How would you rate your favorite books?

Every so often I come across a book that wows me.  It's a book that I'll be talking about for weeks and recommending to everyone I meet.  And I always find it fascinating what books other people enjoy... and the ones they don't.

Some people are tolerant of books they don't enjoy. But there are others who have no problem smearing books across the pavement.... and I wonder, why is that?  Why not just say the book "isn't your type?"  Hey, that excuse works in the dating world. :)

So, what are some of your favorite books and how would you rate them?  5 stars? Standing ovation?

WHAT IS BOOK-BEE.com?

A simple answer is a social newspaper about books, literature, and writing; completely driven by people like you. What's a social newspaper you ask? I'm so glad you did. It's an online newspaper (as if you couldn't guess) where the stories are posted by readers and other 'industry professionals' from around the world. It's up to you to add new stories, link to book related stories in the news, and RATE & COMMENT on the stories.

Rating & Commenting are an important part of book-bee.com. Your ratings and comments are recommendations (or not) that will lead others to the best book news.

And the social aspect? Well, we're a community made up by and for book-lovers. We're friendly folks looking for like minded souls to chat with and meet. You'll find various ways to participate and meet folks via book-bee.com.

HOW DO I ADD A STORY?

I'm so glad you asked. We accept any book related news here at book bee. So how do you add a news story? Start by registering. Once you're registered, login. At the top of the administrative section, you'll see the word Write. Click that. You'll then see a space called Title, this is where you should put your headline. Next is a text box for Content. This is where the text of your news goes. Once you've got your Headline and Text added, select the appropriate category from the menu on the right. You may need to click the + next to the word category to get the menu to drop down.

Once you're done with that, click the Publish button. You've just added your story to Book-Bee.com. You'll want to read the next to sections to learn how to rate stories and how to link back to your story. Linking back to your story will let your friends, family and visitors rate your story so it will have a higher placement on our home page.

HOW DO I RATE A STORY?

First off, a bit of lingo. Around here, we call rating a story "buzzing" a story. To buzz a story, simple read the story and then at the end click on one of the stars. Before you vote, stars will be gray. After you've voted, they'll turn yellow. If you think the story only deserves one star (the lowest rating possible) click on the first star on the left. If you feel like it was a fabulous story click on the fifth star from the left (that's the highest rating possible.) For in between stories, you be the judge.

HOW DO I LINK TO STORIES?

Linking to a story is the best way to let others read and buzz your story. Click on the title of your story. That will bring up your stories 'page.' Then copy the URL and link to it whereever.
