California, Will Ferrel, and New Songs

hey everyone!!!!

Hope everyone is doin great!!! I just wanted to write u guys and catch u up on all the latest! :-)

Kristy and I just got back from California and few days ago, and let me tell you...what a few days we had lol. We got into L.A last friday and had a few meetings, than went to dinner with Gren(she is abby’s our booking agents sister) at the Pink taco. Sounds kinda dirty lol...but it was really good. And i read about it in Us weekly all the time...sorry to report tho, no celebrity sightings...darn it! :-) After dinner we made the 3 hour road trip up to San Louis Obisbo.

Saturday morning we were up bright and early to start the Cowgirl Tuff photo shoot. Ok seriously, you need to see these clothes! They are amazing. We modeled them for the fall line, and i wanted to steal everything...the belts are incredible. And they have the best jeans. They compete with my true religions...they are THAT good!

We started off the shoot in this barn out in the middle of the country..it was so beautiful and so peaceful. Than we ended day one by shooting down at the beach about 10 miles away. They brought the most amazing quarter horses out and we got to ride them along the beach. It was so incredible. I mean thats something everybody dreams of, getting to ride horseback along the water. And it was so great to see Kristy that happy. She grew up around horses and she is so natural on them. Me not so much, thank god i had an amazing horse named Cash who was very easy with me. He was amazing.

On sunday morning we woke up and had easter breakfast at Amanda’s parents house. (for those of you who don’t know amanda, she is the amazing photographer who does all of our photos...check her out on our top friends) Than we got ready for day 2 of the shoot. We were going to shoot with horses at sun down. This time we had arab horses, who also happened to be rescue horses. It was so incredible to see them...they were so beautiful,and so kind considering their past experiences. Thank god for people like Marlene who take them in and nurture them back to health. Now, for my own peace of mind i wanted to ride my horse around for a little bit so we could get comfortable with each other. I rode indy for about a good 20 minutes. Than I am not sure if she got spooked or if I tapped her a little to tight but she took off, and as i pulled back on the reigns i pulled to hard and her instinct was to buck. Now, before i loose all my cowgirl cred...know i stayed on for a good 6 seconds before i came off. lol. Needless to say we had to cancel the shoot and i spend the rest of my sunday in the ER. Ok and really...when did every male nurse become so flippin cute?!?!!? Of course...just my luck huh?! lol. They had to cut my clothes off, and through everything i was feeling all i could think of was.."thank god i shaved my legs this morning." haha.
Everyone that worked there was so nice to us tho, and they treated me excellent. And now worries on my end...i was just fine. I have a compressed fracture on my T11 vertebrae, and it should heal relatively fast. A week later, I am feeling better already.:-) And Indy(the horse) is doing just fine as well. She is an amazing horse that was just doing what she was told. sorry indy :-( Oh, and check back for the video...chuck made sure to get the hospital visit on tape. ha

The next day we made our way back to L.A, and had a meeting with Marty Krofft. He is the creator of H.R Puff n Stuff and Land of the Lost. He is the nicest man in Hollywood...no lie. Marty is re-creating Land of the Lost into a movie that will be out next summer. 7-17-09 to be exact!! :-) Well, he was nice enough to show us around the lot and show us some of the sets that were getting built. Well, Kristy and I were like 2 kids in a candy store. It was so amazing to see how everything gets built, and created. OH!! and get this! So, Marty was nice enough to invite us to where they were filming. So, on Tuesday we got to go to the La Brea tar pits, and watch them film the beginning of the movie. Than to top it all of...we got to meet non other than Will Ferrel! Oh...my...GOD!!!!! Kristy and I were a little star struck...im not gonna lie. It took everything in us not to go up to him and be like...SHAKE AND BAKE BABY SHAKE AND BAKE! hahahaha. But really...he was sooooooo nice. He is very personable and so great to everyone around him. We’re still just shaking with excitement about the whole thing.

Sadly, that night we had to leave though. But good news is we will be back there at the end of them month, and even better news we got to come home and mix 2 more songs! :-) Can’t wait for you guys to hear them, and we’re excited to hear what you think. My parents and Grandma came in thursday and Kristys mom came in Friday, and it was really cool for Kristy and I to have our parents there while we were mixing. Its always nice to have them be apart of something so important to us. They love the songs...but of course they’re bias. :-)

Ok...I must run now, gotta go order my cupcakes for my bday!!! The big 20. No longer a teenager...kinda sad :-(. But its going to be an amazing year and i cant wait to get it started! Well we love you guys soooo much, and cant wait to see you on the road this summer!

