for the I'm Not There Original Soundtrack by Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo, which features Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley, Television guitarist Tom Verlaine, Wilco bassist Nels Cline, guitarist Smokey Hormel, keyboardist John Medeski and long-time Bob Dylan band bassist Tony Garnier. Other tracks on the album feature the amazing alternative-country band Calexico backing up artists Jim James, Iron & Wine, Roger McGuinn, and Willie Nelson.

Visions of Dylan!!
'VISIONS OF DYLAN' A unique collection of photographs inspired by Bob Dylan
To celebrate the worldwide release of the 'DYLAN' retrospective album on 1st October 2007, an exhibition of photographs has been commissioned by a very select group of fans from the worlds of music, film, fashion and art including Ronnie Wood, Patti Smith, Bryan Adams, Tracey Emin, Sam Taylor-Wood, Kate Nash, and Lily Cole. Curated by Suzanne Bisset, in cooperation with Sony cameras, the 'Visions Of Dylan' show will be exhibited at The Hospital in Covent Garden, online for two weeks (www.dylan07.com) and then the prints will be auctioned with 100% of all profits going to WAR Child; Bob Dylan's preferred charity.
The photographs in the show illustrate what the music of Dylan personally means to each of the contributors – how they've connected with a particular song, the first time Dylan's music came into their life that has always remained with them, or an interpretation of their favourite song in a picture. Each picture is an individual interpretation.
The exhibition will launch at The Hospital,Monday 1st October, with contributors in attendance. Explaining why she got involved in the exhibition, Tracey Emin said: "I have been listening to Bob Dylan since I was a little girl. As a kid I would sit on the floor cross-legged, screaming out the lyrics...
That's the story of a hurricane? I'd like to spend some time in the sunny skies are aqua blue?
…I think as a twelve year old, to be listening to Bob Dylan, enjoying and understanding the lyrics, I would without doubt say that it had a major influence on me to be an artist, to be affected by something real and meaningful."
Sadie Frost took inspiration for her photographs from the titles of two Dylan songs, I Want You and It's All Over Now Baby Blue. She explains her choice; "When I was 19 and had met a beautiful boy, I Want You is the song we played together… it reminds me of youth and passion… exciting times. It's All Over Now Baby Blue reminds me of breaking up… the last embrace… when you both know its over but you're still there!"
In addition to viewing the exhibition Visions Of Dylan online at dylan07.com, fans will also have the opportunity to contribute their own photographic images, inspired by Bob Dylan. The winner, chosen by one of the celebrity photographers, will receive a Sony digital camera and the chance to have his or her own photograph included in the exhibit.
All of the contributors were each given a Sony (pronounced alpha) digital SLR camera – the A100; a camera that combines superb picture quality with impressive but simple to use functions. Sony is the ideal camera brand for those who want to create inspiring and creative pictures, and take their photography on to the next level.
'DYLAN', released worldwide on 1st October via Columbia Records, is the definitive Bob Dylan collection chronicling the artist's four decades of groundbreaking studio recordings, as well as his unparalleled influence on popular music and culture.
