A Quote About Not Cursing

"How do people, like, not curse?  How is it possible?  There are all these gaps in speech where you just have to put a 'fuck.'  I'll tell you who the most admirable people in the world are:  newscasters.  If that was me, I'd be like, 'And the motherfuckers flew the fucking plane right into the Twin Towers.' How could you not, if you're a human being? Maybe they're not so admirable.  Maybe they're zombies."

I'm just a nerd

I'm jazzed that it's almost concert time again. And as such I came upon this little video with Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump. I had to post it. More for me, than for you reader. He's my favorite Fall Out Guy and he's so cute in this clip because he's so excited about the songs he's chosen.

It's so Jr. High, on my part I know.

You Had Me At Penultimate

So a while back I wrote a blog about the TV show Prison Break and about how I love the use of big words and one such word was used in the show.  And I particularly liked it because it was used by one of the characters, Michael (played by Wentworth Miller).  Translation:  He's not too bad on my looky balls. Here's the mercurial blog.

Anywho...I recently read an article with Mr. Miller and he melted my insides down again with the use of the word, penultimate (which means next to last).

If you could see me right now, you'd see that I'm all sighs.  I'm such an uber dork.

SJSU
Current mood: excited

Whoo-hoo!

I went to SJSU today for the admitted student reception and got aquainted with the place.  Took the tour with an awsome student tour guide and I'm super stoked about going there in the Fall.  It's been a long time coming, (due to uncertainty mostly) but FINALLY it's right there.  I'm right there.  And it's smiles all around.

Whoo-hoo!

You Can't Tag Me If I'm On Home Base!

So my good buddy Serena just gave me the official, "Tag- You're It!" blogstyle. Meaning, once you are tagged; you have to write a blog with 6 weird things/habits about yourself. Then you need to pick 6 other people to tag and list their names. Then, leave them a comment saying, "You've been tagged" and tell them to read your blog. It's that simple!

1) I've been reading and watching a lot of Harry Potter and now I wish I wasn't a Muggle.

2) Fear is becoming more of a driving force for me.  Doing things that I'm afraid of or nervous about is kinda starting to be  fun. Facing fear is fun?  That is wierd.

3) In the 6th grade I wanted the style that Clarissa and Blossom had.  Whoa!

4) My main choice of music when I was nine: THE CARPENTERS.  Loved them!  Karen Carpenter's voice made me think I could sing!  Now that's power!

5) I put Ketchup on my scrambled eggs.

6) Since I turned 26, I've found that my celebrity crushes are older gents. Not George Hamilton older gents, but more like, say...Stephen Colbert or Patrick Dempsey.  Not that they are way older just not around my age.  That's all I'm saying!

It wasn't me, it was Cooper!
Current mood: Amused and a little tired

You ever have that moment when your dog farts and you make eye contact with him after you've just yelled "HEY!?"  His eyes look as if they're saying, "Sorry" and "I could really care less that you can smell that air biscuit I just baked."

Well, I farted earlier today and Cooper and I had that moment after I yelled "HEY!"  And the eye contact that followed were my eyes saying, "Sorry" and "You do it!" And then he just went back to lying on his pillow.

Somewhere in the middle of all this, I realized that my rump grenade smelled like one my mom tossed out (on accident of course) when I was a wee lass. (Ah, smells.  They have a way of nostalgia about them sometimes, don't they?)  So after the eye contact with Cooper, my thoughts went to, I just farted and it smelled like that time Mom farted. Oh, crap.  I hope that isn't the beginning of the turning into Mom phase.

Don't you just feel closer to me now?

(No pets or humans were harmed in the course of the aforementioned events.)

Oi! Oi! Oi!
Current mood: Whoo-Hoo!

LIVE MUSIC ROCKS! I love the fact that if you don’t know a band, you get to. And going to a live show, can make or break your opinion of a band. That is quite cool...especially if they tickle your ears fancy.