hey guys!!!
so, today has literally been the coolest day ever!!! i can hardly sit still. Well, first of off we got an email this morning to see if in may we wanted to go to Fort Knox in Kentucky and Tandom Jump with the military guys up there! um.....DUH! we are so excited. I am deathly afraid of heights, but it is one of those things i know i will regret if i dont do. My mom of course if freaking out...but i was the least problem child, its time i do something daring! lol she'll kill me for saying that. I love you mama if ur reading this!!! :-) haha.
Than, we got the call that we are opening for Wynonna in Kristy's home town. We are both pretty excited but Kristy is just beside herself on that one. Wy is her idol...AND its in her home town. I am so excited for her. It's going to be a great show.
Ok...and than this call came....WE'RE GOING TO SWITZERLAND!!!!!! i am soooo flippin excited its ridiculous!!!! We go in September and we'll be there for about a week. We're gooin over with Clint Black and Ricky Skaggs. We are so fortunate. :-) and the boys in our band are flipping out!!! They are just as excited as we are. Its mine and our guitar player mitchells first time over seas and we can't wait!!!!
I know this is going to sound so cheesy, but anyone who is reading this that has a dream, please stick to it. It is amazing what hard work and love for something can do. I never would imagine i would be getting paid to go to switzerland and do what i love. I am sooo lucky. And thank you guys so much because if it wasnt for your support none of this would be happening!
Ok...i must get back to laundry. Yagulli is gonna be here soon to pick us up for Cincinnati and neither one of us are even close to being packed!!! haha...he wont be happy ;-).

Hey everyone!!!!

Well, you officially are the first to hear the new single! I can't believe it. I have to say it is nice to have it out there, but i will admit that i was really nervous. Kristy and I have worked so hard on making the best music we possibly can, and every second we have spent writing and in the studio we have had all of you on our minds! Hoping that you embrace it and get something out of it the way we have.
I am so happy that we decided to go with "Just This Way" as the first single. It is just a song that makes me happy, and it reminds me of summer. Its also really relevant to where I am in my life. No, I do not have a special someone lol(well other than my new son beau)....but thats the great thing about music...it can be taken in so many different directions. To me "Just This Way" is about loving where you're at in life and accepting it for what it is, no matter how simple it may be. It is my music, and my relationships with my friends and family. No matter where this crazy ride is gonna take us, my love for both those things will always remain the same...or just this way! hahaha lol.

These past couple of months have been the best months of my life, and i say that with the upmost honesty. I have go to see places I have never seen, meet amazing people, write songs that we believe in, and than get to share them with you. And on top of all that I have got to share it all with my best friend!! Working with Kristy has just been so unbelievably amazing. This girl does not give herself enough credit. She plays every instrument out there and she writes killer songs. I have learned so much from her...not just in music, but life in general. She has the most amazing soul out of anyone I have ever met, and it is so completely genuine. I am her biggest fan...and yes Kristy's mom and sister I will fight you on that one! ;-)

So, now we are getting ready for out trip to Detroit, and we are sooo excited! It is the place that Kristy and I first met. It will be so cool to see our fan bases join and come together to celebrate the birth of a brand new bomshel!

Thank you guys again, for being so supportive of Kristy and myself, and loving us and our music through all the changes this past year. It really is true what they say...sometimes good things fall apart so even better things can fall together!
I feel so blessed and so lucky to be apart of something so amazing, and i am so happy to have you all to share it with! Y'all are definetly the true bomshels!!! :-)

Kelley has a new boyfriend Bo... (my dog) When she first moved out here, he was still a "mama's bo" But then! Kelley started letting him sleep with her... and let me tell you! It's all over! When I tell him to get off the couch, he looks at me like I'm crazy. Oh! And heaven forbid! I gave him a bath yesterday! And he just sat there looking up at me completely disgusted... like, "my NEW mommy would NEVER pour water all over me!" :)


This week is CRS for us, and then we are heading up TO MICHIGAN!!!! WOOO HOO!!!! I am so excited to see everyone! CRS, (country radio seminar) is pretty much one of the biggest weeks in country music. It is where almost every radio station comes to Nashville to catch up on the industry news,,,, and well... let's be honest. It's a week long PARTY!! I am so excited to see all of my radio friends coming into town. It is pretty incredible how many wonderful people I have been able to meet during all of our travels.


This past weekend we spent mixing our single, and I have to tell everyone,,,, I have NEVER had as much fun in the studio as I have making music with Kelley. This has been an experience of a lifetime,,, and if I go out tomorrow.... I will GO OUT HAPPY:) These are the songs that we have written, arranged, and recorded in a way that I have been DREAMING of making music! I can't even begin to describe the excitement that comes from making a product that is created out of so much love. Kelley is by far the greatest singer I have ever gone into a studio with, OH WAIT! And she's my best friend! We are heading out to Las Angeles in a couple of weeks to do a photo shoot,,, and possibly a video...(keep your fingers crossed). Please keep in touch... we absolutely LOVE hearing from everyone! We are both MYSPACE junkies... and Kelley is even expanding her horizons to faceBOOK... uh oh!!!

hey everybody!!! so we have been hard at work in the studio recording our record, and as of tomorrow evening we will be debuting our first single "Just This Way" right here on myspace!! :-) We cant wait to get everyones thoughts and opinions on it! We are soo excited, we love it! It was written by ourselves and our good friend and amazing songwriter...Bob "professor bob" Reagan!

HEY FROM INDIANAPOLIS!

HEY FROM INDIANAPOLIS!
hey everybody! HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!!



So Kristy and I are in Indianapolis for our 3rd stop one the "Autorama" tour. We honestly, are just having the best time! The great thing about these shows is we come in a day early to do promotion, and in between we actually get to see the cities we are in. We make sure to see everything, and pretty much eat everything that the city were in is known for lol.

Today was a busy, but fun day. Our day started out at 6, yes 6 am lol. We went over to the fair grounds where they are holding the car show and did the local news, and than went over to Hank Fm, and did an interview with Cooter!!! For anyone who doesnt know who Cooter is, he was the mechanic on the original "Dukes Of Hazzard." He is also appearing at the car show this weekend, and he is soooooooo funny! And, well anytime Kristy and I can say the word cooter on live radio, its a good day! :-) ha. After that we went over to a place called Joys House. It is a adult day care center. Let me just tell you it was one of the coolest things we have gotten to do. We sang for them, and they were all so sweet and sooo cute, they all clapped and danced and sang along. It was really great to be apart of their day.

After Joy House we got in the car to head back to the hotel, and what do u know...Hank fm was playin our song on the radio that we had sang earlier when we were there! WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing! was the first time i had ever heard myself on the radio and for kristy it was the first time as a duo we had heard ourselves on the radio. We started screaming and we turned it up full blast and called our moms!!! It is surely a moment i am never EVER going to forget!

Well, I guess i should be gettin to bed, i just wanted to make sure that i caught y'all up! Oh and Kristy says hi, and she loves you guys and she promises to write soon! We cant wait to see yall out on the road! This summer is going to be a blaaaaast!!!!

WE’RE AT THE SUPERDOME!!!!!!!!

hey everyone!!!!!

So, Kristy and I are in New Orleans right now for the World of Wheels show at the Superdome!!!!!!!!! We got in last night, and Mike the owner of Tequila Rose took us over to see it before it opens to the public, and he let us see our stage. Kristy and I were freaking out!!!! It was the coolest thing in the entire world! I mean really...the superdome!!!! Who gets to do that?!?!?!!? lol. It is truly amazing.

After that, we went to dinner at "Oceanas." If you ever have the chance to come to New Orleans...u have to go there. It is the most amazing food! Kristy and I ate ourselves into a food coma!! The food was just so flavorful..i mean the spices they use are just incredible. Both Kristy and I are like we have to come take cooking classes down here!! It was so unreal. It really is such a fun city here. We walked thru the french quarter and its just one big party. Oh and the best part, everywhere u go, there is amazing music!!!!!! We were walking to the restaurant last night and there was a 6 piece horn band, that was just INCREDIBLE! It is amazing to me all of the talent in this world.

Today we are going for beignets....they are these fried dough pastries with powdered sugar on them. They are one of the foods New Orleans in famous for, and i see them on Food Network all the time! So i am adement on having one!!!! After that we are gonna drive around and see some of the damage of Katrina, and what they are doing to improve it. Its my first time in New Orleans, but Kristy has been here since the hurricane and she says it looks a hundered times better. I just cant believe all of the beautiful historical buildings that are vacant! It is so sad. The people down here though are just so amazing. They are so proud of their city, and they're proud to be living here still. They are survivors, and incredible souls!

Ok, I must try and get a little bit of sleep before we gotta be up again. We had a 630am radio interview this morning with Cory and Deb in South Bend In. They were amazing! Kristy fell right back to sleep, but yet i am wide awake. ;-/. But i love you guys and i hope to see y'all at some of the shows we have coming up. They are going to be amazing. We are in Chicago next weekend, where we hear it is about...-9 dgs. yea....its gonna be cold!!! But my family is from there and will be there..so I cant wait.