Last night April and I went up to SF to see the British band, Hard-Fi. Despite feeling a bit like a sardine it was quite a groovy little show. We actually lucked out earlier in the day as LIVE 105 had a free show at The Blank Club during the lunch hour with these guys. So even if we were crammed at the SF show, the lunch show left us free to get our rock on!

Okay that was such a nerdy thing to say. BUT at the SF show we got introduced to another UK band, Black Wire who were so unbelievably cool that being jammed up against a wall by total nob-heads who didn’t give a flying F that they were being so, was not such a suck-ass time (some of our fellow wall flowers were quite lovely and had perfectly lovely British accents to go with the fact that they were of the male persuasion)....Mmm, tasty.

Valentine's Day

Some Quotes...

"I love you...in a really, really big pretend to like your taste in music-let you eat the last piece of Cheesecake-hold a radio over my head outside your window-unfortunate way that makes me hate you-love you."  --Merrideth to Sheppard, Grey's Anatomy (2005)

"For a kiss to be really good, you want it to mean something.  You want it to be with someone you can't get out of your head, so that when your lips finally touch...you feel it everywhere.  A kiss so hot and so deep, you never want to come up for air.  You can't cheat your first kiss...'cause when you find that right person to first kiss...it's everything."  --Alex, Grey's Anatomy Something to Talk About (2005)

"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength; loving someone deeply gives you courage."  --Lao-Tzu

"I'd rather die tomorrow than live 100 years without knowing you."  John Smith to Pocahontas, Disney's Pocahontas

"Live. Laugh. Love." Or "Live well.  Laugh often.  Love much." --A lot of people say this...One of my favorite mottos. :)

"The mystery of love is greater than the mystery of death."  --Oscar Wilde

"And in the end/the love you take/is equal to/the love you make" --John Lennon & Paul McCartney, The End Abbey Road

Can You Build Laughter Out Of Legos?

(Me either. But since you're here read on...I need a title. Any ideas?) **I think I found a title**

The Me In Comedian*

Put the key in the door, open
To a room, too big to ignore
Get the feeling I've been here before
It's just me--My life

At the moment spills across
The bed, look around, scratch
My head scratch my belly
Turn on the telly
Brew some coffee, eat the
Complementry toffee read the
Paper, hope the rain will
Taper--Off

Goes the telly, twiddle my thumbs
Scratch my bum I light a smoke
I write a joke drive to work
Get hasseled by
A Jerk-burger

And fries is my dinner
It's just me
When I put the key
In the door
Yup, I've been here before
It's just me--My life
As a laugh whore

So It's A New Year

"Fresh starts.  Thanks to the calendar, they happen every year.  Just set your watch to January.

Our reward for surviving the holiday season, is a new year.  Bringing on the great tradition of New Year's Resolutions--Put the past behind you and start over.

It's hard to resist the chance of a new beginning.  A chance to put the problems of last year to bed.

[But] who gets to determine when the old ends and the new begins?  It's not a day on a calendar.  Not a birthday.  Not a new year.

It's an event.

Big or small, something that changes us.  Ideally, it gives us hope.  A new way of living and looking at the world...Letting go of old habits...old memories...

What's important, is that we never stop believing we can have a new beginning.  But it's also important to remember that, amid all the crap, are a few things really worth holding on to."

Do you know what today is?

Besides my birthday...it is "Step In A Puddle And Splash Your Friend Day."

Now if it would only rain...

For the most part the following is true. How very interesting...

Your Birthdate: January 11

Your birth on the 11th day of the month makes you something of a dreamer and an idealist.

You work well with people because you know how to use persuasion rather than force.

There is a strong spiritual side to your nature, and you may have intuitive qualities inherent in your make up, too.

You are very aware and sensitive, though often temperamental.

Although you have a good mind and you are very analytical, you may not be comfortable in the business world.

You are definitely creative and this influence tends to make you more of a dreamer than a doer.
